mannnn I absolutely love trying out new builds and finding new fun ways of playing helldivers... really helps to keep things fresh in a game that can get a bit repetitive at times. Highly recommend u guys try out some new builds if you're the kinda player (like I used to be) who runs pretty much the same build every single mission. If u wana check out some of my other fun themed builds, have a look at some of these vids: Automaxxing (autocannon build): th-cam.com/video/9Yaq-MDhK8Y/w-d-xo.html Laser God (4 x laser build): th-cam.com/video/YLLtZLSXsk8/w-d-xo.html My close look at the buffed Purifier + my purifier build: th-cam.com/video/TxgwkyaarKQ/w-d-xo.html How I use the JAR5 Dominator incl. dominator build: th-cam.com/video/_JUAQtGuoAg/w-d-xo.html Enjoy
They keep trying to buff the guard dog by increasing the damage and durable damage but what it really needs is a bigger magazine and double the reload speed
One big issue is that the GD Rover, while having less damage, does everything the GD does but better. If they don't want to up the mag size, maybe give it the Liberator Penetrator statline. At least then it would be effective against tougher enemies
I agree, the best guns in the games are those with sustained fire capability. They keep flopping with the new assault rifles because you spend more time reloading than shooting
I love doing a similar build with the B-08 light gunner helmet, the MG-43, the HMG emplacement, the EAT-17, and the 380 barage. I’m also a bot diver. The MG-43 (with max firerate) is the MG-42, the HMG emplacement is for fun, the EAT-17 being the panzerfaust, and the 380 barrage being a bunch of sturmtigers. I call this build “The western front, late 1944.”
My MG build is Supply Pack, Precision Strike, Airstrike, Stun Grenades and of course, MG-43. This gives me essentially unlimited ammo, and I can still take down the occasional heavy. For Primary I'll often take something like one of the shotguns which gives good close range support, or the Eruptor which is great for taking down nests, since the MG is good enough for swarms.
Giv the explosive crossbow a try. Eruptor is fine but xbow is Silent meaning if you don't want to be noticed taking out the nests or fabs you can start the fight quiet before blowing the lid off with the big guns
I don't really run an mg build but I might try this sometime. I run an overwatch stealth type of build with an auto cannon to keep the gunships and devastators off of squad mates
Woah, I love the strafing run . It absolutely shreds, especially bugs. They take out shrieker nests in one hit, they damage heavy units and can take them out in a pinch.
The bugs tend to make long lines, especially if your team only mad dashes between objectives. I end up being the guy doing the cleanup at the rear. Fun times, though, and I am sure the Eagle-1 pilot enjoys racking up the big kills. 👍👍
Themed builds are so much fun. Sometimes it's ok to be non optimal - just go for a vibe and make it work. I really want to try a fire build - flamethrower, inc breaker, inc grenades, inc mines, napalm strike. It won't be optimal but it will be funny.
yeh iv been thinkin of makin a vid about that kinda build.. the only problem is that mines are not really usable in groups, cos too many team kills.. and so u can only really use them in solo play... which aint my vibe at all really hope they add a fire sentry or EXO soon so we can have a fully viable fire build
Your method of explanation is very beautiful, and your style is wonderful, as if you are a teacher. You even put a written explanation in the video. You have all my respect. Your brother is an Arab who lives in Saudi Arabia. Thank you, sir. ❤
Regular Guard Dog is so slept on for the bot front. On the bot front, there are less enemies but each one is more threatening requiring you to take them down quickly. The regular Guard Dog goes for headshots and can melt infantry, Beserkers, and all types of Devastators. Devastators will kill you easily and can be tricky to kill due to their armor, Beserkers are just annoying in general, and the small infantry are what calls bot drops so you need to kill them ASAP, and having a backpack that passively wipes the floor with those bots gives you so much more breathing room
The guard dog is far superior on the bot front because of the suppressing fire mechanic. Bots will have much worse accuracy when shot at and the guard dog basically gives you an invisible shield of inaccuracy.
I run a similar build quite often. People always hated on the regular guard dog but it was always, even at it's worst, useful against bots. For some reason, it was always very good at face shotting bots. It could kill Devastators quickly because it loved to put rounds right in their eye hole. With practice, you can get really good at hiding behind a rock and letting it work. Because it always flies on your right side, if you edge to the right side of a rock it will shoot while you are totally protected. I use that trick to clean up Heavy and Missile Devastators. Lately though, I've been one of those supply pack mooks. I love stun Grenades and the HMG to deal with Hulks, plus the HMG just cuts through every other bot at range besides a tank or Factory Strider, and even the Strider dies fast if you can get under it.
You can take Eruptor against Bile Spewers & Brood commanders & for bug hole closing, then a redeemer for smaller targets Supply pack for just being unkillable (Peak physique armor ability for better comfort with a machine gun) Plasma punisher & 110 MM rocket pods / Any other AT stratagem capable of destroying Bile titan's armor, then aim its meat to kill it Change machine gun sentry to a rocket one to deal with the heavies Take 500 kilo eagle instead of gatling barrage to deal with heavies Or just go nuts and take Gatling & Machine gun sentries, resupply pack, machine gun, redeemer and Breaker Incendiary to be the true god of BULLET
Give the senator a go when you run a light pen shotgun. It cracks head and leg armor on elite units. If you miss too many out of 6 shots to pop the heads of everything in front of you, the armor being cracked lets your shotty do it. You aren't doing stun grenade and grenade pistol though?
