I'm jealous of the amount of options the Chinese market has when it's about EVs. Europe is lacking. I don't like anything from Mercedes, Audi or BMW for that matter.
actually its not just EVs... pretty much every ICE car model can be found in China too, and in a lower price nowadays, except for some retro cars.

@@GlitterGuru what kinds of fun engines do you mean? as far as I know, mass product cars are all can be legally imported and road legal. but the higher displacement, the higher tariff. so passenger vehicles with 3.0 or above engines are likely much expensive than in original country.
The competition is so intense that some absolutely amazing cars such as Xpeng G6, GAC Hyper GT, Voyah Lightchaser IM L6, Zeekr 007, Avatar 11 are struggling to attract sales in China. Now these brands are going abroad

Nio has done it, I think Onvo L60 will sell with flying color and competition in China EV market will be getting so intense like never before.

Why do you think that is the case? Here in Ontario utilizing car theft as a mean of boosting local car sales figure is literally an unspoken, off the book, underlying strategy which politicians and authorities are saying nothing about yet constantly trying to do. Nobody steals EV, thus the lobbyists from traditional auto makers (I am not going to name which ones, I am sure you already know) will make sure that affordable and decent EVs will not eat away their profits. Otherwise, how can you explain why a multi billion dollar corporation cannot figure out how to not produce a car that’s easily stealable in under 2 minutes in Canada - a nation where competent education entities are reasonably available. I am not even talking about key fishing kind and all that, with some brand all you need is a laptop, a plug from the front wheel arch and 120 seconds of ‘watchdoging’. Aside from that, if affordable and theft discoursing EVs are abundantly available, wouldn’t it be hard for private insurance companies to simply charge you more premium for certain models of certain brand next year just because there is a theft reported from your neighbour driving the same car? They can’t allow that to happen, can they?
So in short, the change you wish to see. Is going to make a lot of the current top 1% unhappy. You can probably figure out the rest.

Almost every electronic that operates on batteries have been swappable crazy that this is one of the only brands that decided it was a good idea
Most EV brands in China think it's a good idea, and have signed an agreement with NIO. Even the petrol co, power co, and governments have agreed it's a good idea, so will happen sooner or later. Probably sooner because the Chinese don't muck around.

Great video about a car with great potential. I have driven a Nio ES6 and I was really impressed. If this new Onvo brand will be as impressive, and if it will be affordable, I think that it may finally become popular in Europe. If this ever comes here to The Netherlands, I expect it to be somewhere around 40000 euros, which is just at the same level as the Tesla Model 3. The current Nio offerings are relatively expensive here, I hope that this Onvo will do better.

ONVO's battery swap stations can share NIO's third and fourth-generation swap stations, and other brands' shared swap stations will also become available in the future. NIO has also been continuously building new swap stations, with plans to add 1,000 more this year.

30k? I they were available in the US then I would buy one, the 455hp option. Thanks to Joe Biden, they won't be available in the US. His philosophy of free enterprise is if you can't beat them, block them from entering your market. In ten years, battery swap stations will be all over China, as common as petrol stations are in the US, while the US will have none. In a decade, China will be 95% EVs on the roads, while the US will be stuck at 15%. Nio will be a major brand in China and Europe, Tesla will be betamax.

It looks almost like the Xpeng G6, if the prices are close , buyers may look at the Byd sealion 07 as well.. more options is always a plus.
BYD sealion cannot battery swap. Onvo can used 60kwh for daily commuting for lower usage price. Then swap to 1000km range when going for weekend road trip. This is something BYD sealion cannot match Onvo. Even u dont want battery swap, 900v super fast charge are more than enough.

