I find it interesting that we are seeing poor wording have such an influence on the Relics. Oz asked how HE could kill Salem so that's very open ended and Weiss poor word choice on the portal being one way.
I didn’t see anyone else consider this, but I didn’t realize Salem smiled at Ruby revealing her to the world. We do know from the lost fable that Salem was supposed to learn the importance of life (or something similar) as stated by the god of light, if Salem wants to die perhaps she has two plans: 1: divide humanity and destroy the world; and 2: allow humanity to unite against her perhaps believing that will show the gods she has learned and as such her immortality is removed. I also agree with several others that the way we know about the way Salem got her immortality is probably from Oz’s conversations with her when they met after his reincarnation
I have a theory, what if Salem doesn't actually want to destroy humanity, maybe her goal is to unite humanity against a common enemy being herself. That would be one hell of a twist. Maybe Salem goal is to destroy the gods, not once has Salem said she wants to destroy humanity, that's just ozma idea of what Salem wants.
I was looking in the comments for a similar theory I have. All I think Salem's plan is to fight the against the gods again because she said that she will return with a bigger army in the lost fable. But I think she also believes that the relics will give her a better chance at destroying them as well .
Something I thought was interesting was how Ozma worded his third question: “How can *I* destroy Salem?” As you said, you have to be specific. So I don’t think she truly can’t be killed, just that a way to kill her hasn’t been found yet. Maybe the Silver Eyes? Maybe the Maidens? Maybe something else that hasn’t been shown to us yet. So if he had worded it as “How can Salem be destroyed?” then a different answer might have been given.
As good as that idea sounds, it doesn't seem to be work here imo: If you need to watch your wording when asking Jinn a question, Ruby's "What is he hiding from us?" shouldn't have given them the answer they were seeking, since it is a pretty open question. Jinn could tell them something else Ozpin was hiding from them that has nothing to do with Salem after all with this wording. Saying that Jinn has some limited mind reading powers to help her here to learn more about which secret Ruby is referring to also doesn't work, because if she had those powers, then Ruby shouldn't have been able to summon her later during the Leviathan fight when she didn't have a question (since she would be capable of reading Ruby's mind and as such should know that Ruby doesn't have a question). Heck, I would be even more inclined to believe that Jinn lied to Ozpin about Salem, since the way of beating Salem was told during the lost fable (even though Team RWBY never asked about it). As such, the way of killing Salem should have existed already back then (bring Salem to the point where she understanda live and death because then she looses her immortality, afterwards she can be killed or you wait until she dies of old age). Even if we assume that Jinn knows that Ozpin won't be able to make Salem mortal again, she shouldn't be able to give him this information, since she can only talk about past and present, not the future.
When Ozma asked Jinn "How do I destroy Salem" she said "you can't." I think the reason could be is that he still loves her deep down inside of him and he wouldn't be able to defeat her or could just be that she's immortal.
@@BlueWhiteBros u also said "Or just that HE can't destroy her for any reason" dude I literally just made a theory of that and you seem to ignore it just reread ok.
@@mantasplah7791 Although that might be true but remember when he was on the ground bleeding and he was going to say something before Salem finish him off. All we heard was "I" and she killed him.
Well I'd say it comes down to the basis of what hiding means to Jinn. I'd say in this case it's what Ozma did not ever wish to share with them. He did not want them to know about how humanity formed and living with the God's. About the immortality aspect of Salem. The info we have on Salem may have come from Jinn in Ozpin asking questions or maybe Salem decided to be forthright with him after he finally was with her. It can be explained away. The basis here is that Jinn is telling what Ozma didn't want to share and not the things he hasn't shared but intended to later. Also the timeframe for him using the relics is likely not that short given these 4 kingdoms have survived and existed for a very long time and the emblems they carry are the relics. Meaning knowledge of the relics and association with those kingdoms have likely been in tandem for a long time. Granted sure they could have changed after the relics we're introduced too but I'd like to think it's the former.
Ozpin was never met to destroy salem He's said: how do ' i ' destroy salem Jin: you can't She didn't say ' no one can't or she can't be stopped. So in theory she can be stopped,or destroyed But by who? And by what
No, he said 'destroy'. In fact, by a lot of people - theoretically. The question was stupid to begin with. How does a single individual destroy an immortal being. Of course that won't happen. But in theory, there are more ways then just silver eyes. Just remember the first episode, when Weiss Schnee partly froze the Nevermore. Completely frozen, she couldn't do anything. Also the portals. If you create or use a realm like the ones where the relics are stored, just without a possibility to exit it. Make her enter it and done ^^
Love this video, so many big brain takes. Something I have been curious about is what she says to Oscar/Ozpin when she asks about Choice, "You would keep that one hidden as long as possible." That insinuates she is somewhat aware of what the relic can do. Or at least is of the opinion Choice is the most powerful/useful of the set.
I liked one of your earlier theories where you said the one question was used by Summer Rose. As for the fable, yes I believe it is slightly inaccurate. I thought that Salem would have filled in the gaps in Ozpin’s knowledge while they were still together. Ruby was very vague. I think we’ll learn more when we find out more about the Relic of Choice
While I agree that Ozpin is not completely innocent I feel he has been given a raw deal because they try to portray him as the devil incarnate just because he doesn’t give every minute detail to anyone who just initially says they are with him. Also, perhaps the information we saw in the Lost Fable while Ozma was dead was what Salem told him what happened when they finally “came clean” right before their fight.
