The filament makers could collaborate with Bambu to make an RFID system to be picked up by the AMS and charge perhaps an extra 50¢~$1 extra per roll for the ease of use. Bambu owners could benefit from this seeing how other manufacturers have colors that Bambu doesn't even offer.

Something I want is a print que. A program to manage what is left to print. A simple way to manage when and what is next. SIMPLE to change tray, and say next. Something I can train someone to do that does not know anything about printing, or the current project.

I agree 100% about the RFID tags. That would be easy for them to do, but if they did they would remove all incentive to purchase filament from their store.

not exactly you also buy there filament for no tuning sense they have a pre calibrated profile for each bambu filament so theres that incentinve

Good video. I haven't had problems with the AMS yet, after about six weeks of owning X1C but you are spot on with the other minor annoyances. Should be able to full-screen and zoom in Studio like you can in Handy.

Good balanced review! I have a Kickstarter X1C and I am also more familiar with the AMS than I would like to be. I have learned that some brands of filament aren’t AMS friendly, so I stick with ones that are and the problems have been rare. I use non Bambu PLA and have not found it to be a problem without RFID tags. I have a y-connector and a side mounted roll holder; that should have been standard with the X1C. I was planning to spend around $500 for my second 2nd 3D printer, but gladly paid much more to get a truly superior printer, money well spent. Apple II computers were $2,000 in the early 80’s and HP LaserJet printers were $2,500 (Too rich for my blood!) The X1 Carbon Combo is truly a bargain! The regular software and firmware updates have only made things even better. Bambu Studio is a delight to use; easy and very powerful. I design pretty much everything I print, the cloud has worked fine for me, and I’m not concerned about stealing my designs.
I am still waiting for the big one too! I hope it will have an AMS that combines the best features of both of their designs. Maybe allow a 5th roll!
    Thanks for your excellent videos.

Are the contents of the RFID tag not decodable? If they are and we understand the format, it's easy to write your own tags and stick them on third party spools.

Have you try use the Braskem FL600EVA-Bio? I have been looking into a printer that can print that material without much issues. We have the qidi x-max3 and it just not consistent.

I wish I could mount like noctua fans instead of the bambu fans or similar to keep the noise down. I mostly think the fans, especially that ones with a low radius and high rpg are a little loud.

MandicReally has a video on replacint the chamber vent fan with a Noctua 12V fan (original is a 12V so you need a converter/keep in mind to buy 24V Noctua fan).

One item I would have put in the bad column would be the inability of the AMS to handle CF filaments because of the plastic gears in the feed head. To print CF, you have to disconnect the AMS and manually feed it in.

Directly from their own website filaments are listed as AMS compatible
      PLA-CF
      PETG-CF
      PAHT-CF
      The two that aren't are
      PA6-CF
      PET-CF

Put this on my list. BAD=The chamber fan can't be forced to run on a lower percentage when not needing it spinning at 100% and 90 decibils. I WANT a chamber fan locked overide switch in software on the unit to lock it down to any # you chose. I run mine on 70% all the time. A lot of people don't need it ALWAYS to run at 100% and 90 decibils for their prints. My X1is in a 8 Bambu Lab print farm and EVERY TIME I have to use the X1 ( always) I have to reduce the chamber fan. There is no place in the slicer to reduce the chamber fan in the slicer file. Plus to redo all m files it would take 6 hours of work. Bambu Labs PLEASE add a software chamber fan lockable max speed choice on the touch screen.

Agreed. I worked around that issue by customizing the gcode in the "Advanced" tab in the filaments and set the fan to 50%, and while that works great, it would be nice to have that option properly in the slicer.

    Well now...
A lot of your bad serms to be very absolute - that is to say, just look at what you get with other printers. Complain about nozzle wiping? Did you have nozzlecwiping atvall on your Enders, Crealitiesvetc or did you have to do it with a brass brush?
Noise: yes, Im afraid noise goes with high speed printing. They can do the new anti-noise stuff for motors but moving at these speeds you will always have vibration. Andbyou will always have louder fans.
If you have looked for quieter fans that can move the amount of air required to cool when you have the high temperatures needed to extrude plastic at high flow rates, you will understand why it is not quieter. There are no fans I have found with these air flow rates, let alone atvreasonable cost.
AMS Lite is very well, but you lose the drybox facility. I have had no problems with either of my AMSes.
I would add to the Good side - no Z-offset adjustment and bed mesh that actualky wirks, far better than any BLTouch solutions I have had.
I think the security thing is over-hyped. As someone who has done a lot of work in the security field, I don't have any real concerns over using Bambu's cloud for printing (but I'm not designing commercial prints and if I were I would use LAN only mode).
Ideally, allow wing the camera to stream like Octoprint so all you need is an IP address and Port number, would be the way to go for me. Much more useful.
I find Handy often wont display the syream and if Zi switch to another app and cone back, I have to close the app and restart every single time, to get a feed. That's a big minus
Poop is a bad, but there is a profile out there to reduce waste by 60%.
Oddly, I found it hard to understand Orusa Slicer, but I have picked up BS/Orca very quickly. Perhaps it is just the documentation aporoach has been better, as they are the same slicer. But Kudos to Bambu for making Slic3r derivatives much easier to understand
Thanks for the videos during the last year Len. Theres been some great stuff in there

I agree, but I believe that if they release a feature on the printer, it should work, regardless if it was a manual function on other printers, and I agree about Orca slicer; its just easier to use.
