First video shows the rebellion of the boy in the pig mask being chased by one of the brainwashed children, second video shows the oppression of the people by the masked man, third video shows the sacrifice and courage of the girls who escaped. Ultimately a story of standing up for yourself and what you know is right in this sick and twisted world, even if it won't turn out well for you. I may be wrong but that's what I got after like 15 views of all three.
I thought the second could be seen as the girl having been raped; she's in white, representing purity, and a red hood representing her hymen is removed by the masked man, she appears pained and having cried like she would if raped. The masked man is done with her, the trauma inflicted on her by him is what threatens to destroy her (the pig men), she dives back into society (the ocean) where her trauma can't chase her. She then arrives in one place of society, and learns that people encourage and applaud things similar to what she went through, the few that fight against it are silenced or shown to the public as the enemy. When she topples their leader, the rest of that society rail against it. Kind of means to me, that there are people we encounter who emphasize the traits a corrupt community has. Those people harm us. If we can overcome the harm they inflict, we can challenge the community, and eliminate those bad traits in the many.
MinockerSpanichle I like the point you make about society, but I don't think this just applies to rape, and I feel it may be a stretch to draw that kind of symbolism. I mean, it's not out of the realm of possibility, but I would love to hear the directors intentions.

In this video, we see that she both physically and metaphorically her life by taking his. As for how the pig people react, we've yet to find out. Although I would LOVE a part 4 to this saga. It's brilliant.

When I first found Modest Mouse, I had the same feeling as FireCrackerzzz. Intrigue, Confusion, and Sadness. I've been moving on through TH-cam for 3 or so years and had yet to find a band that ever made me feel the same mix of emotions as that day, but I've found it.