@@dragonstormx sure...for now. But what if Ozma does something similar again? Are they going to act as childish and untrusting as they did the first time? Considering they didn't apologize to Ozma for their behavior during the Lost Fable, and considering they haven't seemed to truly learn their lesson - even after doing the EXACT SAME THING toward Ironwood that Ozma did to them - I'm thinking this is a strong possibility. In other words, it seems like their "forgiving" Ozma was conditional on the shaky belief that he'll never do it again, when there may come another time when Ozma will have to keep something hidden from them for good reason (ex: the location of the relic in Beacon). The teens have some serious growing up to do before I'll believe that they've truly forgiven Ozma for doing what he did. Hopefully, Volume 9 will be a learning experience for all of them.
I like to think that the reason Ozma thinks Salem wants to die is because due to wanting to be free. That's been her goal ever since she was locked up in the tower by her father (I wouldn't be surprised if the king's true motive was to prevent her from becoming a bigger monster than himself). When you've been locked up for most of your childhood, are suddenly rescued by someone who later dies, then after spending millennia watching the world move on, be suddenly reunited with the one you lost only to be betrayed by that person. I would say that be drive any person to not want to carry on living. I'm pretty sure Salem chose now to strike out, so she can make Ozma watch everything he's worked so hard towards get torn down right before his eyes. With the relics, I'm hoping that team RWBY will have learned from Jinn and Ambrosius that they need to be very specific in what they want when they get the Sword of Destruction.
I have 3 theories on Salem's true motive. 1) She does truly want to die still, for whatever reason. It's what Ozpin believes, but he's a well meaning idiot, so I can't imagine this is the most likely. This requires her to gather the relics, call back the gods, and divide humanity as much as possible so they wipe Remnant out of the solar system her included. Granted there are a lot of flaws with this. As it was Ozpin's quest to gather the relics and call the gods back, the gods might just sweep her to the wayside in the end and the end of RWBY is a sort of "return to normalcy" or the gods give Salem and Ozpin their mortality back after all of the conflict. 2) She wants to become a new god of Remnant and the only way to really do that is for the gods to come back and hard wipe all of humanity and Ozpin so she has no opposition. This requires Salem to believe the gods won't kill her for summoning them while humanity is divided still, which is in line with the punishment they gave her, being "you have to learn the value of life and death before you can die." Seeing as her intent to become a "living god" is at conflict with the only way for her to die, it's possible. 3) Salem isn't as evil as we believed her to be, and want's to free both herself, and the world of Remnant from the gods. (As we've seen from Ozpin's perspective, they are massive assholes) For a while there Salem and Ozma were on track to rule over all of Remnant together as benevolent beings, (Salem literally saved a village from uncontrolled grimm) and she might see what she's doing as a necessary evil for the greater good of humanity. With humanity pretty much falling apart on it's own, (racism, Mistral goes' full "Equilibrium" creating the great war, class issues thanks to Atlas and Mantle, and greed stripping Vacuo of all it's recourses dooming it to be a 3rd world shithole) Salem makes herself humanities biggest threat, and forces them to unite against her, and when the time comes, she can direct all of that unification against the gods as they are the ones who "created her" (just like last time, only there's a lot more people) and with a little trickery, or a good speech or two, the gods give humanity their paradise as promised since they unified, and then dip. This is the one I sort of want to happen the most, because it harkens back to what Blake said in V1 about there being no such thing as pure evil, but it's also one I can see as being the most likely, mostly because when Ruby reveled Salem to the world, Salem was smiling, like she wanted this to happen. That's on top of Salem saying they (her and Ozma) could finally have been free, and it's also something that I consistently think about in regards to Chaos, VS Peace, and Freedom VS Order. Salem being chaos incarnate, want's total freedom, and Ozpin being peaceful to passive to a sever fault, wants order.
I think Ozpin would have gotten information about how humanity was wiped out by the light brother before he was reincarnated, so Salem wouldn't have much room to lie if she tried. I also think that Ozpin would have discussed how Salem became how she is now since they had a strong bond of trust at that time. I'd at least think that in the hundreds of years since he's had Jinn, he would have at least once asked what happened to her - since her history appeared in Jinn's retelling of what is Ozpin hiding, and her showing things that he would not originally be there for, I think that's likely what happened. Side note, if I was in a position to ask Jinn a question, I'd write down a notebook of everything I wanted to ask (in Ruby's case, get everyone to write down their questions, including Ironwood) and then ask, 'What are the answers to the questions in this notebook if I were to ask?' I'm wondering if they could have used Jinn and Ambrosius in conjunction to create something to seal Salem and the Grimm. With the right tweaks, they may have even been able to learn Salem's method of modifying Grimm to make anti-Grimm - they can use dust to replace magical ability.
