Sounds like someone is holding on to GME stock.

I clicked on this video to see if it was a joke. I’m lucky to see two or three 360 games and a Wii game in store.

You have to ask if they have anything behind the counter. They don’t keep them out in my store. Behind the counter and in the display case

@@screwhead6274 I have much better luck at the local retro stores. Gamestop usually has next to nothing. Even their selection of current gen and Switch games usually isn't very good.

I love to support small stores. I try to split up my business between brick and mortar, eBay sellers, and Gamestop. I’ll be honest though, you’re right about Gamestop having some solid deals. They will spell serious trouble for Mom and Pops if they really ramp up retro games. I’ve already been noticing some bangers listed online. I do think that the individual stores are hit and miss for all games. Not sure what they’d have to do to address that.

As someone who has worked at mom-and-pop Shops throughout my life I'd rather have GameStop around thab out of the game. If GameStop goes then the whole video game retail Market goes with it. The more people have access to Retro games the higher the likelihood someone will trade them into our store. We know all the GameStop employees around our area and they send people to our store because they don't carry retro systems or accessories. They only take a select few retro games as well. They send what they turn away out to us Mom and pop stores. It isn't just GameStop we support but rival video game stores as well. The digital future is coming for us all and we are all preparing to survive past it. Get ready for physical video games to increase in price drastically in an all digital future. Becoming a boutique high-end business is the only way we could afford to keep doing it.

GameStop's system of how they do trade-ins and online sales make it an absolute joke to deal with them for the average person. They have really good prices on some games, but because of how low their offers on trade-ins are compared to other potential buyers, they don't get very good consistent inventory.

I love GameStop I do all my preordering there! It’s way easier to drop 10-20 on a preorder than pay 70+ all at once

Physical format for current Gen consoles is dying in retail stores so in turn that will kill the preowned market for those games. If Game Stop wants to survive whats going on in gaming right now the move to a retro games model would be the best move for them.

And it’s now 25 for a pro membership a yr plus tax so 28 out the door
And if you want the physical Game Informer magazine that’s another 20 bucks a year or free if you go the digital route!

I hope Gamestop can improve some of their policies such as offering a bit more for trade-ins and adding a feature online that tells you if the game is loose or in original case. Another thing they should do is consolidate. There's just too many stores which spreads their inventory thin for the average customer to browse. Also, Thor on DS is hands down a better title than the PS3 version.

Now do a video on why Gamestop is disadvantaged as a retro game seller. Returns are a royal pain. If you can’t ship back because the item crosses the value threshold for online returns you have to go into a store and pray the associate can actually process a return while fighting for time with other customers. Buyers often receive fake copies or copies in horrible or unplayable condition. For online orders there is no way to know the condition until the item is received. You may get a disc only or it may be complete - impossible to know. You can be in the store when a batch of quality retro titles just got traded in and GameStop might refuse to sell them to you. Their retro catalog in the system is very limited. No free shipping unless you spend a lot. GameStop could be an advantaged retro seller but they are so horribly run the actual experience keeps resellers in business.

I don’t like GameStop , all the games are nasty , I’ve never EVER seen anything online or in store that is remotely retro . I’d rather stick to eBay , there is no way GameStop has better deals , game stop points don’t count lol, you get those by spending money with them

I mean, a large company will always be able to sell something better than one guy, but at least where I live they don't sell used 'retro' (I mean, even 360 games, or xbox one games that are more than a few years old) in physical stores. I do guess they sell retro games online, I haven't looked. Economies of scale mean that they will always be better at that. But I live near a few good retro game stores, one "mom and pop" such place which has a lot of cool stuff and another, which I will not name because it reveals where I live, which seems to have a nationwide distribution system, so they might be able to keep up with gamestop. And I would just rather support them, honestly.
I do, however, tend to buy new games through gamestop, partially because I prefer having the physical disc (not that it matters at this point) and it is just essentially a tradition for me at this point to go to gamestop. Of course, I don't buy a lot of new games nowadays.
