- I put the new Google Pixel 5 Camera to the test and shoot photos and 4K60 videos as well as astrophotography with the smartphone. I share test photos and sample videos from the Pixel 5 and list the best features I like. Most of the footage and photos are unedited to show you the real world test of the Pixel 5.

I recommend viewing them on a larger desktop screen to really pixel peep.
Itchban, my son is taking photos for grad school, and his pixel is the only camera including go pros that are getting decent photos. He was very interested when I told him about the astrophotography the pixel 5 can take.

@@onelivingsoul2962 you cannot compare the google and samsung in that section, just because samsung is not interested on that... so samsung is not gonna adjust all the photos that takes in one minute, therefore stars are gonna look ugly

I really didn't know which phone to buy for at least a year or so. I'm an android user but this year I thought about switching to iPhone 12 mini. But the pixel 5 made my decision clear.

My Meizu note 9 is well up to this standard. Up to 20s exposure, ISO 3200, manual focus to inf. Use the 10sec shutter delay, gives you time to set down the phone - can manage without tripod, and if there is a wall, that keeps stray light down.

It is the best still but others have come close.
Other phones are catching up man. Google is too reliant on their software. While other phone has been upgrading their camera with huge megapixels camera,google has been stuck with their 12mp camera. If they don't get out of their comfort zone and experiment with new stuff, other phone going to start catching up.
@@danialabdullah29 huge MP on a phone sized sensor mean next to nothing. 12 might be slightly low but tbh it’s a bit of a sweet spot for sensors this size. You get 4K, you get higher res than you will ever see on any screen (phone, computer, tv) and plenty of res for printing, and you get the benefits of larger pixel size, better low light performance etc.
The pixels are great, no doubt, but saying that nothing comes close is just not true.
Quality vid dude. I knew Pixels were known for the camera, but I didn't know about all the additional features and the astro mode. Just amazing.

I'm astounded by the nightsight and astrophotography results. I was tempted by S20 FE but the camera capabilities look far better on this even though it lacks a telephoto lens.
You made a pretty big blunder lol, I got the s20fe 5g, and the 865 chipset in it is far better than the pixel 5, and I have a relative with a pixel 5, and both phones are very comparable in photos, and the only difference being the s20 fe videos and selfie camera is far better (we both agreed, no biases here) and of course the zoom is also far better
The s20 fe also has an Amoled 120hz display, although you can just very slightly tell that it’s different to 90hz. Battery life is also just comparable, no big difference even though the battery capacity is larger than the pixel

@@farhankhan2482 Its the google's software that makes photos look good but many of them are unnatural, like those clicked in the low light, but still good for general public but professional photographer like more natural images. Same with iphone, in night mode sky looks unnatural.
Now imagine if Google didn’t track everything you do.

Thanks for the info. I found an annoying issue in pixel 5, that is I can't open the camera app with the front camera. When I close the camera app with the front camera, next time I launch the camera app, it always starts with the back camera by default. Do you have the same problem?

It’s pretty crazy. You’ll need a tripod or something sturdy to hold it still.

@@talewish but it was fine with me with just the camera. I have also watched the review on Samsung S20 and the camera even at night was great too. But there's a lot of camera apps now that we can use to boost the audio or those that has noise-cancellations thing I guess

Hmm that was my friend shooting a photo.. it was an accident haha.. he wasn't standing still he was just in frame for about 1-2 mins.
