@@fe-main Yeah, the middle-ground is Lucio, Brig, Juno, Zen, maybe even Moira who all have a niche in their respective comps but can't just be used as a generic value hero. Heroes with only defensive abilities are just bad, the game is about speed and offense and Lifeweaver brings none of that. He is only "balanced" if you consider doing nothing the mid-point between being a detriment to your team and being a benefit.
I honestly think Lifeweaver is the strongest he's been in a good while right now. The recent petal changes are really nice and offer a ton of utility to the whole team. His healing is good and his damage is getting slightly better. He's still bad compared to other supports but I think he's showing actual potential to maybe become good someday.
I’m not really counting bugs like that because I could also say bastions strongest state was when he could use he’s out infinitely but yeah that sigma shit was pretty wack
@@yazan_q u right actually tho that bug was before he got his one shot back thinking about it now maybe it could’ve but also the universal buffs like the headshot reduction still push him over for me tho it honestly might be even cause we’ve all seen the flats clip of him figuring it out but I feel like well it was good it was still somewhat niche I feel like
I want to point out as well that sigma recieved some stealth nerfs at the start of this season. He can no longer ult immediately after rocking, and same thing with the orbs. He feels clunky, (similar to ashe who feels clunky too)
I feel like that Brig was most broken when her whipshot was buffed and could kill squishies with 2 melee, bash, whip. This was reverted quite fast. Also for Mercy, her strongest peak was when she could heal 25% more when targets were below 50%. Making them unkillable.
Mauga on release, aith infinite ammo, more ammo on his machine guns, more health regen, faster cooldowns, more health and more damage and bleed through was just absolutely fucken terrible to play against. He was pretty much unkillable, ESPECIALLY if he had a pocket healer.
Doom still feels like a throw pick when half the other team swaps to counter and instead of also swapping most dooms would rather complain about it in chat
Honestly I would have considered OW 2 release lucio to be the strongest version because he was just so unkillable with heal aura + support passive. Then the eventual self healing reduction got nerfed to be even stronger and made amp healing almost useless.
I’ve never heard of that glitch but either way I’m not counting glitches or anything otherwise infinite ult bastion would be the best or infinite bury venture both glitches
Wouldn’t dva’s peak be after the Juno buffs but before mid season, because idk if anyone actually played overmatch in high elo here but holy fuck she was so op

@@mercyI_IJunkrat really isnt bad right now though. Hes actually pretty solid in his current state. The problem is lower ranks are falling into his spam playstyle, but flankrat is where he is best rn. And the devs have said not too long ago that while Overbuff isnt exactly perfect, its fairly close to their internal stats outside of gm+ where there is very limited data.
that zarya meta was probably the most miserable season for me in ow2. I hated that zarya meta even more than the orisa metas because at least its easier to dive orisas backline rather than zarya bubbling her supports and zarya with high charge is more lethal than orisa.
Lifeweaver best state was Pre Mauga sooo season 7 I think? Before mid season 8 so from the time period he got those buffs till the season 9 changes Lifeweaver has been the most misunderstood hero in the game. During this time period on overbuff youd notice increase in "AggroWeavers" and people who could actually play Lifeweaver making it to the top spots on overbuff. I myself made it to GM for the first time with Lifeweaver (As well as Baptiste for specific situations). Lifeweaver 1 is a duelist, he always had "Just enough" ammo and damage to get the Job done (pre season 9 changes). He's not just this "Reactive" "always needs his team" "can't carry" hero. The "AggroLifegrip" back when he had 16 seconds was also a skill I picked up. Now I can go over the defensive stuff you probably already know but I wanna focus on who Lifeweaver thinks he is and what he actually is. Now that Lifeweavers back at full power after multiple multiple bad metas, I went from falling alll the way from GM to plat currently back to masters again and all it took was him being able to catch back up to the season 9 changes and pre charge his heals thats helped to. A lot of people also play Lifeweaver into really bad match ups and situations because he's just this "Haha funny hero" when you see Mauga get the hell off Weaver, when you see Echo get the hell off Lifeweaver, when you see Pharah get the hell off Weaver. When you see an Orisa you should be eating that B alive When you see Torb if we have a weaver and that torb turret stays up for any reason someones getting reported for throwing. Don't play him on Antarctica Peninsula ever, you SHOULD play him on Dorado and Numbani attack and hell even hollywood. When Lifeweavers "Bad" I've noticed he falls into this healbot category everyone imagines he already is when you HAVE to play Weaver like that yes that's when he's "Bad" No one knows how important Weaver’s gun is so most don't know when his "Good" states actually are or if he's even had any to begin with he's always just been like this "Meme" hero to them. He's a breakpoint hero, he always walks on a thread when it comes to winning and losing soooo when I run out of Ammo or don't do enough damage ya know If I don't win my 1v1s or apply enough poke damage etc etc. That is the difference between winning and losing, between him being good and "Bad" The further you can push the gun and get actual results even if it's just mid max value determines what Lifeweavers best state is.