Window Vulnerability is my go-to for killing Chargers, without spending grenades. While it's a bug, I'd really like for it to become a feature skillcheck, just making it more consistent. You can do it practically with any weapon. My initial go-to was Stalwart, until buffed other MG's with faster reload speeds and fixed Peak Physique. It works something like this: Let the charger slide past you and shoot it's hind leg. If the leg is not taking dmg - shoot the sack and then try leg, damaging sack may expose the leg to damage. Once you see that hind leg is taking damage, front legs may also start taking damage, making it easier if the bug turned around and is chasing you again. As a result, in total you may spend much less time and bullets killing chargers, especially if there are a lot of them. It is really easy to do on basic Chargers, and interestingly enough that it's quite a bit harder, but still possible, to do on Behemoths, just requires a bit better timing (so I guess it kinda is a skill-based feature now :D). However, overall it requires good positioning to use successfully, otherwise you might end up slamming into walls hard, especially with Behemoth Chargers. Stunning the bug may prevent vulnerability from coming up, as it ideally needs to be sliding. Funnily enough, you can see Mogz damaging exposed legs by accident at around 9:23 as the bug slid a bit forward, showing that the window was there.
I'm glad you shouted out the bullet dog lol, its got great damage but its just in bursts, the ammo isn't too hard to manage but a bad reload can leave you high and dry lol
The HMG emplacement actually has pretty good utility for destroying buildings like shrieker nests from a safe distance in one call down. I don't use it for actual fights unless we are on an objective with a decent position for it. Also I recently killed a low hp bile titan with a laser canon by shooting the green underside of the big tail section, so anything with similar penetration should be able to kill a titan on it's own.
I found this video months ago and its been my go to loadout ever since. They only thing I changed was using the crossbow for the primary instead for bug holes and thermites for heavy enemies because of the new patch. I love this build so much.
Strafing run is pretty slept on actually, you just need to know it's strengths to use it right. •It comes out the fastest out of any offensive stratagem in the game in just 2 seconds. •It always goes in a straight line away from you making it very precise •It has a low cooldown of 7.5 seconds (after first hanger upgrade) between each of it's 4 (5 with third upgrade) uses This makes it one of the few stratagems that can be called it close and still have you and your allies be perfectly safe. A common use being to toss at ramps/valleys that you're holding or at your feet behind yourself when you're being chased. It works fine on the bots but I'd recommend only using it for the bugs as they tend to bunch up and form lines chasing after you and it will kill everything that isn't a Brood Commander(heavily injured), Charger or Bile Titan (it still deals damage to them but not enough to reliably kill them). Use them more as extra grenades to clear out lines of enemies rather than the way you normally use stratagems where you toss them into the center of hordes.
with the last patch that buffed stratagems and guns before they had to buff stratagems and guns this month, the strafing run gained it's heavy pen then and it SHREDS everything below a bile spewer while being capable of doing enough damage to peel some of the armor off heavies. definitely slept on, but hopefully people see its use, if the gatling barrage could get into the limelight, im sure the strafe can too
since the new patch ive just been running mg 43 guard dog gatling and machine gun turrets. Which i called the 'I NEED MORE BULLETS" build. It appears we are on the same wavelength here.
Love this! Been wanting to do a bullet raining build for a while now. For bugs I've been doing a blitzer/rover combo and I'm seeing pretty crazy results. It's tough to play the blitzer without the rover is my only complaint so far. Just not a lot of range and stopping power, but the stagger is great!
To improve against heavy, I would replace machine gun and airstrike with heavy orbital and laser. Have thermites as grenades along with armor with more nades. You will have more than enough firepower to take on everything. But this built heavily relies on your teammates to cover when you reload, wait for your cooldown, having good positioning, and taking care of flankers. Shrikers and warriors bug will be your worse enemy. The build is great when the enemy is coming onto you in a single line from far away. Best you can do to compensate is to use a primary with big ammo clips and low recoil. Run and kite until it’s your moment to shine
Against the bots, the quick-cooldown EMS sentry will generally serve you better than carrying stun generates now that you can allegedly specify its target, so I'd do that with the orbital rail strike and normal grenades alongside your weapon choices... but that said, damn, I love your commitment to the bit by sticking with the theme. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
One huge advantage of the MG backpack over the laser is the greatly reduced number of friendly fire kills. Fun build. I agree the MG43 is underrated. Against BOTs, one feels the lack of heavy armor pen unless someone else picks up the slack.
Funny timing, I've just been running a similar build! You mentioned ammo concerns a few times and my logic was the same, so I went with the Supply Pack and the Stalwart, which means I can basically always reposition if needs be and always be shooting (since I can reload on the move). Gatling Barrage and in my case Precision Strike means I can always respond with something, and makes chargers less of a concern for me as I don't bring stun grenades (I lack Democratic Detonation and don't want to be without bug hole killing capability) as well as giving me something to throw at Bile Titans. The real spicy pick is I've actually gone with the Knight as my primary. Using the Stalwart with so much ammo means I basically have that as a primary, and the Knight can be my backup weapon for when I've not reloaded yet but Hunters are about to hit me, and in that situation specifically it has performed pretty well given its crazy DPS. But yeah, the large amount of ammo means I'm not afraid to ramp the Stalwart up to full RoF at the slightest provocation, too, which helps mitigate the armour of some spitters and Brood Commanders somewhat. It's been a blast!
the 900 setting on the mg is one of the best tools for dealing with stalkers. i started running it for that, and then kinda just realized its a beast in most scenarios, and has longevity on the slowest fire rate. its almost so good i wouldnt be surprised if they nerf it, say by lowers the highest setting to 800. you might be interested in a mortar loadout kinda like this one mg one. grenade launcher, plasma shotgun, mortar sentry, ammo pack, grenade pistol, maybe the ems mortar? the fun thing is being able to lob a ton of damage over walls or distances. more or less shooting straight up with the grenade launcher for example, you can actually get pretty good range. the hang time makes it hard to be accurate, so it is more about covering an area with splash. the grenade pistol and plasma shotgun also have high arcs. the only thing is for this to be standoff you need visibility over 100m, and the game constantly seems to be nerfing visibility to 10m, so it doesn't seem like the game wants you to be playing with a mortar loadout, but it is a fun different approach to the gameplay.
