    Illegals? Imagine that. That construction company needs to be fined

      The construction company was hired by the Florida department of transportation, a state agency. They are probably given no bid contracts from DeSantis.

    The contractor needs to be fined, sued, and put out of business. It's also a black eye on the State and their vetting process for taking bids. There's a reason why "cheapest" isn't always "best." So the State Transportation Dept. has _some_ culpability, but in this case it's ancillary. There needs to be criminal and civil penalties for the contractor if the State has any laws that cover this situation.

    • @michaeltrevino201
      @michaeltrevino201 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The company that owns the construction company is the 11th largest contractor in the nation. They probably get no-bid contracts handed to them from DeSantis

    So...did he purposely run down the cop? I don't understand how this happened. Construction vehicles don't move very fast. About the speed of a school zone. Was the cop standing in the road? Did he not see a huge Construction vehicle coming toward him? I don't understand how this happened.

    Charge the business owner of these employees too, he knew they were illegals! My grandparents are from Mexico and Honduras legally. I’m disgusted what is happening with all these illegals entering and we as Citizens have to pay for this. There are thousands who do the right thing by applying for entrance to our country that have been waiting for years, it’s not fair! I’m so sorry for this officer to lose his life like this, prayers to his family and friends.

      The guy could of been legal and had the same accident. I blame it on the contractor for hiring someone that had iffy qualifications of running heavy equipment. Probably has been doing it for years. The illegals were arrested, but nothing happened to the contractor. Maybe a lawsuit brought by the family is coming.

    My condolences to the family & the the police family ❤️🥀 it makes me angry that this illegal was working for this company that didn't even bother to check this illegal out. He had no license to operate this dangerous machine 😠 & I believe the company should be held liable for their stupidity. All companies that hire these ppl for cheap labor are completely responsible. That illegal needs to pay for running away from the scene of an accident & causing the death of this officer. Justice needs to be done for the sake of the family. The children are w/o a father & a wife w/o a husband ,not to mention the parents.😪 And everyone who knew this officer. Put these man in prison & the company that hired him should pay for their stupidity, all these companies need to be held accountable for hiring these illegals because their just as guilty . It's sad that these companies are only looking for profit instead of the welfare & safety of ppl moving around working areas . You just can't put someone even kid on these dangerous machine's. I pray the family hire a good lawyer & drain that company 😠😠

    Your supposed to get out of the way of giant front loaders. What the heck is he walking around in the dark? Was the cop wearing reflection vest etc.?
    The driver being illegal has nothing to do with the accident.
    The company has a serious problem and should not be allowed to do any government work anymore and be charged $10k for every worker they can not proof having a work permit. How is the state allowing this? They are working on a government job.
    Cop running around in the dark is a different issue.

    The U.S. construction industry, like agriculture and manufacturing, has a reputation for relying on undocumented workers. That’s mostly because legal workers simply aren’t available, and cost much more to employ when they are.
    Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is tasked with ensuring that employers maintain complete I-9 records, and the agency conducts audits throughout the year. In 2018, the number of audits rose to 5,981 from 1,360 the year before, according to the National Law Review. In July, 3,282 audits were noticed within three weeks. Targeted industries include hospitality, agriculture, food processing, landscaping, and construction. Despite the increased threat of a crackdown, a massive shortage of skilled workers is making it difficult for some contractors to adhere to federal hiring requirements. Some businesses are able to bring workers into the country via H-2B visas, attorney Chad Blocker, a partner in the Los Angeles office of Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP, that those visas are designated for seasonal industries like landscaping and hospitality.
    A federal judge in California sentenced contractor Job Torres Hernandez to almost nine years in prison for forcing some undocumented individuals to work on projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and keeping others locked in a warehouse during their off hours. The warehouse had no sanitary facilities, and prosecutors said Torres threatened workers if they didn’t continue to work or if they complained to anyone about their living conditions.
    Attorney Samuel Newbold, chair of the immigration law group at Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC in New York, stated that there has been resistance on the part of trade unions to the idea of a visa that would allow construction workers to enter the U.S. on a legal, temporary basis. In addition, laws related to undocumented workers vary from state to state.

      DeSantis is fine, this is Biden's Immigration Policy. The Local Law Enforcement does not have authority to enforce Immigration, why do you think DeSantis is shipping them to Martha's Vineyard and other Sanctuary Cities. As a lifelong Pinellas County resident my heart goes out to all affected, however if any one entity is to be responsible it should be on the Biden Administration Immigration Policy. Look around this is happening all over the country.
