    About MLB.com: Former Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League Club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball's Internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the Internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live full length MLB game over the Internet when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com also provides fans with a stable of Club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, that deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.
    Major League Baseball consists of 30 teams split between the American and National Leagues. The American League consists of the following teams: Baltimore Orioles; Boston Red Sox; Chicago White Sox; Cleveland Indians; Detroit Tigers; Houston Astros; Kansas City Royals; Los Angeles Angels ; Minnesota Twins; New York Yankees; Oakland Athletics; Seattle Mariners; Tampa Bay Rays; Texas Rangers; and Toronto Blue Jays. The National League, originally founded in 1876, consists of the following teams: Arizona Diamondbacks; Atlanta Braves; Chicago Cubs; Cincinnati Reds; Colorado Rockies; Los Angeles Dodgers; Miami Marlins; Milwaukee Brewers; New York Mets; Philadelphia Phillies; Pittsburgh Pirates; San Diego Padres; San Francisco Giants; St. Louis Cardinals; and Washington Nationals.

    23:09 -- Dave Roberts was going through so many relievers last night that after Puig's HR, I almost thought that he was gonna accidentally walk out to the mound to try to pull Devenski out of the game😂😂😂

    Was sitting on the 3rd base side.... Absolutely the greatest game of any sport that i have witnessed. The roller coaster of emotions that were flowing through everyones bodies was absolutely incredible. I dont think ill ever witness a game this great ever again, and im completely fine with that🤘🏻 Houston deserved this series and went out and took it by the horns, Texas style

    Hey ump, when the catcher catches the ball, and then raises his glove a few inches into the strike zone? Ya, the catcher did it because he thought it was a ball. On strikes, the catcher doesn't need to move it into the strike zone. Brutal game.

  • @EZee213
    @EZee213 6 ปีที่แล้ว +84

    Hats off to both teams for a great game, but a huge FU to the home plate umpire Bill Miller. Way to completely dictate the game with your gross incompetence and egregious strikezone. If there was ever a game to be to be the impetus for an automated/electronic strikezone, this is it. Bill Miller is an absolute farce as an ump and should be ashamed of himself.

    • @lukemorosini4
      @lukemorosini4 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      They really do need to move to automatic strike zones eventually unless they manage to really raise the quality of umpires. Their incompetence can really affect a game. Even if the bad calls go both ways it still ruins it a way. And this is just from a fans perspective, must be more frustrating for the players having to deal with these clowns.

    • @Prkwon
      @Prkwon 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No kidding. literally half of the strike calls were out of the strike zone. Maybe it's just me but especially Dodgers pitching were affected in key moments.

    • @AL_K_
      @AL_K_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      This makes no sense. It was obvious that the strike zone was expanded by Miller...but guess what? A larger strike zone is a big advantage to the pitchers....ummm 25 combined scored runs. The expanded strike zone had nothing to do with the outcome of this game. There were several good out of the strike zone pitches that hitters clobbered. Blaming Miller for anything is a giant fail !!!

      Haha sore Dodgers and Yankees fans can't find anything to blame but umpires. Sore losers how about the Dodgers blowing a 4 run lead then a 3 run lead and they left runners on 2nd & 3rd with only 1 out in the 8th inning. They have nothing to blame but themselves. If anything a larger strike zone from the umpire would have helped them.

    You have the Dodgers vs Astros, home crowd, umpire and MLB. You Dodgers have battled the Astros like no one has at their home this postseason and are just shy of winning. This tells me that you guys have all the fight needed to beat them these next 2 games. Your bats are alive and well to finish it at home. P.S. Screw the MLB for making the balls slicker. Now you have dominant pitchers getting pounded because they can't find their sliders.

    • @KWCline91
      @KWCline91 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sweaty N Ready you say that like the Dodgers were the only team to take the Astros to the limit. I think you might’ve forgetting the Astros we’re battle-tested after playing the Yankees in seven games. LA had no trouble going 7-1 prior to the World Series and that was both good and bad.

    Dodgers hung in there and scored 12 runs against the cheating Astros. How hard did the cheating players have to work that game? I love Kershaw man it breaks my heart that he was robbed of a ring that year💔.

      How can they get all pumped and excited when they knew they were cheating? How embarrassing now for them. Hard to hit a ball without knowing what’s coming (2020) look at their stats now. These guys cheated 2017 through 2019. Who was: springer, bregman, gurriel, and Correa wasn’t even good before these years and now that they got caught look at 2020, they are all struggling cause they don’t know what’s coming now.

    Baseball seriously needs to do something about these 5 hour games

    • @redbug3485
      @redbug3485 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lord Beasley It's really rare for a 5 hour game. The game pushes the limits of players and fans, and that's how long it takes. It's the same in other sports just not as noticeable.

    • @WhereIsTheIntruder
      @WhereIsTheIntruder 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It was a ridiculous, 25 run, extra innings game, in the world series. A 5 hour game in August is a problem, not a game like this in the WS.

    • @americangiant1003
      @americangiant1003 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am with Lord. Even though 5-hour games are rare still the half inning breaks between commericals along with the endless pitching changes/visits by both club probably added as much as 30-40 minutes to this otherwise instant classic. Going forward 1) MLB really needs a shot clock for pitches 2)If Umpiring does not improve asap by next season just follow tennis(used for lines calls for at least 10 years now) and go to an computer to determine strike zones.
      This game was a classic (not the best ever as too many bad umpiring and skipper decisions by both teams ruined it)but ending into the wee hours of the morning (East Coast time)especially on a night majority of TV viewers have to work or go to school is not a good way to grow the sport for younger kids.
      MLB really does need to bring back at least 1 late afternoon WS game starting at say 5pm(East coast time)and all other games start no later than say 730pm ET or 430pm on the west coast for 1st pitch for the world series.

      @Prkwon 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i agree with you one hundred percent. I personally think games especially in the weekends should start earlier. 5:20 start is too late for east coast and also not exactly early for west coast either. I miss the days when a pitcher who are doing fine stays in the game. I personally think Clayton could've gone longer, but no DR had to micro manage something that isn't necessary.

    • @gfox9295

      Well, I remember a lot of my fellow Astros fans blaming our losses in Houston in 2005 vs. the White Sox on Bud Selig for not letting us play with the roof closed as we wanted to for louder crowd noise.
      All teams' fans can sometimes be silly and irrational. That's sports fandom for ya. ;)

    At 8:25 if the right fielder actually jumped on the ball and ran like a man its a different ball game..you give it all you got on every play expecially when youre in the world series.
