Hi Ive bought the gimx adapter and i followed you instructions on how to update firmware and mapped all buttons and axises and now i find the Logitech g27 racing wheel in device manager like you said. Bud when i start Granturismo 6 on the RPCS3 emulator then my wheel does not work in game not 1 button or Axis is reacting to input. Wich type of Handler mode do you use in RPCS3 or how did you make that program regconize that G27 wheel that you emulate. I tryed allot but nothing works unfortunately. It's strange because in other games i have on pc it's recognized so i don't understand i hope you can help me with this issue thanks in advance greetings Gio

I guess if you're still playing console racing. It probably does suck. But as an iRacer on the computer, it's really nice, but it's good for people to have opinions. You know, the good thing they're kind of like assholes, everyone has one.

The G Pro Wheel has been more of an Experimental run instead, the device is very faulty and some people's wheel base were bricked up due to the firmware and updating it wouldn't work as it was stuck in not connecting on the g hub as the wheel thrust level would be entirely red. I know many people have a broken faulty product while some have an ok wheel but it didn't last very long.

I have to agree and the main reason one can rightfully complain is because the price of this unit, after buying the pedals as well, puts it right in the middle of the big boys wheels. Put another way, if this DD wheel was say half it's price, then it would be a killer unit and no one could complain about the lack of add on/upgrades because its great for the price but still just a budget wheel. I reckon it's high price tag is so people will still buy the G920, G923 wheels and Logitech don't want to lose those potential buyers. So I'm saying, it's not high priced because Logitech want to take on the other players in the market, releasing extra wheels, shifters etc, it's high priced to leave room for its other wheels. Sounds about right to me.

it’s so painful because I love the base. It’s imo the funnest wheel to drive on the ffb is amazing, and I actually love truforce on low settings

Totally agree with how poorly Logitec has handled this product. Just ordered a Fanatec wheel and base to replace this setup - not happy with lack of replacement wheel options…

How freaking hard is it to at least release a sequential shifter, its a god damn rod with a couple microswitches.

I know looks are subjective but to me it just seems like logitech is going to use that childish toy look on the entire g pro line whenever they get around to releasing it, just takes away some immersion where with that tk wheel for example you can believe something like that was ripped right out a race car in brazil somewhere. If im dropping big bucks on sim gear I at least want it to be as authentic looking as possible. Happy and a bit jealous you where able to nab that kit for so cheap. And thank you for being a normal human reviewing a topic and items, its rare these days.

Absolutely wish I had gone with a different base. Got this around release expecting some extra wheels and shifters and others to come soon with the amount of advertisements with McLaren and other advertising. I rarely play on my PlayStation with it so I don’t even need it to be compatible anymore. The lack of communication is just the cherry on top. I’ve tried to sell mine to buy a different wheel but no one wants a wheelbase that has absolutely no ecosystem whatsoever this far after release.

On the odd chance you're still responding to comments - any idea where you got the shaft clamp at 18:50? Mine needs replacement and struggling to identify where to replace it.

That oil isn't meant for the bases I'm sure it's meant for the pedals right? Shouldn't have to oil the bases lol

They probably haven’t made enough revenue off the product to invest in making peripherals for it yet. So many competitors and such a niche market. It makes sense to me why they haven’t released any new peripherals. they’re not making enough revenue off the product. There’s no incentive for them to make peripherals for it like other companies that only specialize in this market. Logitech makes the majority of their revenue off of other products. They have room for R&D when the budget increases due to sales of this particular product. What they are doing is counterintuitive though. They are almost doing with this product what Sony did with the Vita.

what about the H shifter? it works too?

My guess is that they simply haven't sold enough Pro Racing Wheels to justify producing additional rims. It's a sign of an oversaturated market. I mean why else did TM kinda shoehorn in backward support on the 488 wheel? They have to because otherwise they wont hit large enough numbers. Moza is a big disrupter as well. They have taken such a large segment in such a short time. It's really amazing when you look on how many products they released in the last couple of years. I can imagine the old big players were not really prepared for that. It's going to be interesting how things will go but I wouldn't be surprised if TM and Logitech fall back to just offering sub 500$ entry level stuff and leaving the DD market.