I'm watching this, and I immediately thought of a way to not only improve the standard guard dog as well as the rover, but differentiate the two as well. •To improve the Guard Dog: increase mag size OR decrease rate of fire while increasing stagger & damage so the dps stays roughly the same. Rather than decreasing reload time (and risk breaking anims, which is probably why they haven't done that); instead allow it to reload without docking, removing the time it takes to relaunch and open fire. •To improve the Rover: Rework targeting so it prioritizes enemies closest to you, with a secondary priority of smallest. Additionally, give it the ability to ignite small swathes of the ground the laser sweeps over, akin to how the orbital laser does. Lastly, as a way to give them additional utility and differentiation, I propose giving them pack use commands, like how the supply pack works: •By pressing down on the D-pad (assuming you're on console) with the guard dog, it remains stationary. This increases individual target damage and armor penetration to medium, switches to a 3-shot burst, and prioritizes larger targets over fodder. Press again to recall, as it does also pull aggro similar to how a turret does. •By pressing down on the D-pad with the rover, it flies to your last mark (pressing R1), and circles the area to patrol, but has some additional utilities; press again to recall at any time. If you mark an objective, it flies to it and performs recon, marking targets within a certain range. If you mark an enemy, it rapidly circles said enemy, pelting it with a constant laser and pulling aggro until it dies or is recalled. If you mark a sentry, it guards the sentry, attacking any enemy that is too close for the sentry to engage. If anyone is in the official Discord, feel free to share this there, if they have a suggestion channel. Hopefully the devs will take it into consideration.
The only thing I will personally change for my own taste is the gatling eagle run to the cluster bomb. Not technically bullet swarm but it's a carpet, close enough, and you get 5 uses before the big cool down. Usually 5 is plenty enough to get through a tough battle up to a calmer section where you can manually reset the eagle.
Statistically speaking, the normal guard dog has always been the better of the two, the only thing the Rover has over it is unlimited ammo. The normal guard dog has a better damage stat, better targeting(always aims for head-shots.), where as the Rover just aims at a threat not prioritizing any body parts. The normal guard dog almost almost never kills its user or the users teammates due how it fires. The only thing it needs is the ability to regain mags from the ammo boxes found on the ground in missions, even if it was just 1 or 2 mags it would be game changing. Ive been using the normal guard dog for ages, sadly it has a bug that causes it to miscount kills so that one kill counts as four.
Strafing run is an amazing eagle call in and saying otherwise is super slander towards Eagle 1, our most prized gun in the sky, this is a warning, you only get one.
I've been running a variation of this for a while when I can get away with not taking the anti-tank role. I use the laser guard dog instead, for obvious reasons, and the Eagle Air Strike which is probably one of the best all around get-all-the-jobs-done stratagems there is. The only other build I've messed around with that consistently gets me in the neighborhood of the same kill count is a grenade launcher build I use. I prefer to use the grenade launcher build on heavy bile spewer planets and the machine gun otherwise but it's not a hard rule, they're both effective.
This inspired me to run a machine gunner build. Mg-43, hmg emplacement, gatling sentry, and orbital gatling barrage. Pair that with some heavy armor. Its a great support build and can handle armor if your positioned right. Plus the hmg emplacement is slept on. Place it properly and at SHREADS everything up to hulks. First build that got me away from my amr sniper build.
With the buffs of the latest patch i ve found this to be my favourite anti Bug build: Primary: Flamethrower Pistol: Nade Pistol Nades: Thermites Armor CE-07: 30% less recoil and 2 nades more. Great synergy with MG and Thermites Strata 1: MG-43 Strata 2: Eagle Strike/Napalm Eagle/500kg Strata 3: MG 43 Sentry Strata 4: Gatling Sentry/Orbital Airburst It shines in crowd control but is still allround. You can put down layers of fire and make short work of medium bugs who get through with the MG43. The Sentrys, especially the MG43 Sentry, reduced cooldown times let you call them very often. I ve had insane kill streaks going on in spreading Democracy. For heavies the Thermite is all i need. It does the job vs Bugs. Dont like to rely on orbital heavy killers because of their horrible cooldown. In the main heavy killer role Thermites just need the ammo increase from the armor.
My go-to is Supply Pack with Mg-43, plus Railcannon and 500KG to drop on anything my MG can’t deal with, heavy armor, HE grenades and grenade pistol for Fabs and Holes, and either the breaker incendiary for bugs, or either the Adjudicator or Eruptor for bots. Gotta have that extra little medium armor pen option for when my MG needs to be reloaded and I’ve got like, 5 devastators breathing on my face.
Ive been running machine guns since the game has come out. machine guns are underrated, and i still have so much fun using them to destroy hoards of bugs.
