Brings me back to ~1996 at the family lakehouse, which had a super 60's vibe of decor, and a classic stereo built into some sort of furniture piece. The house was always full of 60's and 70's music. I was like 5. This track was one of my favorites that would play over whatever radio or records we had going. Never found the name of the song until 20 years later.
Mouth and MacNeal was a Dutch pop duo that enjoyed some commercial success in the 1970s. They are best known for their million selling recording of "How Do You Do" in 1972, which topped the Dutch chart and became a U.S. top ten hit."How Do You Do," music and lyric by Hans van Hemert and Harry van Hoof.
Some genius said they Mouth and McNeil were known for “Hello-A” but that is horse manure. In the US “How Do You Do’ is the only song fans of the early 70’s remember them from.

They had more hits, also solo afterwards. “I see a star” e.g. was the Dutch entry to Eurovision, ending third place in the same year Abba won, but became a small hit anyway.
I heard a cover of this on a Tejano radio station yesterday (in Spanish). Forgot to look up the few English lyics I could remember when I got home yesterday. This morning I couldn't remember anything except that the song had a lot of "na na na na"s in it. Thought I would never know what song it was (too many other songs with "na na na na" in them). But, tonight, "How do you do? na na" popped in to my mind out of nowhere.
I completely forgot about this song until it came up in a FB post a little while ago. A happy, care free simple song and video just like those times were as teenagers when it was a hit!!

I love Maggie's soulful voice at 1:30 "Once I said I wanted you, and I remember why."
MAN! I can't remember the last time I heard this song. Wow!
What a great song from 1972? The year I graduated high school, and started college. WOW!
I was born this year... in May 1972. It's cool to go back and see what was popular the year I was born.
Now I'm 52 and life flew by. I love Drum & Bass, Vaporwave and 80s music...but I always go back to my roots.
Their greatest hit in the 70's. It was no 1 for weeks in the Dutch top 40, I listened then the song for many times
Awesome song by an awesome duo, but it wasn't quite cold enough in there.
Oh those '70s bulbs!
No one even noticed that Mouth didn't know his own strength and broke the fiddle
So you like the chill factor.
They are best known for their million selling recording of "How Do You Do" in 1972, which topped the Dutch chart and became a U.S. top ten hit."How Do You Do," music and lyric by Hans van Hemert and Harry van Hoof.
yep.we played. Rd Noordzee; 538mhz.
Nah - I'd say they are more known for the songs "Hello-A" and "I See a Star" - both of whom topped the Swedish chart in the 70's.
Some genius said they Mouth and McNeil were known for “Hello-A” but that is horse manure. In the US “How Do You Do’ is the only song fans of the early 70’s remember them from.
“Hello-A” launched a band called ABBA
Really? How clever of you.@@irishguy200007
Esa era buena música!!❤ Aún la escucho desde Apatzingán México
I fondly recall this song, played on our various AM stations, circa fall 1971. Such a fun and sweet song!
Beneide jeden der diese Zeit mit der besten Musik ever erleben durfte
Oooh my stars !!! I truly love this song !!!! I miss the 70s sooooo much !!! Music was truly the best❤
Let my granddaughter hear this and she said it sounded like Wizard of Oz music and I agree, Love this song one of my favorites of long ago thanks for the memory.
I remember being on a bus on the way to a junior high field trip and we sang this song the whole damn way, don't remember where we went, but boy do I remember singing this song...
A part of my childhood too. Pre-MTV, this. But I can't believe this is the first time I"ve actually seen the singers. MacNeal was cute! And I pictured Mouth as looking like Meatloaf. lol
Das war noch eine coole Zeit. Immer wieder schön
The good old 70'ties music
QUE HERMOSA CANCION PRECIOSISIMA COMO PASA EL TEMPO YA NADIE HACE MUSICA COMO ESE ENTONCES HERMOSA EPOCA QUE NUNCA SE OLVIDARÁ.... LO MAS EXTRAÑO ES QUE YO NO NACÍ EN LOS 70s NI EN LOS 60s SOY DE 1988 Y ESTA MUSICA ES LA UNICA QUE ALEGRA MI ESPÍRITU. SALUDOS A TODA LA BELLISIMA GENERACION DE LOS BABY BOOMERS QUE AHORA RONDAN LOS 80 AÑOS.
Ah, stumbled across this, never heard of the duo, but must have heard it in the 70s when I was in my 20s. I absolutely love it, am playing it over and over including the one where they sing to police in Russia or somewhere. Both voices are marvellous, his deep and thoaty and hers so rich and lovely.
I JUST STUMBLED ACROSS IT 15 HOURS LATER !! C.L.A.S.S.I.C 🎧🎧🤘🤘🙏🙏
A popular act from the Netherlands. "How Do You Do" charted here in the states in 1972.
It's THEIR SONG. If you heard the song you've heard them
@@AlmostReady504 Why do you gotta be a tool? If he said he never heard of them, he never heard of them. Stfu.
I was in college, had a beautiful girlfriend that I adored (until today ❤) and this song was around. She’s gone now and I’m waiting to join her again one day. Thank you for the nice music.
When my Danish Grandmother came to vist us in BC this was the english song with a title she could read. on a jukebox. Brings back memories I only met her during that visit in 1972 and in1968 when the family went to Denmark - I ws 6 years old in 68
Always incredible Love their music
Lol - Ive watched this abunch of times and just noticed his violin broke near the begining!
Songs like this one hit wonder made the '70s fun!
A decade like no other
They had more hits, also solo afterwards. “I see a star” e.g. was the Dutch entry to Eurovision, ending third place in the same year Abba won, but became a small hit anyway.
@Keith Kristi That was me too. Still love Abba though.
I heard a cover of this on a Tejano radio station yesterday (in Spanish). Forgot to look up the few English lyics I could
remember when I got home yesterday. This morning I couldn't remember anything except that the song had a lot of
"na na na na"s in it. Thought I would never know what song it was (too many other songs with "na na na na" in them).
But, tonight, "How do you do? na na" popped in to my mind out of nowhere.
Use to listen to this when I was young loved it
두 사람엄청나게 러블리 하다 파워풀 하고 아름다운 목소리❤❤
I completely forgot about this song until it came up in a FB post a little while ago. A happy, care free simple song and video just like those times were as teenagers when it was a hit!!
