I'm just about to bring home the xt2. After much research, (if you want my opinion on what I'm going to be doing) I have found that pulling out the k46 transmission and changing that oil as well will greatly increase the life of the transmission. There are magnets that need to be cleaned & I saw one k46 with an internal filter. 5w-50 synthetic is the oil to use. Some guys add an oil stabilizer to it. Looks like a great machine for the price! Thanks for the videos!
I've got a 10 year cub cadet ltx1040 that's your tractors grandfather, lol. They're almost identical, except theyve changed the adjustment method to level the deck. Mine is still running with 269 hours on the clock. I've replaced belts, blades, and the pto handle because it bent out of shape over time. Now its needing a new pto cable and spindle. Thinkin about fixin those few things and selling it before something major breaks. It's been good for it being such a cheap mower to begin with.
If we add the few ounces of oil the filter was primed with to the quart plus 12 ounces put in the crank case, we probably get exactly to the 1.5 qts amount. Nice video. Thx
my advice about the oil filter is to make a hole with a sharp screwdriver to hit it with a hammer or similar let it drain and you can remove the filter with 0 leaks
genuinely enjoying these videos bro. Trying to figure out which mower to buy after I realized that the push mower I recently bought for my .55 acre ain't gonna do the trick. Will this cub cadet 42 fit through a 48' gate?
Keep riding and you will gain weight and activate the safety switch. Look at those who have riding mowers and you will understand why they put those heavy duty springs on the seats.
I was a nightshift supervisor at a small manufacturing plant and had to do all the forklift training. I had to train a little woman that was 5ft tall and 90lbs. Every time she hit a dip or hole itd shut off on her.
I just got an xt1... man that 300 hour hour oil change seems crazy but I'm thinking about it. My old mower a ltx40 I got used with 200 hours I changed the oil when I got it and it has 235 hours now.... that was 6 years ago ðŪ ....so 300 hours would be in dog years forever lol. WTF why not right????... it'll be the first and last oil change I'll have to do by my scientifically calculated analysis. Gotta say the second I started driving around on the new xt1 I realized my old mower is a complete POS. Dang it's a a smooth ride maybe I'll mow my grass more often now.
Shoot i got 2024 xt1 euro with the 7000 seris kholer and it dowsnt have a oil cooler and it will burn thru that synthetic oil especially if u live somewhere in the south and that seat i hate it i wish i would have spent my 3000 for a diffrent mower
That oil change hose trick is awesome!
Thank you- I pull deck and use old oil or rust killer to lubricant underneath deck in winter and clean off in spring before first mow
I just one of these used and was getting ready to change the oil and filter. Your video helps a lot. Thanks.

Yes, bypass the seat safety switch. I've never had issues where that would have come in handy.

Are there any grease fittings on this model?
On the front axle for steering it has two. If it has anymore I haven't found them yet.
@@jlspowersportshobbies4568 thanks.
What model is your engine?
What hp is that engine?