Since we're talking about jinn's power, that brings a question to my mind. How exactlly does jinn's "refreshing time" works?. We've been told that people in Remnant can olny ask 3 questions every century, but when starts the countdown? I Have come with 3 possible answers but i'm not really sure which one is correct. There are three possible ways of "recharging the questions time" : 1) the answers recharge themselves in a specific date regadless of the amount of them already used, that meaning that if you wait too much to ask your questions, then you use the ones of this new century and lost the previous ones, but if you wait just enought for the Last minutes of that date you can ask the three questions of that century and immediately ask the three ones of the new century, that giving you 6 questions in a row 2) the "recharging time" only starts when all questions have been asked, meaning that even if you asked Something more than 100 years ago if you Have not asked your third question yet, you can't ask again until it has passed hundred years since your last question. 3) each question has Its own "recharging time", meaning that when you ask a question it start Its way to recharge apart of the other questions time, and giving you the opportunity of ask a question wait until Its about to recharge then ask your other two questions, and then ask again the new recharged question. I don't Know if this is Something that someone else already aswered or if i'm just Over thinking it, but is Something I wanna Know
You're overthinking things, because no show would explain it in that detail. Personally I think it's the first option, because the focus of the 100 years was a bit too big - and since the last question was most likely from Summer and/or Raven, we wouldn't see more then one last question.
This is an interesting take on what Jhin told the team, however I think you're leaning in to the "Genie's wish" is often twisted into something that was not intended, or going through a loophole. But from what we've seen, questions presented to Jhin are taken on good faith of what the person posing the question intends, rather than the letter of their question. We see this later on when Cinder has the lantern and asks "what have Ruby and her teammates planned?" we see Jhin visibly deflate at the question, and she regrets what she has to show them. In that moment we see that Jhin has her own desires and would probably prefer team RWBY to win. The question is actually really vague and would be easily exploited, however she doesn't just tell them a rough idea of what the plan is, she literally shows their full conversation of what's planned exactly as Cinder desired, even revealing the presence of Emerald on their side that she had no expectation of. All that said, it is a good point and there may be more information that couldn't have been covered by the question, because Oz literally doesn't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I don't know about all that Chief, every other time she's answered someone's question she's had a smug smirk that screams I'm not telling you exactly what it is your asking. With Cinder's question I don't really see how that can be twisted around as the only plan that they had at the time was create portals and send everyone to Vacuo. Jinn deflates because she knows that for once she can't be a smug cunt and mess with the person asking the question.
Because the question was asked to give the information from the perspective of Ozpin. Jhin has to answer exactly as Ozpin knows and understands it, which means if Ozpin's knowledge of how the lost fable played out, Salem's motives, and the potential to defeat Salem were inaccurate, Jhin would answer with the inaccurate telling of the story because it would be the correct answer to the question.
Very compelling Although another thing that he was hiding though, can also be contextualized that....... He was Romantically involved with Salem before (at least his past life as Ozma) Another thing I think he is hiding is the fact, that getting the Relics in the first place makes everyone a bunch of Sitting ducks cause what does Salem want ? The relics
Before the vid began I was ready to comment "well we at the very least learned how/why Salem is immortal." Once you mentioned how the whole tale might just be what Ozmas limited info was hiding, it got me thinking. However, I believe that the brother of light would've informed Ozma of the actual happenings of the fable when he and Ozma had that 'meeting' of sorts before sending Ozma back to Remnant. I feel like the brother of light is/would be pretty thorough. I'm basing that off the fact that when Salem went to the brother of darkness, light didn't just say "hey, brother your wrong, stop". He actually explained to his brother that he was being deceived, which most beings of power in tales like this DON'T do.
In that case, wouldn't that be included in the rest of the conversation that Jinn showed RWBY and company about what Oz was hiding? I don't think the god of light told Ozma anything else after he was brought back.
@@rebekahstockwell8706 Pretty much The God of Light may very well just be trying to put the Blame on Salem for his and his brother's own Violation of Salem's fragile Mindset They kept bringing Ozma back to life than killing him right in front of her, that is enough to make anyone turn into a Genocidal Person Making them witness the death of a loved one over and over and over and over and over and over and over God of Light basically screwed up when he picked Ozma to have a Cycle of Rebirth What did God of Light call humanity again "This was an interesting *Experiment* but it's time to stop this" The Gods specifically want to mess with Humanity
Maybe, I don't think Ozpin was 'hiding' every detail. So basically, if anyone from either RWBY or JNPR had came to those conclusions on their own or say if Salem told them the fable, I think Ozma would've told them "yeah, the brother of light tasked me with this" but the details of thier (GoL & Ozma) convo wouldn't need to be hidden or revealed cuz that's just the task at hand for Ozma. I could also be WAY off lol
Who said that Ozpin was the one that use the first question in Ruby time it could be Summer and Raven trying to find what is Oz is keeping from them since it’s that Summer and Raven are partners and friends in the past
Awesome vid Phoenix! All your vids made me question some things, and after vol. 8 transportation into another world, one question in particular came to mind...What if Summer escaped from Salem, on her last quest, with the relic of choice? and what if RWBY finds Summer hiding in the other world??
Wording is everything. Magic monkeys palm relics and all. I’m still curious how the staff of creation made more flames since it can’t destroy. If I asked to make light a lit fire and it burned wood isn’t that destruction. If you added more water to a wave and it became a natural disaster is it out of the staffs control what happens with what’s made? You can’t ask him to make a weapon capable of mass destruction right? The gaps and inconsistency in the rules with this relic still gives me a headache
Since Qrow was present when Ruby asked "What is Ozpin hiding from us?", whatever info Ozpin had told Qrow before hand wasn't included in the vision Jinn showed them. Also since Ozpin nor Qrow knew what happened to Summer Rose that info didn't show in the vision, though one thing Oz could've done to keep his and Salem's past hidden was shout "what happened to Summer Rose?" to Jinn to distract everyone and learn that info alongside them as well.
