I own a 4a and 5a and honestly the 5a really isn't that big. I have no issue carrying the 5a around all day and compared to some other new phones, this thing ain't that big.
Google's pricing for these phones are so baffling to me. Less than a year after releasing the Pixel 5 at $699, they introduce the pixel 5a which essentially has the same specs as the 5 but for $250 less.
I like the 5a in the side by side., the size is huge .the speakers rock ..the refresh is almost there .. the battery size definitely my day in a nutshell 4680 ! now if only humans were 7% larger and had pockets the size of mailboxes hahaha 😝
Could you please cover the camera testing. Not to compare the picture quality but to check for the heating issue. Heard that during 4k recording it gets heated and also during continuous snaps it gets warmer. Please cover this topic.
@@PhoneBattles This is strange and weird. Why do they even have these features if they are of no use actually. Personally disappointed. Keeping this out, in India we have only 4a (costs 31k) available to purchase. Jus found that S20 FE is sold here for 39k. So do you think the S20 FE camera does a good job compared to pixel? Let me know your thoughts.
Taking photos, people are mentioning that the 5a's photos are lacking in refinement compared to the 5. Some say it has it do with the lack of the laser focus sensor on the 5a. A very small detail and not necessary but not sure if that's the reason.
thanks I wasn't aware of that and haven't really noticed a difference myself in my limited use, but I focus a lot more on video quality than photo quality
There's something I wanted to ask. It might seem like a stupid feature. But it's something I've grown to love on my Huawei phone. Can you take a video using both front and back camera at the same time? Like video in video.
Hello. I can't record my screen (screen recording function) for more than 12 minutes with my Google Pixel 5. Would you have a tip to work around this problem please? Thanks a lot.
Haven't had any overheating issues at 1080p 60fps if that's what you're asking, though I have at 4K 60fps. Quality is decent for video but Pixels are better at photos. Video quality isn't bad just don't expect it to match the top flagships. Video calls depend on the app though I haven't done any yet
It has a higher level of water resistance, IP68 vs IP67, fast wireless charging & reverse wireless charging ability, more RAM 8GB vs 6GB, the Spectral + Light flicker sensor vs none on 5a 5G, and 5G mmwave support and smaller bezels
Way are you smashing the mobile phones together it doesn't feel right every time you do that i think is he an idiom I'm sorry bought its the truth i apologize.
For people who don't play a lot of games and apps at the same time it'll be fine, but yes otherwise expect some app and game restarts. 6GB is low by Android 2021 standards but fine for the average customer
Lol what are you talking about? I've been receiving phones from Google prior to release date since the Pixel 3 (3, 3a, 4 XL, 4a, 5 and now 5a I've posted videos for prior to their releases). Why would I do a fake unboxing for this phone? The box also says 5a on it. As for the lighting looking different, it's probably that I have a different lighting setup and camera than that person. The color is mostly black and the green is subtle and depends on lighting. Finally, if you look at the Geekbench test I ran it gives information about the phone and says it's the 5a.
I'd chose pixel 5a anytime over pixel 5
The price difference isn't worth it
I preffer Pixel 5's pocket friendly size
I will prefer pocket friendly price
I own a 4a and 5a and honestly the 5a really isn't that big. I have no issue carrying the 5a around all day and compared to some other new phones, this thing ain't that big.
Finally, the speaker comparison we've all been waiting for
The 5a is an even better deal now because of 50 off for black friday. Meaning $399 brand new. Not bad...
It depends on person's size
Google's pricing for these phones are so baffling to me. Less than a year after releasing the Pixel 5 at $699, they introduce the pixel 5a which essentially has the same specs as the 5 but for $250 less.
yeah but pixel 5 probs dropped 100 in price so only 150 more. and you're getting wireless charging, more ram and 90Hz for that.
@@rizdog5735 what's about Pixel 5 Battery Backup and Sot?
Battery is the big upgrade, please do the drain test
Pixel 5 size is perfect
Been waiting for this!
5a would be a better deal for a lower price, better speakers and battery. Go with 5 for the fancier features.
Why you mentioned bettery speakers
Excellent video. No fluff. Covered everything I'm interested in comparing.
Which one is winner
To me the fact that 5a is being compared to a higher tier device albeit old is already a win
4a 5G user here. 5a remove Laser Auto Focus module (PDAF), it might be affecting the focus performance in low light environment if compare with 4a 5G.
If only 5 have headphone jack, I would've chosen it in a heartbeat.
The Pixel 5A looks like a bigger chin than it actually is
It looks bigger here than irl or this is how it looks and it just looks smaller in other I does
@@dip1697 i think he meant it looks bigger online, but irl it's not as big
Because of shadow

