Sadly, trigger doublers don't actually work with Pantlaza.

It's an ETB. The restriction is simply a once-per-turn restriction, not a once-per-ETB trigger.
In other words, for each ETB event, a MOM or Panharmonicon will double the ETB, but that ETB can't trigger for the rest of that turn.
@@gustavoportugal3763 Well, blinking Pantlaza would actually work to be fair (even if we didn't see it happen) since then that'd technically be a new permanent.

@@isaiahwelch8066 I'm not actually sure what you mean by this? But if you mean that trigger doublers get around "can only trigger once each turn", they don't cause trigger doublers say "that ability triggers an additional time". Though, Pantlaza doesn't actually say that, rather its ability triggers every time, but it's a "you may" ability, and the "you may" can only be used once per turn; thus, it would actually trigger twice with a Panharmonicon effect, but that wouldn't let you discover an additional time.
"Do this only once each turn." This includes copies of spells and abilities, so you can't get more than 1 discover with Pantlaza
True, I tho if you blink it it's technically a new permanent that hasnt seen the trigger before so it'll trigger again that way I'll believe.
@@MattTorres Correct. Also if you have more than one Pantlaza in play somehow (typically by making a nonlegendary copy of it): the restriction applies for each Pantlaza.
Actually the exact way a Once a turn effect works is this ability can only be used Once a Turn per card so copy Pantlaza are considered an entirely new card therefore they would trigger. I’ve run this scenario with Helm of the Host hundreds of times on hundreds of different once a turn creatures and each time they all trigger separately because they are not the same card. And panharmonicon and mother of machine make their own trigger so you do get triggers from them as well.
@@user-mf4lw9wy4e The formal definition (rules-wise) is in terms of what the rules consider a new _object_ instead of an existing one. A new permanent is always a new object (regardless of how it is created: a token, a permanent spell resolving, etc.), and an object changing zones is always considered a new object as well.
As for retriggering with Panharmonicon and the like, they don't work. They cause the trigger to trigger again, but since the trigger says "do this once each turn", you can't choose to do it again. If you've already chosen to discover for that particular Pantlaza, when another trigger for it resolves (e.g., a doubled-up trigger from Panharmonicon), you _must_ choose not to discover, since the trigger says that you can't discover again.

Heralds Horn works through Elesh Norn, naming is a replacement effect for entering (614.1c) not an ETB trigger
Right, the way to tell is that triggered abilities always start with "When" or "Whenever" not "As"
Yeah, the only way to prevent those from happening is making the permanent enter the battlefield with no abilities, which is hard. (But it can be done!)
I appreciate that you keep all of the banter in the show instead of condensing 45 min of play into a 10 min narrated summary like other channels. The four of you have genuine fun playing together, and that dynamic makes me come back episode after episode.
I was thinking initially dang this is the least evil Kinnan build I've seen - no Eldrazi, etc. Still strong.
Unless you are playing Kinnan with no nonland permanents that produce mana, he will always be disgustingly strong
The first commander deck I ever owned was the Markov Pregen deck. I’ve been juicing it up for years and it’s still one of my favorite decks. I knew who I was cheering for by the end of the intro 🥰
First no hate for CGBs error because its just a game and if everyone had fun that is what happened. But I think this is very funny because I have done this before misread a commander and proceeded to build around the misread. As revenge they made me play a deck I hate (enchantress too many triggers) the next game night. I still get crap for it.

Unfortunately not because the 1/1 was created on the Welcoming vampires cast. So it entered before Welcoming vampire is on the battlefield so it didn't trigger.

Elesh Norn didn't need to die for the Horn because it's not an ETB. It says "as it enters" not "when" or "whenever". Those are only what Elesh Norn cares about.

Shea with the " guess what ? it's a vampire mother**ckers! " was hilarious. Wanted to feel bad like that was super unlucky and not being able to play horn to find more because of MOM is brutal , but it's Edgar Markov so like i don't feel bad.
Yeaaah there is a reason why Kinnan is pretty much only cEDH these days… Even a derpy build has silly mana+card+damage advantage.
Does Shea have an updated Markov list? The link in the description is from 2 months ago so it doesn't contain LCI cards like Crossway Troublemakers.
Their is a gap in the video where it’s cbgs turn and Ben goes to respond and it cuts to Ben’s turn would have liked to see what happened your guys interaction is golden loved how they hyped up the ramp spells and stuff
As others are mentioning, Pantlaza does not work with doublers because "do this only once per turn" it will trigger a second trigger and then fail the condition to discover. Flicker is good and copies are good but doublers no.
Everything is possible if you can convince your opponents hard enough

I love elsh norn mother of machines. Even as a member of the 99 it is still so useful all the time. Shes never a bad card to drop as alot of decks run etbs of varying degrees.

Like, the fuck do you read Pantlaza and think you can double the triggers, its built specifically into the card to avoid ridiculous abuse.

That’s what proxies are for! Avery 5395 labels and their software and you can print a card or token you can’t get your hands on.
mana value for manavault is 1 not 3
I hate thief decks and avoid versing them or kill them off as soon as I can. The ability for a pirate to steal cards from the top every time they hit is beyond obnoxious and stupid.

"triggers only once each turn" and "do this only once each turn" are different things. you can double the Pantlaza trigger, but u can only use it 1 time per turn, except you have a copy of pantlaza on the board, then you can discover one, for each copy.

Not quite, the copying triggers doesn't work. But if you'd flicker or copy the commander it would cuz they count as new entities. (Helm of the host for example)
The trigger is doubled, but you can't choose to have it discover the second time because they're all bound to the same permanent's "do this once each turn" clause. The second trigger will resolve without doing anything.

Discover very clearly says Non-land and has nothing to do with permanents. Although discovering twice with a card that explicitly says do this only once per turn is pretty dumb.

Myriad is a weird ability that makes the token copies just appear on the field, but do not get an ETB off anything. And pantsloza can only discover once each turn, so this was a lot of rule breaking lmao
No, tokens do not just appear, they are created and do indeed trigger ETBs. But Pantlaza will indeed only discover once per turn.
But wouldn’t the 3 copies trigger themselves?