The Lost Fable is my favorite episode it's the episode that got me into Ruby cuz when I first saw Ruby I didn't really think much of it and didn't really decide to watch it but then a friend of mine showed me the episode The Lost Fable and it got me into Ruby and to be honest I thought the rest of Ruby what kind of be like this Even though the rest of Ruby hasn't really been like the Lost Fable is still one of my favorite episodes and it really made me come to Love Ruby even still to this day I know a large amount of the fandom weren't exactly happy But the Lost sable has shown to be one of the best Ruby episodes they've made so far besides the last few episodes of volume 3 It gave us insight into what we believe is the truth but to be honest I still believe there's more to remnant or even other worlds out there we don't know of and even though we saw the characters say that this is humanity's second chance that life or whatever I believe there there was another time where humans probably lived somewhere else and maybe the island that team Ruby is on right now is connected to the place humans originally came from but because Austin never probably really explored those places and just saw those places is where the vaults were that store at the relics he didn't think much of it And after all like I said there could be other worlds out there the gods did say that remnant was a nice experiment they probably have others out there it's probably why they're so willing to just wipe humans out because they probably started another group of humans somewhere else already and those humans are probably thriving and doing exactly like that planned or hoped balancing destruction creation knowledge and choice perfectly I was really hoping by now we would see more on ozpin past When Oscar got captured and was taken to monstro and was there with Salem that would have been the perfect time to give us a flashback on some more of ozma and Salem in the past hell some of the episodes in volume 8 feel wasted considering what happened in them and they didn't really add much to the plot they could have used those episodes to explore more of the past and the ongoing battle that's been going on between Salem and oz and maybe if we're lucky we'll get some of those next volume or volume 10 because I feel like they'll probably be wrapping things up at Volume 11 or 12 or if my theory is true maybe we'll get 13 to 15 volumes of Ruby because there are so many characters and so many different plot points I don't think we can wrap all this up in 12 volumes or even with spinoff shows or even in comics I think it'll probably take up to 12 to 13 volumes to really wrap everything up and conclude all the character arcs for everybody or maybe like I said 15
Three things: When Ruby asked the question it was because they didn’t understand why Ozpin was lying to them all the time. The reason being, he knew if he said that Salem was immortal they would lose hope, which they did for a moment. That’s why Jinn gave her answer. I don’t think Jinn would try to hide answers because if so, she wouldn’t have told Cinder what the team was planning in Vol 8. Also, I can believe Salem wants to die, but I think she wants to see Ozpin dead or just gone. She’s hates Ozpin more than anything, but also kind of loves him too. Or maybe she wants to fulfill ruling Remnant like a God. She did want to live that dream with Ozma, but it didn’t work out. Other things that could have been answered is 1) Summer Rose, 2) When and how Ozpin used all the relics in the past, and 3) if Ozpin gave magic to other people we don’t know about. Great Video!
Something I don't quite understand is If Ozpin had collected all the Relics once before shouldn't the Gods have already judged humanity by now ? Like, it doesn't quite add up cause. In the lost fable the god of light specifically said. "When all 4 of these Relics have been collected, my brother and I shall return. And humanity will be judged" GOL never said anything about having to Activate the Relics together to summon the gods back He just said "Once they are gathered, we shall return" It makes me think the timeline of Ozpin's actions aren't exactly set in stone He must have Collected each Relic Separately, than once he found a spot to hide them. He had them sealed away
Yes, that is correct, at least in my mind. The gods never said how they had to be gathered, I’m guessing the relics have to be in the same exact location and very close to each other. Ozpin, separated the Relics into the vaults and they have not been gathered since then, meaning that the gods have not come back.
Actually we know the answer why Salem start moving now - Hound. Before that moment when she created that monster she have a very specific weakness and no matter how many Grimm's she created even one warrior with a silver eyes can easily destroyed them. But now she created a creature that can't be defeated by single warrior. Of course she don't know about Oz specific weapon that can easily destroyed even a army of Grim. And that's exactly the reason why in volume 9 we don't see Salem return. Yes, we will see Tyrion, Mercury and Cinder but Salem return in the same position as she was at first 3 Volumes. Because now she doesn't have anything that can protect her. Cinder, as we know, can't fight if her enemy have a silver eyes. Tyrion and Mercury can fight but both of them are working on other things. Salem doesn't have anything that can find any warrior's with a silver eyes. And she need a lot of time to create that creature.
What names did Cinder and Neo use in the tournament? They were there under false pretenses, and we know Mercury and Emerald used their names, but if we knew the names of the other 2 maybe would could determine their team name. I really doubt Either of the other 2 used their real names. We've all heard peoples humorous guess at their team name, but I wonder if Rooster teeth had an actual name in mind? If Cinder, who was not really seen to be with the evil people at the time did go by Cinder, then Neo could have reverted to her original name and been Trivia, and they could have been CEMenT with that lower case N being a little chuckle at her new name. We only got to see a small peak at their fight as a complete team and no commentary to what they were called.
Cinder used her real (sur)name as that is the name Ruby know at the end of V3. Raven has of course already said that Cinder's family name of "Fall" was likely chosen by her, and she's likely right. Neo likely chose a different name as she was under a different identity at the time, Roman had already used her name after being beat out of the Paladin, so it wouldn't exactly be safe to use.
