Loved my visit to Western Australia. Fremantle and surrounding towns, Kings Park, Pinnacles national park, a visit to Rottnest Island and a river tour beginning from Perth and including surrounding areas.
*in 1968 The Equals had 5 men [three black and two white] - in 1995 The Equals had 4 men [two white and two black] - the 1968 version had a little more passion and intensity - i still enjoy the song* 9:29 PM PDST on Thursday, 2 September 2021 CE
I grew up with Eddie Grant's "Electric Avenue" and only found out about the Equals, years later. While this performance is spot on, maybe it's my gen x aversion to modern rock and the 90's that has me loving the sound of this performance but feeling sad about visual of the performance. A bunch of sad pensioners looking on. Eddie Grant wearing my mom's outfit. The bassist playing a Steinberger (headless guitar made famous by late-80's noodle-rockers). The whole band looks late 80's in the mid-90's...I was in college in the early 90's and everyone was into obscure garage rock. They could've done it old school....or at least "grunge", style wise. I saw the Silver Apples this same year.
Great song when it came out and still is.

Love this man's voice gives me goosebumps. Love when he says flirting. 🇬🇧
That man is ....Eddy Grant !!!
@@stephenbennett1643 Nope, it's Derv Gordon.
Doktori!!!
Great hit song on rock stage, when rock is bean no1
This is the most accurate live version of this song I could find on here, the rhythm is correct for once.
That's cause it's the same group that played it in the 60s....
That’s because it’s lipsynched.
@jasonking1284 no its not lol..the lead guitar is a friend of mine and he was not original.. he's just a brilliant guitarist..still is
@@shenayduffy4043 And the drummer is not the original guy either.
Hit of 1968
Sr. Garcia
Unforgetable song that still echoes in the corridors of my mind from age ten!
I love his spats shoes.

great group great song they havent aged a wink since the 60s haha
Good sound. Like the original!!! Only the original!!!
I would have been up dancing 👍👍👍👍👍

Such enthusiasm from the audience
Peaceful song
Anyone laugh out loud when thaley panned the camera to the lady clapping
Although Eddie was more prominent, Dev was always the lead singer, excellent single.
What happened to Dev's twin brother who was part of the original Equals ?
@@martinusgroninger1875 I think he passed.
Eddy Grant.....yeah
.....................like this much more than the other "baby come back"
❤❤❤❤😂😂
They shouldn't never show the audience in this video.

Pqp!!!!!!! Cooome baaaaaack... baby come baack....
This clip is older now,28 years, than the song was when the clip was recorded.
Great performance. Stiff audience.
So easy to play....just 2 chords. Every garage band starting out should play this.

Is that Eddie Grant singing?
The audience has aged too. Wow
I wish the audience wouldn’t smile so much,🤣😂
Están esperando que cuente usted el chiste
Can hear eddy grant but can't see him!!
national hide and seek champion that's why
Cos it wasn't Eddie singing it in original it was this guy
@@shenayduffy4043I think you'll find it was !
The audience...look so serious...
Robots don't smile.
Where's Lincoln Gordon?
The bass line reminds me of 3rd Stone From the Sun by Jimi Hendrix
Never mind come back for fuck sake take me back
0:33 What's red's problem?
Are the audience dead?
Did Nirvana copy this riff for their song come as you are???
Because he's not there!!???
Girls run away when there's no mansion and no money. Just saying "come back" won't help.
Not much of the Equals left in this
The Less-Than-or-Equals 1:41
maybe ok? is it REAL?
The equals baby come back uit 1995 UB40 kwam uit 1995 met baby come back
No eddy grant
1995 ? ? --- No . . . The time is about 1968.
A videó 1995-ös, de a '68-as felvételt vágták be alá. Nem szeretem, amikor zenekarok ilyenre vetemednek.
They'd lost Eddie Grant by this time. It doesn't have such a powerful sound as the original.
NOT BAĎ , but the ORIGINÀL EQUALS were MUÇH BETTER In MY 0pinion with EDDIE GRANT
Because had 2 more musicians in 60s