It's a great wheel RE force feedback but they've bloody abandoned it. One of their community guys on Reddit kept dropping these hints when asked about other rims. Stuff like, 'stay tuned, you guys are gonna love what we have planned,' and 'lots of exciting things coming in the next few months.' Crickets. Liars.

I bought this wheel in the T818 bundle that had a good discount. I have a pretty well rounded collection of TM rims from over the years. I always was pleased with their stuff although I am fully aware that it's not exactly the best out there. The SF1000 rim is a class above their other stuff though. And for the price I paid I am super impressed. That being said I almost had it RMA'd because it bricked on me after a failed firmware update. I think it failed because it had the quick release adapter attached. Not a great experience but TM responded quickly enough with a guide on how to get it to boot again. I would echo the sentiment that if you are new to sim racing I would not automatically recommend going the TM path. Their entry level stuff is still pretty awesome but if you are looking to get into DD the market is very competitive and having to mess around with adapters is not great. Their latest F488 GT3 wheel is a step in the right direction though and if they bring more of that TM might be more competitive again. It's still somewhat hampered by having the user screw the QR to the base themselves but at least it has improved the amount of play you get on the T818. Mind you I feel reports on that are somewhat overblown anyway. I have put dozens of hours into the T818 with the Sparco rally wheel. And although that particular rim tends to bring out the play the worst it has not bothered me one bit while driving.

I hear your frustration but your kinda taking it out on an otherwise amazing wheel and base, one that competes with pc’s top dogs and does it for console. I agree we need and deserve an eco system but all things considered especially fanatics epic collapse and all time shitty customer service this product and support is stellar for consoles.

Yeah but I play GT7 alot in VR and cant use the Asetek so I got the G Pro.....not unhappy...:) but you lucked out ....I did get 20% off tho

Thank you for your opinion. Answer these questions and you will understand why any company decides when to release new products: What is the cost to design, develop, deploy, support and advertise a product. Where does that money come from? How many units are sold and from that how much revenue has been generated. Then how much of that is overhead for keeping a racing division at a company at Logitech open to continue to create new products? How much of it goes to cost recovery for the money you spent in the first place building the product? How much is remaining that then allows you to go through the entire design to release cycle for any follow on product? After that how much profit do you end up with to continue to make shareholders happy? Just saying "wouldn't it be cool to have more wheels or a gear stick" is the easy part.

I pretty much agree with your cons but trueforce should be a con to that level of other stuff like missing ecosystems.....I for one love it

A little late but what is your take on laptops of today? I want to sim again and have a msi with i712700h and rtx3070ti 125 to 150tgp .i will connect it to my 4ktv with a gaming panel that i can sett to 120hz 1440p…will this be a good experience with this hardware.i mean will it get 100fps?

The wheelbase is $499 currently which is a steal for that alone. The fact you got all of that for $300 is just mind boggling.

For me an ecosystem is irrelevant when using vr in my opinion. On the fence about the g pro. I have had my g29 for over 8 years if the pro has similar reliability then I'm sold.

I got mine a few month's after release used a few times and also abandoned it for my other brand wheels Im very dissapointed with there eco system im still waiting for new wheels and a decent shifter and handbrake im actually thinking of selling mine and i will never go back to logitech

Nice! I had a 1995 GST in puke green lol. Literally bought it a few weeks after seeing the original Fast and Furious. I was a senior in high school so it didn't last very long 😂. It was fun while it lasted. I've thought about getting another every now and then but parts are just crazy hard to find. Make sure when you do the interior you roll up the corners of the passenger airbag so it's like legit legit!

Maybe you should have more patience about new ecosystem by Logitech, couse it's been just year, bro! You tell us about Thrustmaster eco - but wait a minute, they made it for the last 6-5 years! Just wait, wait...

Can you use a fanatec shifter on it?

I can confirm that if you put the XBOX wheel on the Playstation base you can in fact use it on all consoles without having to put the PS wheel back on.

Loving my G Pro. I spent years with a G29 so lack of extras don’t bother me. I was trying to get into Fanatec but they’re horrible so stayed with Logitech and glad I did.

Well, I disagree with you completely, pad mine now for about six months I’m racing almost every night and frankly it’s fantastic. I have no qualms at all with logitech and I highly recommend it. I think the pro wheel and true force in ACC is phenomenal.

Not sure why people keep calling it ugly. i personally like the looks but more importantly it works. ergonomics are great and everything is within reach