You are right she also never told team RWBY about the powers of the other relics nor the spirits of the relics either. Also anyone else curious how Ozpin found out Jin’s name? Because it can’t be activated without her name.
The main questions I have is how much time passed between the death of the first humanity and ozmas first reincarnation and what did Salem do during that time
One theory/idea I have is that the 4 relic genies are effectively able to see the future, as their relm is outside of time, theoretically could they be able to see, go to the future. They would obviously not want to tell people the future, but Jinn's answer could be explained by her ability to see that in the future it isn't Ozma that can destroy Salem, but someone else. And if so does this then apply to the others, Ambrosious supposedly didn't recognise the change in time until he saw team RWBY the second time. From this my mind spirals with ideas; could the relic genies rescue the people in this other world; do they know the outcome set for the end of RWBY; do they know how to defeat/destroy/kill Salem; are they somehow aspects of the gods themselves allowing the gods to monitor remnant? lol sorry if this doesn't make sense :)
Well if it was based on what Ozpin knows, then that could mean that the theory that at least one of his kids survived the fight between him and Salem has perhaps some validity to it. We never saw the bodies perhaps Ozpin assumed they died.
the problem is also that ozpin did not ask "how can salem be destroyed" but rather "how can I destroy salem" "you cant" does not mean "salem cannot be destroyed".
Well, it's still likely that she can't be destroyed. I mean, how do you destroy an immoral being? :P But that doesn't mean she can't be harmed. Be it through silver eyes, completely freeze her or imprison her into a realm with no exit.
I do think the info that was given was accurate even if not a lot was given, and as for why she didn’t do her plan when the world was at war? She either wasn’t ready for some reason, wanted to kill off silver eyes or was waiting for humanity to be past war times and have their hope back so she could rip it out under them
I know it's probably been said hundreds of times by this point, but I've always interpreted "How do I destroy Salem?" "You can't" as "YOU can't". Oz himself can't destroy her either because of his connection to her (either the love he has for her or as part of his divine reincarnation cycle or something) or because of some physical limitation (such as not possessing silver eyes)
Most likely, he didn't know As it's implied that Summer went off to face Salem without telling anyone (except those close to her) which is why Qrow, Tai and Raven are so shaken up and separated because of Summer's death Raven for instance, thinks Ozpin sent Summer to do a Suicide mission but no...... Summer went on that mission on her own terms That's what is implied by how Qrow talked about it in Volume 7 I believe before sh*t hit the fan
Told me Jin is the least trustworthy of the relics so far. She seems to know what a person means yet purposefully does not answer the question as they want. Merely answering as asked word for word only
there is also the explaination for why ozpin knows salems backstory might be that the god of light might have told him when he asked ozma to reanimate into the world
RWBY THEORY: In a World created by Men the Women Suffer. Theory 1:The Brother Gods created Salem's childeren to punish her. When Salem fell into the pools she lost the ability to have children since grimm blood will kill any thing in the womb. The GoL helped in making it possible for her to conceive even the grimm blood in her veins making it impossible for it to happen and made sure the last child was born with silver eyes as a way to send a message that without his influnce she would had have only stillborns. The GoD contributed by making them all women and gifting them with magic (not born with like he Himself said in the Lost Fable) so that Salem will be able see herself in each of them as they slowly died by age taking their magic with them (magic can't be passed on through bloodlines like semblances) so that she might see herself in each and everyone of them to learn the cycle of life and death and pass on with them. Theory 2: Ozma was brought back to mock Salem. The Brothers brought him back as a reincarnation so Salem may see the lesson of life and death from him as well as having him be able to taste death unlike her. He is also a champion of the Gods to make appreciate them since they finally gave him back to her. Theory 3: Salem was pregnant the first time. The Gods cursed her with immortality rather than reincarnation since she was pregnant when they cursed her (it only affects her soul not the children the curse was only placed on her) so they let her free in the world hoping she will find about herself, a shame she went and stabbed her stomach killing the twin girls (goes with the original fairy tale of two daughters if it went well) in the process. I wonder what Salem and Oz well react to these theories?
Can they trap Salem in one of these other dimensions? And if they could, who’s to say someone else didn’t trap Salem in Remnent? Seen as humanity seemingly had a second “birth” ?
She's canonically a Remnant Native inhabitant She was cursed with Immortality BY the gods of Remnant Humanity didn't "seemingly" have a Rebirth They literally were reborn from the Magical Dust of the original run of Humanity
You mention ur doubts about Ozma's belief of Salem wanting to die. I think initially she did want to die, but after Ozma crossed her she changed her motivations to want to destroy him by destroying humanity
I want to stop and look back at the final answer to ozpins. Question about if he can destroy Salem Jinn said that he can’t, I would like to think that that is very specific to him that he cannot destroy Salem but I think jinn was trying to imply, that while ozpin/ozma can’t someone else can and I am betting that that person or persons is related to team Rwby mainly Ruby her self with her silver eyes
I’m not sure if it’s been pointed out but when Ozpin first visited Salem after being sent back to the living by the god of light. Doesn’t that character look like Taiyang?
