Nice review, I’ve driven the NioEL6 for the last year (fantastic vehicle) and earlier today I notice ONVO have opened a store in my local Beijing mall. I spent 15 minutes looking at the L60 and have to say I was impressed, better value for money than the model Y (which I considered buying before I went for the ES6). On my drive home from the mall I followed a brand new (unregistered) model Y and at the traffic lights I could see that panel gap on the tailgate differed significantly between left and right side (~10mm v ~6mm) if it was my car I would have rejected it.
I looked at a Model Y back in 2020, I couldn’t do it. It didn’t make sense to me, the price for the car with all the mismatched paint on bumper and body, misaligned panels, huge panel gaps, harsh ride, missing physical controls and interior parts not assembled properly (could put your hand in the liner that was not flush with the roof on one side and feel the wires inside). Checked others on the lot and they all had similar issues, even the just delivered cars that came off the truck. The Model S was the same, I was shocked people accepted this. I wouldn’t call Tesla the gold standard, they are improving but, it’s a rip off to de-content the cars and charge more for them. I love this car. It’s a great blend of the Model Y, Polestar 4, and even the BMW X4. However, in France, the main issues will likely be the price and the driver assistance system. EVs built without battery swap capability are obsolete as soon as they roll off the assembly line. The battery technology is changing to fast to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a battery that will be obsolete in 4 to 5 years.
Battery swap is a good way to amortize the cost of the battery if you plan on changing your vehicle every 4-5 years. He’s the main reason to not buy a Tesla. Ever. But anyways, could you do another test this time comparing an Onvo L60 against an XPENG G6?
could you expand your coverage to car industry in general. Of particular interest on car design studio etc. Why are they all LOOK A LIKE even in a competitive market? Why the ugly grille vents are still around? Why the very limited rear view still exist AFTER so many years in the market, arent the studio reacting to consumer feedback? Car companies are going bankrupt but there is no divergence.....
Nio L60 has regen, reclining back seats, leg support, navigation in the windshield, battery swap, more efficient, better look, and Tesla has none of those.
I think it's premature to say Onvo is optimized for CLTC cycle, and Tesla is optimized for EPA cycle. Electrical motors have high efficiency at different RPMs, and manufacturers have to consider real world use scenarios, not just test cycles, it's unlikely for ONVO to optimize for low speed driving, as a lot of people will drive it on highways and evaluate its consumption. Another factor affecting high speed energy consumption is that the underbody of Onvo L60 is not as streamlined as Tesla as it has to support swap-able battery, and hence more drag.
Actually, interior in Teslas, no matter which model - is cheap. Really cheap. Onvo is more or less the same, BUT Onvo has HUD - a big +. And one more thing moment - resale value - is higher in Onvo because the battery has be replaced for new one in NIO automatic replacement station. That's why any Tesla has actually no resale value due to lack of battery replacement. Onvo trumps Tesla and wins decisively this comparison.
All Tesla has now in China is its brand name. Almost every other dimension has now been surpassed by Chinese EVs in the same price range, like comfort, self-driving, infotainment, voice control, utility, turning radius, material, interior design, acceleration, charging speed, etc. The removal of the turning stalks only made things worse for Tesla.

Wow, the Onvo is awesome. Why'd anyone in China buy a Tesla now.
特斯拉一直在降价!现在还有5年免息!以及很多马斯克的粉丝。
@@maomaoya9527correct. It's the cult of personality. Same here in the USA.
“gentle" got me brust in tears
Just Battery swap ONVO wins the game no doubt!!! 5years of driving TSLA value depreciate much much more than ONVO
CLTC . Sorry i had to laugh. Because china established a test that is even worse than the WLTP rating.
Nio L60 has regen, reclining back seats, leg support, navigation in the windshield, battery swap, more efficient, better look,
and Tesla has none of those.
Local VS Global
Hope not just a static one 🙏
Now do a crash test
Can you comment on why you think that Tesla won't be able to offer the new FSD in China next year?
Actually, interior in Teslas, no matter which model - is cheap. Really cheap. Onvo is more or less the same, BUT Onvo has HUD - a big +.
And one more thing moment - resale value - is higher in Onvo because the battery has be replaced for new one in NIO automatic replacement station. That's why any Tesla has actually no resale value due to lack of battery replacement.
Onvo trumps Tesla and wins decisively this comparison.
I agreed completely Tesla is NOT A LUXURY brand Nio are without a doubt......
What about the weight of these two cars??
All Tesla has now in China is its brand name. Almost every other dimension has now been surpassed by Chinese EVs in the same price range, like comfort, self-driving, infotainment, voice control, utility, turning radius, material, interior design, acceleration, charging speed, etc. The removal of the turning stalks only made things worse for Tesla.
Onvo is better
Chinese just needs to be patriotic. Buy local