I've been CONSTANTLY been using the MG-43 and have loved it since day 1 to the point my friends have dubbed me the "machine gunner" of the group (which is obvious but feels good when the title is given to you by others) and I've always used it for Bots cause me and my friends only play bots so sorry to any bug lovers. I ofc personally run my loadout differently, as I personally use the Liberator or Sickle and the Peacemaker or Senator. For stratagems I use the Eagle Airstrike or Eagle strafing run. I use the air strike for the heavy targets that maybe too much for my team or if any other AT isn't available and the strafing run cause it looks sick and in case the MG-43 just isn't enough, next stratagem for me would be 120mm artillery. Just like any other Helldiver I love blowing things up and there's times where theres just so much that not even the MG-43 or anything else can handle so I use it to clear out MASSIVE groups of enemies especially groups of heavy and medium enemies. Lastly but CERTAINLY not least I use the supply box to help me team and to quickly resupply myself if I ever fully run out of ammo on the MG-43 (The MG-43 only). When It comes to armor I use the one that reduces recoil when crouched or prone and gives %50 explosive protection cause bots like to spam explosives... (edit: when it comes to nades I personally use the G-6 frags just cause they look cool but if you're looking for something really useful I suggest Thermites, stuns, smokes, or impacts) Just like you ofc the purpose of the build is to target the small and medium dudes so your team has an easier time killing the bigger ones. One thing thats important about MG-43 builds is that the gun has MEDIUM ARMOR pen. For example at 13:40 you could've killed that dev easily if you stuck with the MG-43 (Probably would've died to the other bots but point still stands) while yes it was at 900 rpm and for some people thats hard to control even with the recoil reduction but trust your MG. The way I see it as a veteran MG Helldiver. If you trust your MG, your team can trust you.
Suggestion, the Infinite Stalwart build. - Stalwart - Supply backpack - Expendable missile launchers - Stratagem of choice Maximize RPM and go nuts because you will NOT run out of ammo.
I've been always interested in WW2 small unit/infantry tactics and always loved the fire support role in a squad/platoon. In every military shooter game, I love playing as the guy with the machine gun, going prone and just laying down suppressive/covering fire
The only thing I’ve done differently with this build is changed out the gattling barrage with the 110 rocket pods because it can break blue Titan armor and open it up to attacks from the machine gun and it can completely take out chargers
I just realised something fun; could do ‘BORDERLANDS’ themed load outs. Maybe for this video series or for elsewhere . . It occurred to me because this loadout is almost what I would pick for a VLADAF themed loadout. I think the only thing I would change is swap out the Grenade pistol for the automatic pistol. For a TORGUE loadout, you’d have the grenade pistol, and the grenade launcher, and perhaps the bolt action as a primary since it’s explosive . . ? There are heaps of things that would fit this loadout. Autocannon, EAT, Commando launcher, rocket sentry . .
You can sacrifice the Machnine Gun Sentry for Precision Strike or Rocket Pods for the Bile Titans if you don't want relying on anyone from the squad. Btw, all machine guns now shred, Stalwart, HMG. Atm the loadout I use most is: Suit with Peak Physique Perk (light for bugs, heavy for Automatons) Dominator, P19 Redeemer, Stun Gren Orbital Presicion, Napalm Airstike, Barrage and Autocannon. You can use a auto cannon Sentry but in my case I really dislike to use them. In this loadout you shred medium armor, you deal with Chargers with the AutoCannon, you can use Precision for Titans and as for the kill counter (if you really care for this) just throw a barrage or Napalm spot on a breach and enjoy. 😊
Damn it, I liked the idea. But I am not ready to completely abandon the anti-tank options and perhaps I will replace the backpack with a high-precision strike or 110 millimeter missile blocks. Well, as a personal weapon, I'll take something more specific, since I'll have a machine gun at the core anyway. Hmm... I think some kind of plasma weapon is good for this, especially with 110mm blocks. Oh my God, I'm really excited about this idea.
@@Starshina200 For bots, I've been trying this build lately, and IMO, if you are a machine gun player, this the combination to play. This combo shines on the bot units people hate the most: Medium Infrantry. You'll find it's really, really good at killing groups of medium infantry. The strategy is this: use the Punisher to stagger/soften up medium-armored enemies (Strider Scouts, Devastators and the Chainsaw Berserkers). Then quick switch to the MG43 and lay waste to them while they're stunned and immobilized. Primate: Punisher Support: MG43 Stun Grenades Armor w/Engineering Kit Perk (for MG recoil, and the six grenades). Your stratagems should give you a way to kill Fabricators, as well as Hulks/Tanks/Factor Striders. Orbital Rail Cannon or Rocket Pods... paired with Precision Orbital Laser or Eagle Airstrike. I like to use Orbital Rail Cannon and Eagle Airstrike. It really depends on the mission and your team. If you don't have the Punisher, a high stagger weapon like the JAR-5 Dominator, or the R-36 Eruptor can do as a replacement. Save the stun grenades for Hulks, and occasions/emergencies when you need them for a big group of enemies. Lone Gunships, you can shoot them down with some patience and cover, by hitting their little engines. Keep a close eye on your target reticule to make sure your shots are hitting the armored engines, and not deflecting off the body of the gunship. Groups of gunships are more difficult, and will surround you if you're not careful. Something to think about. Tanks, you will have to put a full magazine of the MG43 into the heatsink to kill. This seems like a tall order, but might be surprised how often you can pull it off. You can switch to 900 RPM before you assault the tank. You can also take out one of the treads, and immobilize it... but this soaks up a lot of ammo too. So you'll want a stratagem (or a teammate) who can deal with Tanks. The primary/support weapons cannot deal with tanks from the front. Factory Striders, I still don't really have a good strategy with this build. I know it's possible to kill them w/the MG43, via shooting their belly, but I've never gotten it to work. The MG43 really struggles to knock out the Factory Striders front turrets under its chin. So, again, select stratagems (or teammates) who can handle Factor Striders.