Personally i think Jinn might be prone to going above and beyond when it comes to telling people information. She didn't HAVE to give Ruby and friends the entire backstory in graphic detail, but she did. And it's possible the scene we saw of Jinn telling Oz the hard fact was a shorted summery, since a full repeat of the "Salem will not die sequence" would've been too much or redundant.
certainly a lot to think about, though I will say the parts about Salem gathering humanity and turning on the gods while he was dead was probably told to him by Salem herself after he reincarnated for the first time. so unless she was hiding things from him there's no reason that info should be wrong at least.
How many of you have read the Fairy Tales of Remnant book? I doubt a lot of people have. While some of the fairy tales in the book have been animated, the stories in the actual book came with commentary from various Beacon's staff, and one of these stories was a retelling of Jinn's "Lost Fable", sometimes even copying her word for word, which had commentary from Ozpin himself. What did it say? That this story is malicious propaganda and must not be believed.
I think Salem wants Ozma to succeed to bring together all the people of Remnant, so she can have them tear themselves apart. Salem wants to prove a point to the Gods.
what if rwby and ornj gather the relics and summon the gods to ask them to get rid of salem. but if salem gather all four relics, it's game over to remnant. but if we could find out of salem's weakness, that will be the four relics, silver eyes, and the magic of the long memory.
The relics are only needed to be gathered for one purpose. to summon the gods. and as Salem is set on causing discord...they will show up, they will see the chaos, and they will end the world...and she will die. bear in mind; 'summoning the gods' is very much to be considered a 'power' of the relics. so It's quite conceivable he'd be told that from Jinn, if nowhere else. And hell, he's been around forever. so who's to say he did not learn Salem's side of the story through Jinn as well? I'm afraid Salem's goal is not in any kind of question. There is literally nothing else she CAN be aiming for by gathering the relics and sowing discord among the people's of the world. There is only one outcome of that. She dies.
Yeah but as the video asked, why not during the war where Relics were out and about and chaos was everywhere I WOULD have said "Oh she actually just wants to still play god" but uh, Salem should have started that quest waaaay earlier and would have won if due to sheer respawn spam
While I was really hoping my Theory on An Ren being Salem would be true, I feel like this episode pretty much killed the terror of Salem, she still feels terrifying but the backstory & Salem in it just.....doesn't. It was honestly better to just keep her mysterious.
He was hiding that Salem could not be killed. quite a weighty bit of info. anything else he might have kept secret is much less important, relevant to the INTENT of the question.
Ozpin's question was: "How do I destroy Salem?" (emphasize on the I) Jinn's answers: "You can't." (emphasize on the YOU) The relic of knowledge can't answer things that have yet to happen, so Jinn knows of a way, but didn't say it since Ozpin didn't word his question correctly. If he asked "How do we stop Salem?" that might reveal the answer.
What is the ultimate goal isn't to die but for her to continue her goal of him uniting Humanity together until someone is strong enough to defeat her enemy not Humanity but the ones who made her Immortal in the first place
What I found most wierdly phrased from Ozpin is the fact he asked. "How can I destroy Salem?" Is the word "destroy". RWBY isn't PG6. They Killed people on screen. Salem was/is a person in my opinion. In generally you destroy things not people. "I'll destroy you" is more used as far as I know, when you try to foil plans or want a person to suffer but not kill them, in the sense of what Salem does to Ozpin (break down everything he build up). Yet all he seemed to be asking or was concerned with was her death/demise. I actually think he depersonalised Salem as that evil thing which is nothing like the woman he loved once. Or maybe to deflect some pain it would cause him to kill her and asked "How can I destroy Salem." So of course the answer was "you can't". Nobody can destroy an immortals person's plans they have endless amount fo time to try again and again. YOu only can kill a person. With the gienies being so word specific that for me is a red flag in phrasing. Yet it doesn't mean you can't kill her. Also, I don't think that Salem would learn her lesson if she died. She would again get what she wants, at least as far as we officially know. Ozpin should have asked questions in a carrying way, see her as a person. He legit is her cricket supposed to teach her right from wrong, the meaning of life and being content with what you end up with, depending on the choices you made. Yet he can't, because all he sees is her destructive, selfish ways and descended to evil.
We haven't gotten an exact release date yet but my guess would be that Volume 9 will start around late October or early November this year. I'm the meantime there will be RWBY Ice Queendom airing this summer
I know Salem can’t be killed but Why can’t they use the staff of creation to create a chamber similar to the vaults or a magical cage to trap Salem that she couldn’t escape or only a maiden could open
They would have to be able to tell Ambrosius how to make a chamber like that. Mainly a material that is unaffected by magic and grimm is something that I don't think exists on Remnant. So there would be no way of explaining how to make it to Ambrosius
I think The lost fable answers the question: "What is Ozpin hiding form us?" Answer(My interpretation): his connection to the gods, relics, and Salem
I agree
Humanity: *united in hatred to Salem*
Salem: Jokes on you, I'm into that.
Ah yes, she tries to pull a Lelouch, very interesting...
But at the Vol 3 ending she said "I will use all of my power to eradicate it"
She only really wants herself destroyed, and only the Gods know how to do that. She needs them to return with a reason to get rid of her.
@@jonathonsirlord8251 to snuff it out, not eradicate it lol
Something I thought was interesting was how Ozma worded his third question: “How can *I* destroy Salem?” As you said, you have to be specific. So I don’t think she truly can’t be killed, just that a way to kill her hasn’t been found yet. Maybe the Silver Eyes? Maybe the Maidens? Maybe something else that hasn’t been shown to us yet. So if he had worded it as “How can Salem be destroyed?” then a different answer might have been given.
