    Thanks so much for this video. I've never done forks before but in the last 2 hours I've gotten up to the point where you need to remove the hydraulic stops on both forks. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but forks were foreign to me. You made a seemingly intimidating job a breeze, I really appreciate it! Also for anyone looking to tackle this job you don't need the K-Tech cartridge holder tool(looks like a 1ft long deep socket) if you just put the fork cap on and snug it up to the damper tube.

      @@sportbiketrackgear thanks again, took my about 4hrs to do the job and the bike feels way better now, im putting a gsxr600 rear shock on the bike as well today so hopefully that goes well. Tha KS again for these videos, it's a huge help to guys like me that aren't afraid to tackle a job like this but need a helping hand!

    As a mechanic for quite a few years, I love your press out method for the hydraulic stop..
    A pro-tip, put a towel underneath your extensions so when you're banging down it absorbs some of your impact, metal on metal to concrete will cause tennis elbow.
    :)

      How did you like the electrical tape to protect the inside of the tube? When I do these I try to use tools that would be most readily available. I would bet that most suspension guys are cutting the fork the same way I did and never putting the inner tube in a lathe. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear I loved it all man! Very very basic run down of how to do it and effective.
      I wasn't trying to say you did it wrong or anything like that, I just wanted to maybe add that using a towel underneath would help with that pain in the elbow after 2 forks haha

    I'm eyeballing that old Scorpion Hurricane suit on the wall. Looks new! I really liked their street gear, shame they moved away from it.

      Scorpion still makes street gear, but no longer produces any leather race suits. - Van

    I just gotta invest in some tools. But it’s doable , if you are very handy , mechanically incline and use This and many other vids to get it done yourself. On that not. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do it on a Brand new bike. Lol. Great vid ! Super Educational

    Hey Van - I have the identical k-tech setup in my ninja 400. I am swapping out the springs for my weight from 8.0 to 8.5 and the 8.5 spring is about 2 inches longer than the 8.0.
    Can I just drop in the 8.5 and not worry about the spring length and spacer??

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว

      The springs should be the same length. If they are longer they are the wrong springs and you should not put them in. - Van

    I know it’s an old video, but will the Ohlins install be roughly the same? Also do you have to grind the fork tube on the Ohlins setup? Thanks