Thanks for the video. Love this design and love the fact that it's super efficient with it. Glad they catered to tall people who might need to sit at the back. Too many ev over do it with a slopping roof that's completely impractical and throws the design off. This is a coherent design from front to back. Would love to see this in the UK.
China is the new japan of automotive industry. Finally we can get premium cars for middle class and not overpriced garbage from Europe

its so interesting, turning radius, i wouldn't expect something that everyone seem to forget about be actually taken care of by chinese.
In europe it seems Volkswagen is the only one that cares about it, I had Model Y for a test drive , lack of front wheels angle really shows, it feels like a boat on a crowded parking lot :( Model Y still on my top list of things but chinese indeed provide just better cars overall, the only problem is that claims are hard to be trusted until tested. Tesla been tested in and out by everyone and their mother :)

to own this car for 23-24k USD + BaaS in the west with a sufficient battery swapping network would be living the dream. I do not think the news articles explaining the updated cost of BaaS do a good job at all.. it says 728 RMB per month but what about the cost of electricity? If its only 728 per month for 75KW then this is an extreme value for all taxi drivers in China.

I'd be interested to see if this car riding on the new platform gets anything close to its efficiency claims, because current NIO models are usually some of the least efficient cars in their respective segments.
Listened to a so called professional give advice on why people should stay away from nio stock despite the ONVO. Then I went and bought dome nio shares. Can't beat a man with such drive and vision as the nio ceo. Now if it was lucid or canoe I would heed.

Of all the EV brands including Tesla, NIO is the only brand that has been of any interest to me. I just don't like the structural battery concept. Swap-able batteries seems like a better way. Especially as the energy density of batteries increases, batteries get smaller, and the battery swapping systems mature. This L60 looks really nice. I hope it does well for NIO.
BYD has swappable batteries with cell to body tech for their commercial trucks...so both are possible

Tesla is in a bad position! Elon did great with bringing EVs to light. However, he never did RnD for infrastructure. He took quick profits from taxpayers! He's never updated his models. Superchargers degrade battery's. He plays around in space wasting money. He played in the dirt wasting money. He wasted money on bullet proof glass. He's done all this while his cars were state of the art. Now they are not! China has far surpassed him in every aspect. Robotaxi won't be a monopoly for Elon. The cyber truck and cyber truck toy are a flop. All the while Elon continues to waste money on other adventures. Now he's been denied his 56billion pay package. His business model is not doing well. This year may bankrupt the company because of all this. Did I include federal wire fraud investigation. How about at least 200 different lawsuits. Protests and vandalism has been the most recent!!!! Yet Wallstreet and Ron Baron continue to pump that BS stock!!!!!!!!!!

Yes in China prices are quoted as inclusive of VATs. May not include other levies e.g. plates, delivery, etc.

Becos investor trust William Li long term vision and is willing to back Nio up. Nio just cross their 500,000 EV production mark. You shall put more concern on other smaller EV brand.
They'll be profitable faster than Tesla was. The 7th auto manufacturer joined their swap network today. We should see many exciting swappable models in a year or two .

This car basically F**ks everyone who bought a Nio. It's more practical, more efficient, charges faster, has battery swap AND it's WAY cheaper. Why would you pay double for a Nio? For the Lidar, or a slightly better interior?
As of now NOP+ isn't even that great. Yes, THEOCRATICALLY, Nio cars have way more processing power and more advanced technology than Tesla's. But Tesla has so much data from roads all over the world and had been working their algorithms for much longer, thus still being the number one in autonomous driving by miles.
Nio is definitely catching up in China. But in the EU? USA? They barely sold any cars in the EU and NOP+ isn't working that well yet.
I still have faith in this company in the long run.

The EU is blocking the progress of EV in Europe with high tarrifs and taxes. MG finally get into the Poland, got good comments in the market and in june BYD will officially enter the polish market, but with no seagull. Also there is no information will blade V2 battery be in these cars now, or they will be in next gen cars, next year. Maybe nio need that lower hanging fruit to build more stations in china and europe? Ther eare no NIO stations and dealership in Poland.
We as a citizens need to make REAL methotd to go green - open our market for cheaper chinese EVs, build clean nuclear, wind and solar power and charging infrastructure.
Nio has dual motor, massage seat, lidar, more powerful chip, Nomi , more superior quality. It still worth paying for Nio.

You should because it's very well positioned and will sell loads of Nios and Onvo and Firefly in the future!!!! Most importantly is the business model! We are lightyears ahead of Tesla!!!!!!!
