I know many people have pointed it out but the doom clips are actually quaked I was working on this video at like 4am but I don’t know how I made that mistake they are both amazing players and shoutout to them both

I knew about the bastion shield but how have I NEVER seen the remote mine ability. That’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
It was more like a test thing. From what I recall it was never in a publicly available version of the game.
Yeah I’m pretty sure it never made it to the live game but I think might have a appeared in the beta of the game but I’m not sure about that one
I don't even remember it being in the betas, I think it was just in his original showcase trailer but was changed before anyone got to play the game.

For those who dont know, sym turrets used to have like 5hp so her biggest counter was winston
Yeah 1hp on her turrets Winston just had to breath on them and she’s done

I think it was 1 hp. Dva could sneeze on them from across the map and kill them

@@stelliana_vkei Yes. A lot of the achievements too made more sense in the old times. Like mercy mass res Zen 4k in short amount of time with discord or Lucio booping two while wall riding without dying. Very minor complaint that doesn't matter tho was just happy to live them
Another thing about Zen is that back during the beta, neither of his orbs had LoS durations. You could slap Harmony on your flanker and Discord on whoever you felt like pissing off, and they'd pretty much keep it forever. Discord also couldn't be cleansed at all, and could be stacked on the same target if you had other Zens on the team.
I didn’t know about the stacking thing that’s actually insane but I noticed when researching that zens discord never left which would be so broken today
oh the old 6 zen strat with the mates was mental, imagine monk team 6 all with a assigned personal healing orb hitting you with the %90 extra damage
Apperently you could stack Mei freezes from primary fire before they took it out

I think the biggest issue was when you could kill someone randomly, if they reduced the amount of bounces or something to avoid blind killing I think they could have kept it
any multiplayer online game should have a mode where EVERYTHING is at the most broken state it has ever been as an anniversary celebration mode. just imagine all that in one match. amazing.

Sigma, a character who has gotten no major buffs since release yet he is still a solid pick.
It’s actually crazy to think about he has only really been nerfed and he is still on of the best tanks in the game
Sigma is the only tank that doesn’t feel like complete shit to play when the enemy decides to go full cancer stunt/spam/cc. Not even Zarya. Blame the amazing balancing this game has

Sigma is proof that every tank should get a shield or a succ
@@ghoulbuster1 is more so cause his abilities allow him to survive while also protect his team. His succ gives him shield and can cancel a few ults, his shield is great for mitigation and for giving teammates a breather or assist and his rock can be used to cancel ults as well as disrupt positioning
Meanwhile:
Reinhardt's shield is not very practical and severely slows him down, so with the new pacing of overwatch 2, he's in need for a rework. He doesn't have a lot of tools to disrupt like rock, javelin, hook, Vortex, etc. So he gets bullied very easily and his charge isn't really the best for that
Orisa has TOO MUCH survivability and can do way too much damage while this survivability tool is up
Mauga has survivability that requires him to do insane amounts of damage, so his gamplay becomes "Find another Mauga and see who can keep going for longer"

I remember after the first patch the enemy Roadhog got POTG and it was him hooking me while I was out of sight up a stair case just because a pixel of Cassidy's boot was in his line of sight. And then Ulting our supports.

I still play Sombra plenty but I miss when I could shut down an entire team by myself basically with well timed hacks.

You forgot the aspect of Scatter Arrow which actually got it removed: what it would do to tanks. The fact that it could 1-Shot Orisa and Zarya, and basically put any other tank in a position where they were bound to die regardless, all just for shooting just at the person's feet.
Reminds me of the original fan the hammer one shotting tanks too
Yeah that shit was nuts, scatter arrow just deleted tanks if you got that angle right
If I remember the patch notes correctly, the reason why they removed scatter and replaced it with storm arrow wasn’t necessarily because scatter could one shot tanks, but because it was very inconsistent. Sometimes it one shot tanks, and sometimes it did like only 30 damage to tracer. It depended on the distance of the scatter arrow from the target and the slope of the floor it’s bouncing off and the random directions of the projectile bounce. It was heavily RNG dependent so the OW team wanted to replace it with an ability that depended on the skill of the player using it
@@voltdragon there was nothing inconsistent about killing tanks with it. It was the easiest thing to do.
@@xDjembexand if you knew what you were doing back then, not hard to kill tracer either. If you were out in the open you deserved to die as Hanzo back then, but if you were ever in a tunnel/room they legit became one of the deadliest shit in game.
Sym generator + torb shield on any 200hp hero making it mini tank, tank being immortal☠️

no no torb ARMOR! so you'd get 75 shield on top, which would regen, then 75 armor in the middle, which would take reduced dmg, and then 200 hp at the bottom, yep 350HP in total lol it was ridiculous!

