      Appreciate it. Yes it’s hard to find good copyright free music. I spent a lot of time curating soundtracks for different moods. Check out bensound.com

    I realized that both mowers had the Cub Cadet engines installed because the Kohler orientation is entirely different. I certainly appreciated your content. I have to do a tune up shortly. Someone has some cool ideas or money saving tips.

    If I missed this, sorry.
    But how often do you do this maintenance?

    Some dispute about using grease on the steering gear…..many say the grease attracts dirt and debris and causes wear…suggest using a spray dry lubricant instead…that spin on oil filter is a real pain…oil leaks all over when taking it off…I fashioned a small tray to divert the oil beyond the frame to the catch pan…just my two cents…good job..

    • @armedanddangerousdiy6096
      @armedanddangerousdiy6096  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same thought when I put the grease on, but I also know metal on metal is not the greatest idea either. I was figured I could clean it off with degreaser and acetone and try something else. I am going to go hunting for this mythical dry lubricant you mentioned is it just never occurred to me that such a product would’ve existed. Thank you!

      DRY LUBE or lithium dry lube

      Yea, makes sense to me to use a combination of grease and SAND for the stearing gears - NOT.... Scheeese - AGAIN...

    You should always apply NEW OIL on the new oil filter seal. Not old dirty gritty used oil. Who ever told you to use the old oil did not know what they were doing. You have new oil right there. Just a dab of it and you’re done.

    • @TheOysterjam
      @TheOysterjam ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sissymurphy9620 both of these "tips" are misinformation. new oil isn't needed on the o-rings (makes no difference) and you should NEVER intentionally introduce contaminants into the "post-filtered" side of filters by pouring unfiltered fluid into them. new oil is incredibly dirty straight out of the bottle

      Yes. I did it in the spring for this video, but typically I do it in the fall after leaf pick up because the dust clogs the air filter. This way it’s ready to go in the spring time.
