      One thing I can say as a proud Central Floridian, we have some of the absolute best county sheriffs. Just like anything else, when u have a culture of consistent mentality & no nonsense approaches from one it’s spreads out to the further community. From Marion Co, Volusia, Orange & probably our most famous Sheriff, Grady Judd from Polk Co, they all are one in the same when it comes to their approach & the willingness to work together beings a level of cohesiveness that is unparalleled. Obviously Central Fl is unique to this country given the transient nature of Florida as a whole but also with the insane amount of visitors as well as new residents , there’s always going to be an heightened level of crime. However, if we didn’t have the type of law enforcement in central fl that we do, which is absolutely some of the best in the country, we would be no diff than your Baltimores, Chicagos, St Louis etc. Yet we’re anything but. We’re proud & grateful for our law enforcement here in Central Fl & in FL as a whole.

    My parents INSISTED on meeting my friends and their parents throughout grade school and until senior year of High School. They wanted to know what I was doing and with whom at all times. I hated it when I was a kid, but I stayed out of trouble and was an excellent student. It's harder now for parents to see everything a child is doing. The internet has made parenting a more difficult task. Parents need to be part detective and part friend.
    One girl came to spend the night and when her mom came to pick her up, she threw her overnight bag at her mom. My dad was LIVID. Needless to say, she didn't come back. Watch the people around your kids!! Don't be afraid of disciplining your own kids. Prepare them to be functional adults.

    • @Shannonbarnesdr1

      so many of these kids also come from violent homes, sheriff advocates for whuppins; if whuppins worked so well then why is most of these criminals coming out of whuppin homes? and yet we have countries like Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and many more i think the total is around 70, but yeah many of these countries that do not use corporal punishment on children, notice the crime rates are actually MUCH LOWER than here, the school drop out rates are much lower, and those who do commit crimes get rehabilitated and recidivism is much lower than here. over all violence is very very low, education is much higher, when compared to here and other countries that do allow corporal punishment, so what are they doing different ? we need to be raising our kids more like the ways these countries are doing.

Get off your political soap box ! This is a pure example of why all that let police do their jobs is b.s. you feel these are the best cops yet their citie has horrible crimes like this occurring. I am so proud of Sheriff Woods! I am 71 years old and started getting the parental warnings by the age of 5 and ready to go to school!! My parents would sit me down and discuss the consequences of my behavior and the law even back in the 1950’s and how I was taught right from wrong in my home and would be held accountable for my conduct. Maybe even more importantly, my parents told me that my conduct represented my family. I was instilled with family pride and was made to feel responsibility to represent my family well. And that is what is lacking in the American family today; family pride. It was also made known to me that I better pray the law got to me before my parents did because the consequences would be double whatever the law did to me and I was made to believed it.

That’s what we refuse take accountability for as a country; *Keeping guns out of criminals and children’s hands.* Sheriff says its impossible. Then stop complaining!! Just accept that a country with half a Billion guns is going to have crime issues with guns then. But we alread incarcerate more people per capita than ANY industrialized country, by a wide margin. What’s next? Build more prisons like the 80s, 90’s and 00’s? That barely solved anything.

      @Bamboo Shoot You could take everyone's guns away that are law abiding citizens and you could take away every criminal's gun. But do you know what's been happening, Is happening, and will continue to happen? Like the war on drugs. More drugs are coming across our border than ever in history. By the tons. Also illegal aliens are coming across our border In tremendous numbers. Also guns are coming across our border. With the current administration welcoming all of this How do you expect to keep them from going into people's hands? They're even coming across our border and having major shootouts with our police and border patrol in our land. The drugs are coming in by the tons every day. Weapons are coming in everyday. The people that do bad things with guns will always get a gun. And if they can't, they will find another way. You know like the guy that mowed down people in the parade with a vehicle right after the liberal DA and judge. Let him back on the streets after trying to run his girlfriend down with that same vehicle. darell brooks, However you spell it. a pos. Maybe making violent criminals accountable instead of Blaming weapons And addressing mental health problems instead of defunding and closing down all the institutions and putting them on the streets and back in family's hands might have a little help.

      That's when neighbors knew each other and helped each other. If only people still cared for others, it would be that way today.

      Mutlley Mutley, I totally agree with what you have said. America would be better off, if the parents and schools and the law would work together to find bad apples before tragic situations happen like this one. It is called communication and hopefully rehab.

      Yes, but it's the "states attorney's" and the Judges that let them go. Police put lives on the lines for these criminal Judges and prosecutors aka "state's attorney's" in Florida.

    The solution is simple. Since they aren't scared of the police, since they aren't scared of the courts, MAKE THEM SCARED of their potential victims!! CONSTITUTIONAL CONCEALED CARRY!!

    • @maximusextreme3725
      @maximusextreme3725 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That law has already been passed and is effective July 1st 2023. These victims were all under 21 years old though, so that law would not have helped them in this situation.