Do yall remember ball season 3 when he got buffed to get shields, had adaptive shields almost always up and mine + piledrive was impossible to dodge because of how fast mines armed
there was also a point of time where illari had a bug which gave her infinite ammo as a result of a buff to her healing during reload (it was insane but i dont think it was allowed in comp 🤦♂)

@@Lambo-ux3uh I agree looking back on the video I lost tracking of where I was in the script cause my phone died when recording so I just kind of free balled it but map pools were not a fundamental part of the game and I think a lot of people are glad there gone and that super brief part in season 9 the only reason I didn’t put her there was cause of the meta but I understand your reasoning
I think with power creep with the state it’s at I think most likely the best character would probably be similar to the first meta with dva, tracer, soj, Lucio, kiri with really the only difference being dva instead of Winston. It would still be pretty fun to see
you right hog like mauga is a terrible design that will never really work but i meant that hog being able to one shot in 5v5 without another tank to help is much more impactful than in 6v6

I imagine the low pickrate for Echo is because she takes like 150 matches finished just to unlock her, i myself just started this week and am slowly but surely working on getting her since she seems really fun in the practice modes
At 3:18 super has 22k dmg which is more than his entire team combined. I think that’s legitimately the first time over ever seen that. Not the total but having more than your entire team THAT far into a match is insane.

Heroes with only defensive abilities are just bad, the game is about speed and offense and Lifeweaver brings none of that. He is only "balanced" if you consider doing nothing the mid-point between being a detriment to your team and being a benefit.
omg i love i wanted karq to make a sequal but you did i love uuuu
I gotcha brotha I love Karq
i hope to see more of this series. recapping on ow2 is fresh
Thank you my guy I’ll try and keep it up
I honestly think Lifeweaver is the strongest he's been in a good while right now. The recent petal changes are really nice and offer a ton of utility to the whole team. His healing is good and his damage is getting slightly better. He's still bad compared to other supports but I think he's showing actual potential to maybe become good someday.
What an insane video, can appreciate all the effort that went into it
Thank you my guy
Great work man!
Appreciate it bro
Close enough. Welcome back KarQ
@@Golden_Zeke lmfaooo w
me, a lifeweaver main, clicking this vid knowing his most broken state is just another hero's mid state 😋
Lmfaooooo most real comment I’ve ever seen I love playing lw but man he is just trash
I’d say sigma’s strongest state was when his ult went through walls
I’m not really counting bugs like that because I could also say bastions strongest state was when he could use he’s out infinitely but yeah that sigma shit was pretty wack
@@mercyI_I I’m pretty sure that wasn’t a bug
I remember seeing it on the patch notes
@@yazan_q u right actually tho that bug was before he got his one shot back thinking about it now maybe it could’ve but also the universal buffs like the headshot reduction still push him over for me tho it honestly might be even cause we’ve all seen the flats clip of him figuring it out but I feel like well it was good it was still somewhat niche I feel like
@@mercyI_I what lmao
Funnily enough jay3 watched this video and said the same thing
I want to point out as well that sigma recieved some stealth nerfs at the start of this season. He can no longer ult immediately after rocking, and same thing with the orbs. He feels clunky, (similar to ashe who feels clunky too)
Bridget never had a peak case closed
Bridge gitta
Ya she's never been bad
If she ever gets to the point she was on release the entire balance team has to go
you weren't there for brig on release... she was a fucking demon LOL
Bigeate
I feel like that Brig was most broken when her whipshot was buffed and could kill squishies with 2 melee, bash, whip. This was reverted quite fast.
