Hey everyone! Just a heads up - the video goes mute in 2 spots due to copyright claim to the music. During this section, Josephine is just reading the text from the Tik Tok - so thankfully her commentary wasn't affected. Hope you can still enjoy! Thanks so much for watching! ♥🩰
I found a ballet tiktok compilation on TH-cam and I would really like if you would react to them in a video so I really hope you read this AND NO ONE HAS CUPS so here is the link th-cam.com/video/vM3Z0XYmjS4/w-d-xo.html
I love these videos. I'm not a dancer, never even been in the same room as a pointe shoe, but Josephine is a compelling watch! She's funny and always comments positively. I am sorry, however, she's so traumatised by cups! Maybe a counselling session ot two would help?! 🤔 🤭😊 Keep the tiktok reaction vids coming and I'll keep watching...deal?! 😊❤
Omg the pointe tap shoes! I remember going to a dance competition when I was 11 (2004/2005) where we competed against a team that did a group dance in them…my mind was blown. I was like “Welp…I guess WE lost…” 😂
I don’t know how anyone hasn’t broken their foot with the cups yet? Like how? Also, I was just watching all of your reaction videos the other day and I love them!!
Omg video idea! What if Josephine guesses what shoe brands and maybe even styles we wear? We can send in pictures without the soles showing and it can be kind of a quiz :)
1) I burst out laughing when Josephine pulled out the juice box 🧃 😂😂😂 2) this series title NEEDS to be changed to Pointe Shoe Fitter Broken by the Internet (and drinkware).
@@bluecobaltsteph2689 You are most welcome! If you like instant tea, you also can try Teh Sosro or they might also call it as Teh Botol (Tea in a Bottle). This is the most popular drink here in Indonesia. Both brands are locals here. Hope you enjoy them!
Allow me to introduce myself. When I was 5 years old, I danced ballet for a year. I then quit because I moved to different country. I then figure skated for about 6 months, maybe a little more. Later on I swam competitively, eventually ended up dancing hip-hop at my school and at a local studio for nearly 2 years! I am currently 13 and I will be turning 14 this month, on the 18th! I recently joined a professional ballet school in the vicinity, I am really enjoying my lessons (3 times a week, 1 hour and 30 minutes). At the moment, I am in a group with 10 year olds however, my teacher had told me that she will put me into a group that's around my age (the girls there are already en pointe). Tomorrow I will be having my 6th lesson, and I'm really excited. I do a deep stretch daily, that lasts nearly 2 hours. On the contrary, I do some pilates to further aid me. I try my best at class every time, I try to remember all of my corrections, I also rehearse what I did at class at home. I'm already begging to see changes, my flexibility has improved immensely, my strength has increased, my coordination and my overall performance. I feel stronger than before, I also see my self losing weight in specific locations. I am really trying to stay dedicated to ballet, and I have begun taking it much more seriously. I would appreciate any kind of advice, thank you for reading this lengthy comment of mine. I wish you all a good day, or night.
I love your story!! I turned 13 recently and will also be 14 this year! I started ballet when I was 12 and will most likely go en pointe in a year. I love ballet it’s so fun and yet so structured. Good luck in your new class!
Ive been dancing for 10 years! And i practise continuous, my teachers say, Practise at home! Stop being lazy! Im always in the back row just sitting like : i practise can i be seen?
Love the tiktok reaction videos. I would also love to know more about pointe shoes for ballet dancers who already have bunions. I have been struggling to find the perfect pair.
The first sentence had me lol! About not recognising the face but definitely the feet. I love these tik tok reactions too, nobody does them better, and it's authentic as well. The red tap shoes was amazing! I bought some years ago just for the pretty factor! And the next video with the different colours and type of shoes, the lace up taps etc. Now xrays- that's my area having worked previously in healthcare! More time tok reaction vids- yes please!!!
LOL I went to ballet class in the 70's, we had a strict uniform - black leotard, pink tights under the leotard, pink leather shoes. Period! We did all look the same. The teacher had a long stick that he beat on the floor to keep time, and he would use it to correct us instead of touching us. At least we had a real pianist.
Dear Shari, I'm as old as you because I remember similar uniform. However my teacher was a sweet little nymph named Mrs Cole who used her old dead shoes as doorknobs in her studio and house. I loved all her white hair and the fact she kept every costume in a room in her house. Magic :-)
I honestly love these reaction videos 😂 the cup trauma is very real. I do have to wonder though, since you're so good with feet and all, would you be able to distinguish a ballet dancer's feet from a non-dancer who may have feet that look like they dance? One of my favorite TH-camrs TwoSetViolin just did a concept trying to determine what (if any) instrument someone played based on their hands and honestly its a pretty cool concept. I wonder if it could be applied to feet 🤔
I keep all of my pointe shoes and get shadow boxes from Michaels and frame them all, it looks super cool especially if you fix them up a little and paint them, or use foundation so they look nicer
The second person shown is from a family that lives in poverty but they really want to dance. Some people got together to get them new shoes and lessons I think.
I feel so bad for the girl in the second Tik Tok. Not being able to afford a new pair of pointe is heartbreaking to me. If this is possible, I want everyone to come together and raise enough money to get this lovely ballerina all the supplies she needs! Pointe shoes included!
6:46 My ballet teacher said I have short enough toes that I don't need a spacer. I do have a big gap between my big toe and my 2nd toe, so we tried spacers when I first went on pointe but they were to long for my toes and far to uncomfortable
3:36 What a coincidence (don’t know if I spelled that right) I actually when to see Hamilton live on Sunday 😁 Also I love your videos and I’m a dancer that is not on point yet but these videos make me super excited for my first point shows
I naturally have “pointe shoe shaped toes” and I haven’t started point yet (a couple of weeks until I do I’m so exited!) my mom says I get it from my dad
i caught you drinking teh kotak sosro in this video! it's from indonesia, my country, i miss those. wonder where did u get it? anyway, love and always enjoying all your videos! ^^
With regards to the ortho TikTok; I wonder if dancers who are students now will have the same issue in 10-20 years that current professional ballet dancers do, because shoes and accessories/the attitude towards “you will be in pain, deal with it” have all changed a lot in a relatively short space of time.
I used to do ballet as a child maybe like 3-4 years old, I still remember most of my Christmas performances, never had pointe shoes tho they look painful 😭
the cups also give me anxiety the tap shoes on pointe are what my nightmares are made of (but would love to see a show with those tho) the space themselves in class, i think i'm guilty (or just too tall idk maaan)
2:45 that's paula leggett chase! she was the original mitzi in the broadway production of crazy for you. She tapped en pointe in stiff upper lip while on a table! She's an icon.
If you're scared of tap on pointe, you should go watch some Irish dance tik tok. .... we do point work in our hard shoes, (make noise similar to tap shoes, but built with a thick flat toe so we can go up on point)
Honestly it makes me angry how many people I see on TikTok saying “ThOsE aReN’t PoInTe ShOeS tHeY’rE cUpS” when it’s so obvious to me that they’re real pointe shoes in socks 😭🤚
Wow. I remember seeing dancers in the 1940s with 'toe shoe taps,' and some of the dancers were AMAZING. The taps were much smaller than the ones in this video. The 'dead toe shoes' thing really cracked me up, because I had a pair that were soooooo dead I held them together with DUCT TAPE! Why? Because it was a pair that felt incredibly good on my feet and I wore them only to dance on a concrete floor. (Which did NOT happen very often at all.) I miss my ballet days even more than my tap dancing days. MS kind of sucks sometimes.

@@pmac4779 okay?L so she’s not allowed to compliment dancers feet in shoes?