@@wolfumz Since scatter is not active for bot missions, I would recommend swapping Railcannon for Precision Strike instead. Precision Strike is overall better against Factory Striders because 1) it has a much shorter cooldown, 2) call-in time makes Precision Strike relatively easy to use, 3) Precision Strike is manually aimed so it won't target the Strider's cannon turret unlike Railcannon and because of 3), 4) you can throw down both Precision Strike and Eagle Airstrike to nearly instantly kill a Factory Strider
@@wolfumz Also personally, I like the default MG a lot, but against swarms of medium infantry or huge concentrations of fodder there is still no better option than the Grenade Launcher.
I use Mg-43, auto cannon sentry, eagle air strike and orbital precision strike. Its a good balance for me. Also i use the adjudicator, the grenade pistol and incendiary grenades. It helps with crowd control.
@@Mogz-hd oh no I didn't even realize it was the full teams re-supply. If you can manage to shoot or call an orbital down in the same spot, sometimes the explosion from the drop pod can fling the desired items down to you. And it can be a great way to get a turret, especially a mortar, in a safe position.
A more casual and carful version of this build that and a small change I’ve had to make since escalation of freedom is swapping the turret for the Patriot exo, as that into the rotation and you can really hold the line. I know it kind of kills the build but it’s more effective on higher difficulties
I am new to the game, just reached level 9, I LOVE the MG-42, I would use the MG-42 with the supply backpack some cluster bombs and the machine gun turret. I would sometimes change the supply backpack for the eagle strike to have much more explosion.
ATM I’m running supply pack + heavy machine gun against the bots and literally killing EVERYTHING. Berserkers are nothing, scout striders only take a few shots to the legs, devastates die almost *instantly*, hulks only take a couple well placed shots to the eye (pretty easy at mid-close range). Can shoot down gunships with a bit of fire at their engines. Even tanks, cannon turrets and freaking factory striders die in like 2 seconds of fire at their weak spots. New heavy mg is CRAZY
A well trained german soldier would fire his MG-43 in bursts, usually about five rounds. Keeps you from chewing threw the belt and keeps your shots on target. Do not hold tha trigger unless you are so close you can't miss
my personal bullet hell loadout :MG-43 / supply backpack / both the minigun and the mg turret. Depending on my teammates i swap out one of the turrets for gas strike or napalm.
Nice video, I've been using a similar build recently because I love MGs and got tired of using the flamethrower all the time. Still working on getting the grenade pistol, and I usually bring the laser drone and either the 500KG or Railcannon instead of gatling. The MG is just way too fun.
This is actually surprisingly similar to a build I've recently made, tho mine is more an all-arounder build. Basically so I can be ready and prepared for any situation in some way or another. And, of course, the machine gun stratagem is my main weapon of choice lol
Don't forget, you can go full Predator "CONTAAACT" mode with this setup which increases your testosterone production to Arnold Schwarzenegger levels. 😂
Against the bots , I would rather go with the HMG. My personal build using machine guns is : Bots - HMG , punisher plasma , stuns, ammo pack or shield , eagle strikes (I don't have the grenade pistol) , precision strikes. That can cover everything all around , even taking care of Sauron eyes and jammer with the precision strike For the bugs , I would take your build , just replacing the turrets for a 500 kg to make it viable against bile titans. The Gatling feel enough to deal with rest.
I usually like being on crowd control when fighting bugs if the other players have Anti heavy strats. The little guys can pile up if not dealt with immediately.
uhhh its accuracy is incredible lol it constantly snipes units in the head for me and yeh almost never kills the user but yeh it should have infinite ammo (even if it has to constantly reload - to balance it with the laser drone).. or AT LEAST resupply its ammo using ammo crates. Currently can only resupply it with supplies, which is just ridiculous
My own setup is very similar, but i replace the machinegun turret with a patriot exo and the rover with a supply pack, allows me to have tons of ammo, stims and nades. Plus patriot exo very cool
thanks :) CE-27 Ground Breaker (Engineering Kit, which gives 30% recoil reduction when crouching/prone, and +2 grenades). Its in the Democratic Detonation warbond definitely recommend a recoil reduction passive when running the machine gun
I use the MG-43 and Supplypack combo regularly against bugs with good success. Let me say that if I could engrave anything onto my weapons in game I would put "Till it's empty" on my MG-43. I'll have to try the sentry with it.
Honestly I would say either swap to the beam rover or swap to the supply backpack. One will be better for dps obviously but the other would give you more uses for your stun grenades and MG mags in case things get dicey and you suddenly realize you're on your last mag and have another few minutes for a supply drop, no ammo boxes on the ground, and about to be swarmed.
lvoe this build as a fellow MG-43 enjoyer... just so you know after the buff to the Knight it's actually a fairly competent sidearm in close ranges (though it still empties a lot... i also run the supply pack religiously so i don't mind)
this seems like a really fun build. How bad is the ammo economy with the mg? Have you experimented with bringing the supply pack instead of the guard dog?
yep that was my original build (supply backpack) but i found that i wasnt needing to use it cos i prioritise using MG only for medium armour, chargers and urgent swarm clear. Otherwise used sickle. so i think ammo economy rly depends on how much u wana use the MG
Thanks for the build, looking forward to try it ingame. Is it possibile to swap the machine gun for stalwart? If im not mistaken i believe that the stalwart have higher RPM, but maybe its light armor pen.
yeh the only issue with stalwart is the low armor pen.. if u take that, then i think u'd need a medium armor pen primary.. so.. dominator i guess would be best. edit: or adjudicator cos faster fire rate.. fits better with the "Fast firing" theme of the build actually that was one of my early considerations for this build.. was gona do adjudicator + stalwart. then decided to make it more of a MG themed build n went MG + mg turret instead (n then sickle for primary)
@@Mogz-hd yeah that makes sense, i think the peak physique armor passive will fit very nice with this build. how about a fire build for next video? flamethrower feels OP, specially against chargers.