I genuinely miss hook 1.0 even though it was the most broken, rage inducing bullshit. Also another "rework" (bug fix) was genji being able to fucking launch himself by dashing onto ledges

I used to want big Brig buffs. I used be unaware of the horrors release Brigitte brought.
When I found out, I was like, "Y'know, she's fine the way she is! We don't want 'that' to come back!"
Some other big changes to note:
Micromissles were an added ability that Dva didnt have.
Bigger for her, defense matrix was entirely different. It was a singe use ability with a specific amount of uptime, and then a cooldown of like 6~ seconds. It took a bit before they finally reworked it to be on a resource meter.
Of course roadhog later got Vape on a resource meter, and then got a new ability Pigpen to help replicate his old wombo combo. He lost his secondary shot and his primary shot got reworked to have slugs instead of exploding at a certain point in front of him.
Torb used to go around collecting scrap and could throw out armor kits to team mates.
Sym has had multiple reworks- At one point she basically had sigmas shield as an ability. Not to overlook her losing her lock on.
Sombra was reworked, twice.
Lifeweaver used to drop flowers on his death that would heal players when they picked them up. This included enemies.
Pharahs flight mechanics have been reworked twice. She was changed to be allowed to fly permanently, and then recently had her movement reworked again to have more air-burst mobility, ultimately given a new ability to air-dash.

@@verguco6051 As a fellow who's been around since season 2 of Overwatch 1, no the game was not "more fun" it was more new since metas weren't that established yet, most of the cast were genuinely bad and people were hella toxic compared to today, The old Lootbox system also wasn't rewarding since there was no anti duplicate or guaranteed seasonal drops introduced nor could you buy seasonal items with the coins until the Halloween event. Old Overwatch was pretty good at a casual level but any look past rose tinted glasses and you realize just how far we've come

Jesus Christ hook 1.0 would make me piss myself if i even Heard a roadhog in MY GROUP imagine being pharah and getting hooked and clipped through a building because you were in hogs LOS for .2 seconds
Hook 1.0 was goofy on release like how it didn’t have restrictions on how long you could hook someone for. So the tactic was to beyblade someone indefinitely and it was only patched out after 7 months.
Hook 1.0 was the most broken feature they had on the release of the game. It was infuriating to play against! Luckily the major change to break it on loss of LOS got worked in rather quickly.

Ashe casually turning into Widow sounds extremely broken and as an Ashe main i would love it
Another thing to note about the Lucio one is that while it was 30m it also was not a spherical area but instead just a cylinder, meaning that Lucio could be in the sky box or another character and they would still get healing/speed.
That lucio bit was 90% of the video for no reason

@@mercyI_Iyeah it's hard to really understand how massive 30 m really is. Brig inspire now is 20m and shit's huge. 30 meters is like 2 times the area. Literally infinite range
his heal was slower like today but he had a huge range
1:23 Those 30m and 12m numbers are the radius of the aura, so when you use that radius to calculate the volume of the sphere that he actually affects, it used to be a whopping 15.625 times larger than it is today. Not percent, TIMES. Ridiculous.
Yep. But height doesn't matter as much since most maps aren't super high and 12m is enough, especially when you can wall ride. But if we're talking area then it used to be 6 times bigger than now, which is fucking insane.

Junkrat's concussion mines used to have zero fall off damage and a bigger blast radius.
Additionally back in the beta fan the hammer was capable of turning literally any tank into swish cheese seeing as each shot did equal damage to one of his normal shots which is like 70x6 for a 420 damage burst and then you could roll get your ammo back and do it again

@@mercyI_IFth did that much damage with no fall offs, on top of that you could unload all of it after flashbang and rolled to reload before tanks could move. So you could stun > fth > roll > fth and it'd instakill reins from full to 0. Every game of Rein v Cree back then was who out game the other, not favouring rein as they can just fth and normal reload to melt your shield faster than even a Bastion would.
This is why in old ow1 clips you could sometimes see Crees walk up to the rein and fake look up to throw nade below them or vice versa and the rein instantly dies.

This is the biggest one that still breaks my heart. That and now the pharah rework to no longer recharge fuel in the air. I mained both of these two exclusively in OW1, and now I'm just kinda lost because neither feels right anymore.

Omg the 4 sec cooldown on the shield bash THAT WAS ABLE TO STUN THROUGH SHIELD. That shit gave me ptsd. It was like the best stun in the game and it had the second shortest cooldown in the game after tracer's blink

Does anyone else remember the Invincible Bastion Weekend when they first gave him his "ironclad" damage resist passive? The damage reduction would stack with things like nano so a nano'd bastion would straight up survive a D.Va bomb (or any other ult in the game). It was incredible lmaoo

I remember the nightmares that was brig on launch. I had a comp game where both teams had brigs and we all stopped to watch the brig 1v1 and whoever won their team was allowed to cap the point
All of those have so simple fixes but blizzard NEVER understand what happens on his own game

For the most Hog 1.0 clip, look up the one with the Sombra TPing and getting hooked
I played this last in season 2 way back when many of these things still existed. Its crazy to think a lot of it is just gone, the main points of making characters unique and powerful nerfed into a more generic shooter.

Sometimes people forgot that shield generator and torb's armor pack and Brig's rally used to coexist for a short time and that was the ultimate dark age of Overwatch😂 Everyone's a tank with +75 shield +25 armor + 150 armor

When brig first came out after waiting a whole season to play (because during the season she was unplayable/ disable for whatever reason) I hit top 500 using brig on console season 10 to be exact she was unbelievable broken

EVERYTIME i saw someone with both shield and amour in their hp bars, it made me think of twix chocolate bars.
Like the shield is the sticky, annoying and hard-to-get-rid-of caramel part, and armour is the tougher, crunchy sounding part.
OW1 is probably the reason why i dont like twix that much.
Forgot that Zen orb used to have an infinite duration. Just put it on a tracer or genji and they just run around all match. Same for discord orb tracking enemys all game xD