Also for Mercy, her strongest peak was when she could heal 25% more when targets were below 50%. Making them unkillable.
Mauga on release, aith infinite ammo, more ammo on his machine guns, more health regen, faster cooldowns, more health and more damage and bleed through was just absolutely fucken terrible to play against. He was pretty much unkillable, ESPECIALLY if he had a pocket healer.
Nerf genji has been a thing since OW1
Doom still feels like a throw pick when half the other team swaps to counter and instead of also swapping most dooms would rather complain about it in chat
Honestly I would have considered OW 2 release lucio to be the strongest version because he was just so unkillable with heal aura + support passive. Then the eventual self healing reduction got nerfed to be even stronger and made amp healing almost useless.
so true. ow2 beta/release lucio was unstoppable
Sigma was broken on release with a glitch that allowed people to shoot 4 balls each time. Meaning you could one shot squishies back in the day.
I’ve never heard of that glitch but either way I’m not counting glitches or anything otherwise infinite ult bastion would be the best or infinite bury venture both glitches
9:54 made me wince so hard 😭
Wouldn’t dva’s peak be after the Juno buffs but before mid season, because idk if anyone actually played overmatch in high elo here but holy fuck she was so op
Nevermind as I watch more of the video I realise this was made just before dva Juno meta
@@grumpygoo7951 this was written right after season 12 came out when she was bad as I’ve been working on we’ve gotten like 3 patches which buffed her three times which is why I have her updated version than but dva’s isnt but yeah that combo was insane that shit was like super sonic until they nerfed it in the mid season patch
@@grumpygoo7951 lmao yeah all good
When Hanzo still had his one shot they boosted every projectile hitbox which made Hanzo shoot one shotting logs. That for me was the most op. I don’t remember if that was the season you said in the video or not, so I’m just gonna add that there.
Small correction on genji is that neither him nor tracer actually got a move speed bonus from the old dps passive since they both already had a higher base move speed
@@jakelastra9488 is this true?? Because I could’ve sworn he did but if not than that changes a lot
@@mercyI_Iyeah it was really a placebo effect, also the fact that blade gives him a 50% move speed which people mistook for the passive
@@jakelastra9488 bro what? They changed the passive for launch everyone got bonus move speed + reload speed for a few seconds, they changed the extra move speed thing genji and tracer have back to just them since the first beta of ow2
@@joeschipper6465 genji and tracer have had the extra move speed since 2016 and it never left
@@jakelastra9488 ye ik but in the first beta they gave it to all dps until it was removed and replaced with the new passive at launch, which stacked on top of thr bonus move speed genji and tracer already had
Someone make a workshop code where every hero is in the strongest state
Junkrat being the “worst dps” but rank 1 dps player is a junkrat one trick 😂
You forgot at the beginning of season 3 ball got his health changed to shield and got his mines buffed. That was a period when ball dominated. Also in season 2 Ramattra has infinite ult and was over powered, but completely overshadowed by hog. Even devs were surprised that people didn’t complain about him.
The smash music was such a nice touch 👏
@@NineToZenn thank you bro lol
I remember ramatcha after release was insane his ultimate just lasted forever
as a jr player, I honestly think he’s strongest right now, he got so many 1 shots back and can be an absolute terror at times with still impressive tank killing abilities
Based on win rate, currently Junkrat is one of the top performing DPS, and Sojourn is one of the worst performing.