I know it doesn't fit in this build but the HMG emplacement is so strong against bugs and bots. Bring some AT weapons or stratagems and when there is a breach or bot drop throw it down and happy mowing.
How long ago did you try the Strafing run? Since they buffed it, it’s really strong, like it wrecks devastators and packs of troopers! Highly recommend giving it another try. I might end up switching out Gatling Barrage with it. Either that or I’ll use Strafing run for bots and barrage for bugs
tried it after the buff. preferred the gatling barrage. iv honestly never seen anyone use it ever so i didnt think that would be a controversial opinion haha.. getn lots of comments about that opinion tho! but yeh aight il give it another go i guess. Just found it kinda useless in most situations n would always prefer a diff air strike/orbital
mannnn I absolutely love trying out new builds and finding new fun ways of playing helldivers... really helps to keep things fresh in a game that can get a bit repetitive at times. Highly recommend u guys try out some new builds if you're the kinda player (like I used to be) who runs pretty much the same build every single mission.
If u wana check out some of my other fun themed builds, have a look at some of these vids:

Pls make pyro build
Because you’re using stun you should try shooting the inside of the back leg. It should pop him even faster. (charger)
@@Mogz-hd i love trying new builds. But playing on helldive with just me and buddy means we need every strategem to carry its weight.
Nice fun build, I'll probably swap the drone out for a supply pack tho
@@damienmcdonald7610 yeh that was my original build actually :)
They keep trying to buff the guard dog by increasing the damage and durable damage but what it really needs is a bigger magazine and double the reload speed
agree
One big issue is that the GD Rover, while having less damage, does everything the GD does but better. If they don't want to up the mag size, maybe give it the Liberator Penetrator statline. At least then it would be effective against tougher enemies
The guard dog runs out of ammo instantly and isn't restocked by ammo boxes only supplies. So it's effectively useless
I agree, the best guns in the games are those with sustained fire capability. They keep flopping with the new assault rifles because you spend more time reloading than shooting
Liberator penetrator needs a +20 damage buff. Oh and ALL ASSAULT RIFLES NEED A MAGAZINE BUFF OF 5 TO 10 EXTRA BULLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTSSSSSS😮
The first person to ever use a nonlaser guard dog.
i am a guard dog pioneer!
I saw it used a few times
Hate the Rover. Always gives me laser lobotomies
I'd happily use the regular one over the rover, if I could refill it with ammo boxes and not just supply packs
I primary use the liberator one too. The lazer one TKs too much. Plus the liberator one has a faster TTK and tends to go for head shots.
I’m ngl the mellow acoustic guitar music got a chuckle out of me cause it sounded like a Helldiver recalling the good times with his squad. 😂
I was thinking the same thing. "Malevelon Creek? Man, you wouldn't understand if you weren't there in the sh*t..."
Same, this loadoutot is super fun but I only use it when I hop in random lobbies and everyone else has AT support weapons
If you run HMG instead of MG, with the Peak Physique armor, it's easy to take out the gunships.
@@cybbles Toe, but I find the low recoil to be better, you can get longer bursts on target easier. Aim speed is only really important are close ranges
based and strafe pilled
Themed builds are so much fun. Sometimes it's ok to be non optimal - just go for a vibe and make it work.
I really want to try a fire build - flamethrower, inc breaker, inc grenades, inc mines, napalm strike. It won't be optimal but it will be funny.
yeh iv been thinkin of makin a vid about that kinda build.. the only problem is that mines are not really usable in groups, cos too many team kills.. and so u can only really use them in solo play... which aint my vibe at all
really hope they add a fire sentry or EXO soon so we can have a fully viable fire build
The latest warbond is all about the FIRE. New flamer primarys AND secondary AND Fire resistant armor.
Terrible now after fire nerf... I tried it.
Can confirm, it's my favorite way to play, I do indeed want to watch the world burn bwaha
Your method of explanation is very beautiful, and your style is wonderful, as if you are a teacher. You even put a written explanation in the video. You have all my respect. Your brother is an Arab who lives in Saudi Arabia. Thank you, sir. ❤

"Can absolutely rain down hell :)"
You can take Eruptor against Bile Spewers & Brood commanders & for bug hole closing, then a redeemer for smaller targets
Supply pack for just being unkillable (Peak physique armor ability for better comfort with a machine gun)
Plasma punisher & 110 MM rocket pods / Any other AT stratagem capable of destroying Bile titan's armor, then aim its meat to kill it
Change machine gun sentry to a rocket one to deal with the heavies
Take 500 kilo eagle instead of gatling barrage to deal with heavies
Or just go nuts and take Gatling & Machine gun sentries, resupply pack, machine gun, redeemer and Breaker Incendiary to be the true god of BULLET
It works something like this:
Let the charger slide past you and shoot it's hind leg.
6:15 that joylike music is so contrast to the situation
hahaha fr
This looks like so much fun.. gonna give it a try. Thanks Mogz!