Love it..realy searching for this type of.comparation
Thank you for this comparison. It was straight to the point and just right.
What about the heating issue in pixel 5a, ? Is it manageable about videos shooting or clicking pictures ! Answer please, Tia
The phone has build issues and has high probability of bricking once it falls soo I'd prefer not to get it over the 5
How can I contact Google? I want to tell them that the subtitle guy messed up everything in their two-beautiful phones' review
I love the pixel 5's size
Which one shold i take for photo and video ?

Just tested, 5a lasted 6 min 23 sec and 5 lasted 9 min 57 sec in 4K 60fps mode

why test when both cameras are EXACTLY the same hardware?
Pranesh Ravi - I don't own the S20 FE but heard it's pretty good
If I consider battery and camera which will be great to buy?
Which phone is best in purpose of Battery backup?( i'm light user). Pixel 5 or 5 A
Thank you very much!

In personal use so far no, but just tested each while recording in 4K 60fps mode. 5a lasted 6 min 23 sec and 5 lasted 9 min 57 sec

Pixel 5
Pixel 5a
Pixel 6

Unfortunately no, I don't think that's possible, but maybe with a third party app
best comparison video. thanks for the detailed comparison.
I wonder using a OnePlus 7t it would be a update to get pixel 5a?
Hmm in some ways yes, such as software updates, but overall I'm not sure
How’s the battery on both? Thinking of getting a used 5
You'd be better off getting a 5a.
battery life on 5 is pretty good, but significantly better on 5a. both should get you through the day without any issues.
@@slantblant1 I prefer the smaller form factor, premium material and 90hz.
Watch the video recently about a battery test comparing both and the Pixel 5 beat the 5A by 10 minutes.

This phone supports 18W charger. If I use a 20 W charger. Will there be any problems? Please let me know 🙏🙏
no problem with 20W!
good review, thanks
5a speakers sound better quality
Pixel 5 is king.
Pixel 5 is the flagship product while 5a is a budget phone
waiting for oneplus 9 pro vs asus rog phone 5 ultimate
Is it fine to for recording1080 at 60fps ? And how about video calls ?

Have the Pixel 5a 5G the face id ?
Why does he crush the phones together
Why not?
That was my very first thought.
The price is so nice for the 5a too ..
Wait... They have the same SoC?! Why is the 5 more expensive?!
Yeah, wouldn't surprise me if they discontinue the 5
It has a higher level of water resistance, IP68 vs IP67, fast wireless charging & reverse wireless charging ability, more RAM 8GB vs 6GB, the Spectral + Light flicker sensor vs none on 5a 5G, and 5G mmwave support and smaller bezels
The best comparison
Ngl it was better without music
I've done music for these videos for the past 3 years or so, I tested a few years ago and videos with music tend go get more views
Mmm thinking about getting the 5a instead of s9 but it looks like a big boy
It's not that big actually, it's just the 5 is pretty small
No photography? this is a pixel phone.
I don't focus on photography as the videos take long enough as they are, but other channels cover that in-depth
@@PhoneBattles ahh okiee.. that's something I'm looking for because if i want to buy a pixel, that's because of photography
That's fair I just don't have enough time to add more tests so I focus on the video aspect instead
Thank you

Lol they never get damaged or scratched in any way. Been doing that for years
Your wrong video is 4k60ps for pixel 5 but good video
Nope, both recorded at 1080p 60fps. I double checked, and this video itself is only 1080p anyway
same cameras?... omg... no
Is 6g ram enough since 8g ram becomes more and more common?

Which variant?
Any indians?

Yup 🙌🏼
Thats not even a Pixel 5a.