Yeah that's my thought too. He can't destroy her, but it doesn't mean she can't be destroyed.
As good as that idea sounds, it doesn't seem to be work here imo:
If you need to watch your wording when asking Jinn a question, Ruby's "What is he hiding from us?" shouldn't have given them the answer they were seeking, since it is a pretty open question.
Or just that HE can't destroy her for any reason, it doesn't necessarily mean that someone else can't
@@BlueWhiteBros u also said "Or just that HE can't destroy her for any reason" dude I literally just made a theory of that and you seem to ignore it just reread ok.
@@l0ki_lux947 my comment was meant to build upon what you said😅 I'm sorry if it came off in a different way
he did destroy her in the battle that killed their daughters
I would really like to know more about Ozpins life with the Silver Eyes. One of his incarnations had a wife and kids with Silver Eyes.
Ozpin was never met to destroy salem
He's said: how do ' i ' destroy salem
Jin: you can't
She didn't say ' no one can't or she can't be stopped.
So in theory she can be stopped,or destroyed
But by who? And by what
No, he said 'destroy'.
This. All of this.
I mean, didn't everyone forgive Ozpin by the end of Volume 8?
With the relics, I'm hoping that team RWBY will have learned from Jinn and Ambrosius that they need to be very specific in what they want when they get the Sword of Destruction.
heh. To use a quote "Death might be the only true freedom their ever was." - Tabris, Neon Genesis Evangelion
There are three possible ways of "recharging the questions time" :
1) the answers recharge themselves in a specific date regadless of the amount of them already used, that meaning that if you wait too much to ask your questions, then you use the ones of this new century and lost the previous ones, but if you wait just enought for the Last minutes of that date you can ask the three questions of that century and immediately ask the three ones of the new century, that giving you 6 questions in a row
2) the "recharging time" only starts when all questions have been asked, meaning that even if you asked Something more than 100 years ago if you Have not asked your third question yet, you can't ask again until it has passed hundred years since your last question.
Very compelling
Although another thing that he was hiding though, can also be contextualized that....... He was Romantically involved with Salem before (at least his past life as Ozma)
Another thing I think he is hiding is the fact, that getting the Relics in the first place makes everyone a bunch of Sitting ducks cause what does Salem want ?
@@rebekahstockwell8706
Pretty much
The God of Light may very well just be trying to put the Blame on Salem for his and his brother's own Violation of Salem's fragile Mindset
They kept bringing Ozma back to life than killing him right in front of her, that is enough to make anyone turn into a Genocidal Person
Making them witness the death of a loved one over and over and over and over and over and over and over
God of Light basically screwed up when he picked Ozma to have a Cycle of Rebirth
What did God of Light call humanity again
"This was an interesting *Experiment* but it's time to stop this"
The Gods specifically want to mess with Humanity
I think it was the spring maiden who Raven Branwen killed.
All these good theory videos back to back. You're spoiling me, Phoenix.
The Lost Fable is my favorite episode it's the episode that got me into Ruby cuz when I first saw Ruby I didn't really think much of it and didn't really decide to watch it but then a friend of mine showed me the episode The Lost Fable and it got me into Ruby and to be honest I thought the rest of Ruby what kind of be like this
Even though the rest of Ruby hasn't really been like the Lost Fable is still one of my favorite episodes and it really made me come to Love Ruby even still to this day I know a large amount of the fandom weren't exactly happy
But the Lost sable has shown to be one of the best Ruby episodes they've made so far besides the last few episodes of volume 3
It gave us insight into what we believe is the truth but to be honest I still believe there's more to remnant or even other worlds out there we don't know of and even though we saw the characters say that this is humanity's second chance that life or whatever
I believe there there was another time where humans probably lived somewhere else and maybe the island that team Ruby is on right now is connected to the place humans originally came from but because Austin never probably really explored those places and just saw those places is where the vaults were that store at the relics he didn't think much of it
And after all like I said there could be other worlds out there the gods did say that remnant was a nice experiment they probably have others out there it's probably why they're so willing to just wipe humans out because they probably started another group of humans somewhere else already and those humans are probably thriving and doing exactly like that planned or hoped balancing destruction creation knowledge and choice perfectly
I was really hoping by now we would see more on ozpin past
When Oscar got captured and was taken to monstro and was there with Salem that would have been the perfect time to give us a flashback on some more of ozma and Salem in the past hell some of the episodes in volume 8 feel wasted considering what happened in them and they didn't really add much to the plot they could have used those episodes to explore more of the past and the ongoing battle that's been going on between Salem and oz and maybe if we're lucky we'll get some of those next volume or volume 10 because I feel like they'll probably be wrapping things up at Volume 11 or 12 or if my theory is true maybe we'll get 13 to 15 volumes of Ruby because there are so many characters and so many different plot points I don't think we can wrap all this up in 12 volumes or even with spinoff shows or even in comics I think it'll probably take up to 12 to 13 volumes to really wrap everything up and conclude all the character arcs for everybody or maybe like I said 15
Three things:
When Ruby asked the question it was because they didn’t understand why Ozpin was lying to them all the time.
Something I don't quite understand is
If Ozpin had collected all the Relics once before shouldn't the Gods have already judged humanity by now ?
Like, it doesn't quite add up cause. In the lost fable the god of light specifically said.