The contrast of the soft acoustic music against the mass killing of bugs is my favourite Monday morning content.
I'm glad you shouted out the bullet dog lol, its got great damage but its just in bursts, the ammo isn't too hard to manage but a bad reload can leave you high and dry lol
"The bullet dog" is an awesome name for it
The HMG emplacement actually has pretty good utility for destroying buildings like shrieker nests from a safe distance in one call down. I don't use it for actual fights unless we are on an objective with a decent position for it. Also I recently killed a low hp bile titan with a laser canon by shooting the green underside of the big tail section, so anything with similar penetration should be able to kill a titan on it's own.
2:27 smartest Helldiver
I found this video months ago and its been my go to loadout ever since. They only thing I changed was using the crossbow for the primary instead for bug holes and thermites for heavy enemies because of the new patch. I love this build so much.
Strafing run is pretty slept on actually, you just need to know it's strengths to use it right.
•It comes out the fastest out of any offensive stratagem in the game in just 2 seconds.
•It always goes in a straight line away from you making it very precise
•It has a low cooldown of 7.5 seconds (after first hanger upgrade) between each of it's 4 (5 with third upgrade) uses
This makes it one of the few stratagems that can be called it close and still have you and your allies be perfectly safe.
The gun dog is one of my favorite strats in the game. Nice to see it get more love
I love the calming music! The contrast is funny 😂
The HMG emplacement is far more useful against bots than the orbital gatling barrage.
Tip: you are not affected by stun grenades while diving, so you can just throw a stun grenade at a charger while running at and diving past it.
the 900 setting on the mg is one of the best tools for dealing with stalkers. i started running it for that, and then kinda just realized its a beast in most scenarios, and has longevity on the slowest fire rate. its almost so good i wouldnt be surprised if they nerf it, say by lowers the highest setting to 800.
you might be interested in a mortar loadout kinda like this one mg one. grenade launcher, plasma shotgun, mortar sentry, ammo pack, grenade pistol, maybe the ems mortar? the fun thing is being able to lob a ton of damage over walls or distances. more or less shooting straight up with the grenade launcher for example, you can actually get pretty good range. the hang time makes it hard to be accurate, so it is more about covering an area with splash. the grenade pistol and plasma shotgun also have high arcs. the only thing is for this to be standoff you need visibility over 100m, and the game constantly seems to be nerfing visibility to 10m, so it doesn't seem like the game wants you to be playing with a mortar loadout, but it is a fun different approach to the gameplay.
mortar loadout sounds really fun i will definitely give that one a go! thank u for the suggestion! :)
and good point re: high fire rate for stalkers!
Lastly, as a way to give them additional utility and differentiation, I propose giving them pack use commands, like how the supply pack works:
•By pressing down on the D-pad (assuming you're on console) with the guard dog, it remains stationary.
Great build info and i will be trying it out very soon. thanks
1:17 the overkill is truly magnificent
amazing isnt it
That backpack should really use the stalwart.
haha that would be so awesome
the devs know this when they added in maniacal laughter when you keep shooting.
Was running this nearly the same way except with the Stalwart but with no medium pen I also switched to the OG machine gun. :)
With the buffs of the latest patch i ve found this to be my favourite anti Bug build:
Primary: Flamethrower
Pistol: Nade Pistol
Nades: Thermites
Armor CE-07: 30% less recoil and 2 nades more. Great synergy with MG and Thermites
Strata 1: MG-43
Strata 2: Eagle Strike/Napalm Eagle/500kg
Strata 3: MG 43 Sentry
Strata 4: Gatling Sentry/Orbital Airburst
It shines in crowd control but is still allround.
(edit: when it comes to nades I personally use the G-6 frags just cause they look cool but if you're looking for something really useful I suggest Thermites, stuns, smokes, or impacts)
Just like you ofc the purpose of the build is to target the small and medium dudes so your team has an easier time killing the bigger ones.
- Stalwart
- Supply backpack
- Expendable missile launchers
- Stratagem of choice
Maximize RPM and go nuts because you will NOT run out of ammo.
also the chargers butt has a 90% damage decrease to bullets from what ive heard so using the grenade pistol would work well too
I've been always interested in WW2 small unit/infantry tactics and always loved the fire support role in a squad/platoon.
Autocannon, EAT, Commando launcher, rocket sentry . .
My favorite builds are when you use support weapons as your main source of damage and your primary is for specialty targets or spawners
You can sacrifice the Machnine Gun Sentry for Precision Strike or Rocket Pods for the Bile Titans if you don't want relying on anyone from the squad.
Btw, all machine guns now shred, Stalwart, HMG.
Atm the loadout I use most is:
Suit with Peak Physique Perk (light for bugs, heavy for Automatons)
Dominator, P19 Redeemer, Stun Gren
Orbital Presicion, Napalm Airstike, Barrage and Autocannon.
Primate: Punisher
Support: MG43
Stun Grenades
Armor w/Engineering Kit Perk (for MG recoil, and the six grenades).
@@wolfumz
Since scatter is not active for bot missions, I would recommend swapping Railcannon for Precision Strike instead.
@@wolfumz
Also personally, I like the default MG a lot, but against swarms of medium infantry or huge concentrations of fodder there is still no better option than the Grenade Launcher.
I use Mg-43, auto cannon sentry, eagle air strike and orbital precision strike. Its a good balance for me. Also i use the adjudicator, the grenade pistol and incendiary grenades. It helps with crowd control.
Even better with the commando armour "Peak physique" perk reducing weapon sway
I love themed builds, they are so much fun to use. I hope you'll find other fun builds like that !
