    For peoples who can't find Inflow in Blender 3.0: add fluid physich as normal, select "flow" as fluid type, then scroll down in the settings. First, select "liquid" as flow type, then select "inflow" as flow behaviour.

    You can hover over any color swatch in blender, hit ctrl-c and go to the color node you want, hover over it and hit ctrl-v, it paste the exact color you want. an easy tip to get the same color as another node in your materials.

    I'd use a Black&White (less disk space required) dynamic paint image sequence as input factor for a Mix Shader node rather than a Color Mix node: this way you can have the the paint more glossy/wet than the wall. Both shader could then share the same displacement map.
    It's better to always apply transformations (ctrl+A) before any simulation to avoid issues.
    Some steps are repeated, e.g. you could simply leave the default cube, or enter edit mode for the domain and duplicate a face to create the wall (and Alt+P to set it as separate object).
    And, as mentioned, definitely check the color management you're using to avoid unexpected color hues!
    Btw, the idea to mix dynamic paint and fluid simulation is good!

    8:52 I thing that happens because you're baking it in Filmic, and importing in also in Filmic, so change to sRGB and bake, check if that fixes it, or just make it white and use a color ramp to chose its color

  • @kenjinks5465
    @kenjinks5465 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Make sure before you bake out your image sequence from the dynamic paint that your colour management is not Filmic or anything other sRGB. Then you will get the colour you expect.
    Excellent idea for the dynamic paint tho, I will share in the community, your vid. I am sure people will get a bit of use from this!

    Hey, just wanted to shout out that I appreciated you showing it through the full export. I've been working with Blender for a few months but somehow completely missed you could just straight export to a movie file, instead of having to export each frame and then bring them back together in another software like Premiere. I know that's probably something super simple but I never realized. Really appreciate it and the rest of this tutorial!

      Normally you shouldn't export directly to video, so if Blender freezes or crashes during renders, you can continue from where you left off, instead of having to start over because your partial video is corrupted.

      "boundary box" i believe was in settings within the physics properties (with cube selected) > Check mark fluid > expand the tree for fluid > expand particles > I checked "Mesh" go to Upres Factor (this is to up the resolution of the mesh) which i think maybe the same thing as to his subdivisions with boundary box. AFter that I put particle Radius as .010 but i'm not sure if that will give the same result. all in all. • @mollykaplanoflos
    @mollykaplanoflos 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    great tutorial! My image sequence shows up only as one solid color (it's the right color at least) unless I reduce the alpha of the brush and even then the splatter effect in the image sequence is barely noticeable. The fluid definitely intersects the mesh. I wonder if this is because my canvas is fully inside of the fluid domain? I have color management set to sRGB Standard as suggested in previous comments. Do I need to set an initial color for my canvas? I feel like I'm missing something

    • @mollykaplanoflos
      @mollykaplanoflos 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      okay I figured it out. Because the fluid domain is it's original cube shape for the first frame, it colors the whole canvas for that frame. If i set the start frame of the dynapaint image sequence for after the fluid sim starts, I get the expected result. Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue!