Skill issue
If your looking at overbuffed than that data isn’t always accurate but either way there’s no denying that junkrat has really only been nerfed and o think after the last soj buff she’s pretty good tbh
Damn this is a long video. But I’m here for it. Love the roadhog and bastion part though
that zarya meta was probably the most miserable season for me in ow2. I hated that zarya meta even more than the orisa metas because at least its easier to dive orisas backline rather than zarya bubbling her supports and zarya with high charge is more lethal than orisa.
You forgot about brigitte.
i actually dont know how i did but i left my notes in the pinned comment but my bad
don’t worry, we all remember
maybe thats just a forgettable hero
@@its_lucky2526I prefer not to remember even tho it was pretty fun to use.
@@mercyI_Ishe is my main how dare u
Forgot the projectile size of release Soj was the size of a frisbee.
True
16:38 did you just say “Ryan” when referring to rein
I think.
When you see an Orisa you should be eating that B alive
When you see Torb if we have a weaver and that torb turret stays up for any reason someones getting reported for throwing.
Don't play him on Antarctica Peninsula ever, you SHOULD play him on Dorado and Numbani attack and hell even hollywood.
When Lifeweavers "Bad" I've noticed he falls into this healbot category everyone imagines he already is when you HAVE to play Weaver like that yes that's when he's "Bad"
No one knows how important Weaver’s gun is so most don't know when his "Good" states actually are or if he's even had any to begin with he's always just been like this "Meme" hero to them.
He's a breakpoint hero, he always walks on a thread when it comes to winning and losing soooo when I run out of Ammo or don't do enough damage ya know If I don't win my 1v1s or apply enough poke damage etc etc. That is the difference between winning and losing, between him being good and "Bad"
The further you can push the gun and get actual results even if it's just mid max value determines what Lifeweavers best state is.
Junkrat has been in the top 5 of win rate on over buff for basically every season of Overwatch 2….
Do yall remember ball season 3 when he got buffed to get shields, had adaptive shields almost always up and mine + piledrive was impossible to dodge because of how fast mines armed
11:15 Correction: These buffs were made in season 6
there was also a point of time where illari had a bug which gave her infinite ammo as a result of a buff to her healing during reload (it was insane but i dont think it was allowed in comp 🤦♂)
Yeah I remember that I actually have a video of me doing it in quick play so I’ll always have a clip of it but yeah it was pretty nuts
@@mercyI_I nice video though man keep it up 👍
Hi great video!
Do you have a playlist for the background music?

@@phoenix_kaori2478 yeah this is facts but the problem is that with lifeweavers design he pretty much has to stay ass or otherwise he is a toxic character that requires no aim because he’s healing outlocks I love lw so much but man it feels bad
widow is an interesting one I am a widow main and would argue shes been about the same the entire time obviously fluctuating based if dive is more meta or not but imo the most fun was day one of season 9 when widow had massive projectiles I mean you basically couldn't miss a headshot and you felt like a superhero it was patched basically immeadiately though, and also i feel like to comment on what you said about her being the sole reason of map pool removal isnt true i hope it was clear to the devs wether widow exists or not that map pools are boring and make playing the game a lot feel bad
@@Lambo-ux3uh I agree looking back on the video I lost tracking of where I was in the script cause my phone died when recording so I just kind of free balled it but map pools were not a fundamental part of the game and I think a lot of people are glad there gone and that super brief part in season 9 the only reason I didn’t put her there was cause of the meta but I understand your reasoning
bro thank you so much! i wanted to see a video like this for multiple month
Imagine all of this broken metas were not nerfed and still being in the game
I think with power creep with the state it’s at I think most likely the best character would probably be similar to the first meta with dva, tracer, soj, Lucio, kiri with really the only difference being dva instead of Winston. It would still be pretty fun to see
Tbh, junkrat is in his most broken state since he has his one shot back for some characters and takes tanks hp down faster than any other character