That person's supplies getting caught on the cave roof in the last milisecond 😂😭
lolll yeh that was so annoying actually lol
@@Mogz-hd oh no I didn't even realize it was the full teams re-supply. If you can manage to shoot or call an orbital down in the same spot, sometimes the explosion from the drop pod can fling the desired items down to you. And it can be a great way to get a turret, especially a mortar, in a safe position.
The liberator drone needs a comparable ammo amount to the Stalwart, especially when compared with the laser drone which never reloads.
agree def needs more ammo in mag
A more casual and carful version of this build that and a small change I’ve had to make since escalation of freedom is swapping the turret for the Patriot exo, as that into the rotation and you can really hold the line. I know it kind of kills the build but it’s more effective on higher difficulties
Agreed that standard gaurd dog is underrated I use it all the time, the ammo is a problem but the damage and small enemy clearance is great
I am new to the game, just reached level 9, I LOVE the MG-42, I would use the MG-42 with the supply backpack some cluster bombs and the machine gun turret.
The wholesome music was 🤌
Don't forget, you can go full Predator "CONTAAACT" mode with this setup which increases your testosterone production to Arnold Schwarzenegger levels. 😂
The Machinegun is so good. It is the first support weapon and despite that I use it all the time.
Against the bots , I would rather go with the HMG.
My personal build using machine guns is :
Bots - HMG , punisher plasma , stuns, ammo pack or shield , eagle strikes (I don't have the grenade pistol) , precision strikes.
That can cover everything all around , even taking care of Sauron eyes and jammer with the precision strike
For the bugs , I would take your build , just replacing the turrets for a 500 kg to make it viable against bile titans. The Gatling feel enough to deal with rest.
The starting run isn’t terrible my guy. Used right, it’s awesome.
i no likey
I usually like being on crowd control when fighting bugs if the other players have Anti heavy strats. The little guys can pile up if not dealt with immediately.
Guard dog is definitely slept on. I like it sometimes because it doesn't accidentally strafe you or your teammates nearly ever.
It has only 6 mags and "bad" accuracy. 😢
It needs 10 mags. 😊
uhhh its accuracy is incredible lol it constantly snipes units in the head for me
and yeh almost never kills the user
but yeh it should have infinite ammo (even if it has to constantly reload - to balance it with the laser drone).. or AT LEAST resupply its ammo using ammo crates. Currently can only resupply it with supplies, which is just ridiculous
Don't have too much fun with this build or Arrowhead might Nerf this.
This sounds super fun and if you swap out the gatling barrage or guard dog you can get EAT for bile titans. Or use commandos
My own setup is very similar, but i replace the machinegun turret with a patriot exo and the rover with a supply pack, allows me to have tons of ammo, stims and nades.
Plus patriot exo very cool
This guys gets it. All machineguns, everywhere. Brrrrrrt
frfr
nice video! what armor set are you using?
thanks :)
CE-27 Ground Breaker (Engineering Kit, which gives 30% recoil reduction when crouching/prone, and +2 grenades). Its in the Democratic Detonation warbond
definitely recommend a recoil reduction passive when running the machine gun
there are 5 elements you can make builds out of: laser, fire, gas, electric and bullet
I use the MG-43 and Supplypack combo regularly against bugs with good success. Let me say that if I could engrave anything onto my weapons in game I would put "Till it's empty" on my MG-43. I'll have to try the sentry with it.
Giving enemies the Verdun experience
I've been basically running this loadout except not using stun nades and using crossbow and rocket pod instead of dog.
Imagine a full squad of this loadout. Optimal? Nah. Hilarious? hooo boy yez
I love the guard dog so fucking much, it would be so much more viable without that reloading thing or lower cooldowns for deployement
Hmg emplacement is op
oh yeh its insane.. i just dont rly like sittin still lol
5:50 running in front of a sentry is probably the worst thing you can do with them, unless you WANT to get a bunch of teamkills
yuh im not dumb tho so only in situations where front is clear
For me I'd change the rover for a supply pack for infinite ammo and stims and kg bomb for self defence if a bile titan rushes you.
the guard dog should replenish ammo from ammo boxes as well, idk why it does not, every back pack does
totally agree
Thanks for the build, looking forward to try it ingame.
Is it possibile to swap the machine gun for stalwart? If im not mistaken i believe that the stalwart have higher RPM, but maybe its light armor pen.
yeh the only issue with stalwart is the low armor pen.. if u take that, then i think u'd need a medium armor pen primary.. so.. dominator i guess would be best.
edit: or adjudicator cos faster fire rate.. fits better with the "Fast firing" theme of the build
actually that was one of my early considerations for this build.. was gona do adjudicator + stalwart.
then decided to make it more of a MG themed build n went MG + mg turret instead (n then sickle for primary)
@@Mogz-hd yeah that makes sense, i think the peak physique armor passive will fit very nice with this build.
how about a fire build for next video? flamethrower feels OP, specially against chargers.
@@Farzi2323 yeh iv been wanting to do a fire build for a while now. Might do that next :)
I know it doesn't fit in this build but the HMG emplacement is so strong against bugs and bots. Bring some AT weapons or stratagems and when there is a breach or bot drop throw it down and happy mowing.
My only problem with the HMG turret is instant death when it is destroyed. And it breaks down in turn from one or two missiles.
I really like the stalwart i wish it had med armor pen the fast fire rate reminds me of the buzzsaw mg42 or any other bullet hose
The suppression fire build.
Finally, touhou in helldivers
