Alfa-Romeo Romeo2: Metal shaping

Fabrication du coin inférieur arrière gauche d'un Alfa-Romeo Romeo2 de 1960.
Tout d'abord un gros rétreint au maillet sur un tronc creux (ça à l'air très ancestral, mais c'est vraiment très efficace), puis planage à la roue anglaise.
Soudure TIG.

Brilliant.. I was doing the same in the past in India... the two main differences were - 1) we used oxy-acetelene gas to weld which caused too much distortion due to extreme heat so had to work hard on the metal to get in the right shape...
(mig did not exist!!! ) 2) English wheel was and is non existent - nobody knows about it !!! so had to use hammer and dollies to create the required shape....

Well done , a realistic job , one that has the right amount of detail to make a great job and one that you could actually charge out to a '' normal'' customer without it turning into a 2000 hour restoration project on a 10k car.

J'ai eu a faire les coins comme ça aussi sur mon J9, et bien quant on sais pas trop comment faire, on improvise on test, c'est long mais on y arrive.
Ce n'est pas mon métier mais a chaque fois que je fais des pièces un peu compliqué dans mes vidéos ça impressionne, même si ce n'est pas forcement fait dans les règles de l'art comme toi.
Je ne maitrise pas trop la roue anglaise, la mienne est un truc chinois qui se déforme plus quelle ce forme. 🤣 Faudrait que je la refasse mieux. Par contre la moulureuse, j'ai la même que j'ai bien amélioré et même motorisé (a voir sur ma chaine)

hi, thanks for posting the video. can you please explain the difference between the plastic & wooden teardrop mallet - why did you switch to using the wooden mallet then return to using the plastic mallet to shrink the tucks?

It's just about the shape, not the material: my plastic mallet has got a sharper end wich is better suited to make a shrinking.