"When all 4 of these Relics have been collected, my brother and I shall return. And humanity will be judged"
GOL never said anything about having to Activate the Relics together to summon the gods back
He just said
"Once they are gathered, we shall return"
It makes me think the timeline of Ozpin's actions aren't exactly set in stone
He must have Collected each Relic Separately, than once he found a spot to hide them.
That brings up another question however, how many hounds did Salem make?
Salem could’ve just told him what happened to her once they reunited
We know that they both withheld information when they reunited. Even if she did tell him some stuff, she absolutely left some things out.
The lost fable told us a lot.
Hey phoenix, so when are we gonna have the next ep of your OC characters ?
And great video as always !
You are right she also never told team RWBY about the powers of the other relics nor the spirits of the relics either. Also anyone else curious how Ozpin found out Jin’s name? Because it can’t be activated without her name.
The main questions I have is how much time passed between the death of the first humanity and ozmas first reincarnation and what did Salem do during that time
I... I had never even thought to question The Lost Fable before and now my mind is going crazy!
But that doesn't mean she can't be harmed.
It could also be as simple as "Oh, YOU can't... because it's going to take more than one person to kill her for X magical reason"
This makes me wonder, did ozpin not know what happened to summer? Or could that not being shown have to do with the wording again
Most likely, he didn't know
As it's implied that Summer went off to face Salem without telling anyone (except those close to her) which is why Qrow, Tai and Raven are so shaken up and separated because of Summer's death
Raven for instance, thinks Ozpin sent Summer to do a Suicide mission but no...... Summer went on that mission on her own terms
That's what is implied by how Qrow talked about it in Volume 7 I believe before sh*t hit the fan
@@shelbybayer200 tbh that makes a lot of sense
Told me Jin is the least trustworthy of the relics so far. She seems to know what a person means yet purposefully does not answer the question as they want. Merely answering as asked word for word only
I would be interested in a what we know so far history of Ozma to Oscar
there is also the explaination for why ozpin knows salems backstory might be that the god of light might have told him when he asked ozma to reanimate into the world
RWBY THEORY: In a World created by Men the Women Suffer.
Please make a video about these theories and your thoughts on them.
Please and Thank You and advance
Can they trap Salem in one of these other dimensions? And if they could, who’s to say someone else didn’t trap Salem in Remnent? Seen as humanity seemingly had a second “birth” ?
She's canonically a Remnant Native inhabitant
She was cursed with Immortality BY the gods of Remnant
Humanity didn't "seemingly" have a Rebirth
They literally were reborn from the Magical Dust of the original run of Humanity
This is a good point. Oz has gods know how many skeletons in his closet over the centuries
Im pretty sure raven used the first question at which point she left. Id assume ozpin used more questions than what we know.
Are the holes in the loop or in the plot, that is the question
Or it’s it both?
Salem really is playing some 4d chess on everyone
While everyone else is playing Checkers
@@PhoenixNight yep at best Ozpin is playing 2d maybe 3d chess
I think that one other question was used by Raven. She must've asked a similar question as Ruby and the gang.
I think Salem wants Ozma to succeed to bring together all the people of Remnant, so she can have them tear themselves apart. Salem wants to prove a point to the Gods.
This theory makes a lot of sense to me
I found it curious she ended the 'vision' when he was about to tell Salem something. Quite odd. playful little ****, isn't she? :)
Hm, good points, very good points.
Hm, very interesting.
what if rwby and ornj gather the relics and summon the gods to ask them to get rid of salem. but if salem gather all four relics, it's game over to remnant. but if we could find out of salem's weakness, that will be the four relics, silver eyes, and the magic of the long memory.
She dies.
Yeah but as the video asked, why not during the war where Relics were out and about and chaos was everywhere
I WOULD have said "Oh she actually just wants to still play god" but uh, Salem should have started that quest waaaay earlier and would have won if due to sheer respawn spam
Ozpin's question was: "How do I destroy Salem?" (emphasize on the I)
Jinn's answers: "You can't." (emphasize on the YOU)
The relic of knowledge can't answer things that have yet to happen, so Jinn knows of a way, but didn't say it since Ozpin didn't word his question correctly. If he asked "How do we stop Salem?" that might reveal the answer.
Yup exactly, wording is everything when speaking to a genie and just like with Ambrosius, you have to be very specific.
What is the ultimate goal isn't to die but for her to continue her goal of him uniting Humanity together until someone is strong enough to defeat her enemy not Humanity but the ones who made her Immortal in the first place
We still don’t know what happened to ruby’s mom, and I’m certain that oz is trying to hide that from ruby
The guys RUNNING the show doesn't know anything about the show. How can we?
We learn the last volume is written by M Night Shyamalan. Expect plenty of twists. 😏
Omg I fricken love ur videos
wouldnt it be plausible to say jinn is filling in gaps for contet in answering whaat ozpin i hiiding from the group?
Quick question will volume 9 be out soon? Just curious.
We haven't gotten an exact release date yet but my guess would be that Volume 9 will start around late October or early November this year. I'm the meantime there will be RWBY Ice Queendom airing this summer
Thank you. Appreciate it.
As much as I love the episode ……… and hate Ozpin it’s honestly making me question what was in store
When is the new chapter of team srph coming
Nice video
Gonk
“Oz” can’t kill Salem.
It would be super cool to get a reply from h
