  • On this episode of The Fab Forums I wanted to go a little more in detail on how to use an english wheel. I also wanted to keep the instruction as simple as possible. Hope that was simple but informative.

    Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I am a maker that produces Custom Automotive Fabrication content of all forms for you. Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis.
    Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel.
    I have built several Chevy trucks on this channel. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I currently have named the Black Pearl.
    I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horse power mark to the tires on this particular build.
    Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod.
    I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos.
    Check out my playlist to see some or all of these builds.

    Love your videos, I'm in process of making my own English wheel as I need to make a few panels. The main one is the rear deck that is about 5ft long by 4 ft wide which I need just a slight contour on of about 1 cm side to side but the length is far more contoured, any ideas on how to go about making this, Cheers, jeff.

  • @yoesomite2199

    what happens if you over stretch the area, how do you shrink it back down ?
    Also , are there any tricks to holding a larger panel like a door skin if you don't have someone to help? ie can you use an extension table to support the metal on the on the side ?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      there are ways to shrink but it isnt easy...best advice is to just take it slow

    If your trying to ball on a budget the harbor freight central machinery English wheel isn't bad. But he did do some gussets on it which made it better. I made a few fenders with it. My dads made alot of stuff with it. Think he gave $250 for it with a coupon.

    Great video. Quick question that I’m sure you already answered somewhere. Are the goose headers just normal stock replacement shorties that you turned around and swapped sides?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they are....they are some stainless shorties that I just welded some v bands too.
      I am actually using the same ones on the Bibbster as well

      Good too know thanks. I have a blow through procharger 4 eyed fox that I’m board with and thinking of twin turbos since I have QT carb, regulator, fuel pump, ignition, and intercooler already.
      I have a set of stainless shorty equal length headers that I was thinking of using
      Love your videos and your inspirational quotes.

      its rendered all the way to 1080...youtube just starts them at the bottom. So you watch shortly after I post you only get the low res. I would bet if you watched it now 1080 would be available.
