    They sponsor mclaren for crying out loud. Should have had an f1 rim ages ago.

      Ironically, the McLaren sponsorship ended so now Lando doesn't even use their hardware.

    Thank you for your opinion. Answer these questions and you will understand why any company decides when to release new products: What is the cost to design, develop, deploy, support and advertise a product. Where does that money come from? How many units are sold and from that how much revenue has been generated. Then how much of that is overhead for keeping a racing division at a company at Logitech open to continue to create new products? How much of it goes to cost recovery for the money you spent in the first place building the product? How much is remaining that then allows you to go through the entire design to release cycle for any follow on product? After that how much profit do you end up with to continue to make shareholders happy? Just saying "wouldn't it be cool to have more wheels or a gear stick" is the easy part.

    It's a great wheel RE force feedback but they've bloody abandoned it. One of their community guys on Reddit kept dropping these hints when asked about other rims. Stuff like, 'stay tuned, you guys are gonna love what we have planned,' and 'lots of exciting things coming in the next few months.'

  • @boijorzee

    My guess is that they simply haven't sold enough Pro Racing Wheels to justify producing additional rims. It's a sign of an oversaturated market. I mean why else did TM kinda shoehorn in backward support on the 488 wheel? They have to because otherwise they wont hit large enough numbers.
    Moza is a big disrupter as well. They have taken such a large segment in such a short time. It's really amazing when you look on how many products they released in the last couple of years. I can imagine the old big players were not really prepared for that.
    It's going to be interesting how things will go but I wouldn't be surprised if TM and Logitech fall back to just offering sub 500$ entry level stuff and leaving the DD market.

  • @tamaz125

    Nice video and hope Logitech does take note. I really regret getting my base and wish I had just kept Moza R9. It's definitely a great product but given the lack of commitment and empty platitudes I would recommend buyers look elsewhere.

    • @grahamkelly8662

      Why did you sell R9? Did you watch the positive reviews saying Logitech has best forcefeedback and believe that they would actually support the wheel? Logitech screwed over all customers. Some are more then happy to have no upgrades, no wheel, or accessories but others really want to build on the basic setup and can’t. Especially those on PlayStation.

    Absolutely wish I had gone with a different base. Got this around release expecting some extra wheels and shifters and others to come soon with the amount of advertisements with McLaren and other advertising. I rarely play on my PlayStation with it so I don’t even need it to be compatible anymore. The lack of communication is just the cherry on top. I’ve tried to sell mine to buy a different wheel but no one wants a wheelbase that has absolutely no ecosystem whatsoever this far after release.

    Please give us a handbrake!!

  • @jed2055

    I have to agree and the main reason one can rightfully complain is because the price of this unit, after buying the pedals as well, puts it right in the middle of the big boys wheels. Put another way, if this DD wheel was say half it's price, then it would be a killer unit and no one could complain about the lack of add on/upgrades because its great for the price but still just a budget wheel. I reckon it's high price tag is so people will still buy the G920, G923 wheels and Logitech don't want to lose those potential buyers. So I'm saying, it's not high priced because Logitech want to take on the other players in the market, releasing extra wheels, shifters etc, it's high priced to leave room for its other wheels. Sounds about right to me.

  • @hyugon6859

    The G Pro Wheel has been more of an Experimental run instead, the device is very faulty and some people's wheel base were bricked up due to the firmware and updating it wouldn't work as it was stuck in not connecting on the g hub as the wheel thrust level would be entirely red. I know many people have a broken faulty product while some have an ok wheel but it didn't last very long.

    • @supercededman

      Most critics of TF either haven't even tried a G Pro or had the settings too high. OoTB, the Trueforce is 100% ridiculously high, bordering on stoopid. I have mine at 15% or thereabouts, depending on the sim.

    • @BottomSplitPodium

      IMO it’s added noise which takes away from the FFB communicating important details to you. The G Pro has great FFB and feels on par with some of the more expensive wheelbases I’ve used. I don’t like washing it out with vibrations.

    My biggest problem with the wheel is price. For what you pay for it, you can get the Fanatec CSL DD for half the price.

    • @BottomSplitPodium

      I wouldn't categorize them the same by any means. The FFB of the Logitech is way better than the DD Pro even at 8 Nm. The CSL pedals are also about half as good. I do think Fanatec's ecosystem is so good that it's worth considering losing the higher FFB so you can have better steering wheels. Plus the pedals can be improved with 3d printed elastomers and add-on springs.

    • @PickledGopher

      CS DD may be a better comparison. I'm curious what Full Force will bring, never tried the trueforce with Logitech. But I think if implemented correctly in sims can be a big deal. Biggest problem with Logitech is where's all the stuff? I'm too far into fanatec to really care though.

    • @ViperJon

      Fanatec's customer service and support is absolutely abysmal. Plus by the time you buy a comparable wheel and LC pedals and a quality disconnect you're right there with Logitech. Hope and pray you never have a warranty claim with Fanatec or need a part in the next year. Got my Logitech in two days free 2nd day air.

    I agree with you about the eco system being a disappointment, but you're playing in VR so don't really see how the wheel shape is important. My hands are locked to position. The wheel could be square for all I care as I can't see it.

    • @BottomSplitPodium

      It makes a difference in driving behavior. Formula wheels have buttons and encoders closer to your fingers so you don't have to lift as much to reach them. The grip is also different leading to more immersion. Logitech's encoders aren't even what I'd consider "thumb" encoders because of how far away from your thumbs in a natural grip they are.

  • @DanDiMaggio

    Unfortunately I kind of figured that would be the case. That's one of the reasons I didn't buy into it. It's the same story with their G series wheels that have basically been exactly the same for 10+ years outside of a few gimmicks and updated brake pedal. Thrustmaster is having a similar annoying problem right now too. While there are many steering wheels that are "compatible" with the T818, the adapter you need has been out of stock basically since the beginning and I think that's a main reason the T818 hasn't been as popular as it really should be.

    They probably haven’t made enough revenue off the product to invest in making peripherals for it yet. So many competitors and such a niche market. It makes sense to me why they haven’t released any new peripherals. they’re not making enough revenue off the product. There’s no incentive for them to make peripherals for it like other companies that only specialize in this market. Logitech makes the majority of their revenue off of other products. They have room for R&D when the budget increases due to sales of this particular product. What they are doing is counterintuitive though. They are almost doing with this product what Sony did with the Vita.
