@@Vondra666 that's what I needed to know. It's just as much of a nightmare as every other mic then? If it's not going to be easy for the majority to make it functional then I will not waste my time with it. anything that requires me to help someone troubleshoot their mic or causes them anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours and a learning curve, learning about user interfaces and the list goes on and on, it's not a reasonable answer for everyone's pencil tapping annoyance noise pollution but rather just another cascading redundant nightmare, and I can logical disaster and landfill fuel produced by this dumpster fire of a so-called civilized society with its religious belief in free market capitalism and that all that matters are the majority opinions, not facts.
How different is it plugged into an Xbox controller? A PDP or an elite controller with a headset adapter or without a headset adapter? now is that plugged into an Xbox or plugged into a PC?

@@badseedtech I was seriously considering buying an Xbox 360 default headset used if I can find one, they were 2.5 mm but reverse engineering or splicing might work, or adapters. They are very quiet mics but with disord that won't be a problem.
I have to different conceptualized, highly detailed gaming headset designs in mind from everything I've learned dealing with the failures of this entire industry of which are rampant to the point of a logistical epidemic.

Well, why are you buying an iPhone? You're telling the company that you're okay with them not using industry standards and forcing you to buy their specialty equipment of which is terroristic, coercive and abusive at the very least and you should boycott them for doing it. it's my first razer headset, and, it's just phenomenal for it's price range
is it identical to the USB version? i got a deal on it where i was able to get the USB one for like $20 so not only is it super cheap but my brother cant steal it as he is currently still on console

Wow cool review! But I read some reviews and it is mentioned that the hyper x cloud stinger is better than this? Is that true and will the kraken x beat the cloud stinger for quality? Btw your review is really informational!
From my research the singer's quality of sound is better but the kraken's mic is better so it depends on which one of those two you'd prefer taking a tiny hit on. For me the mic is way more important so since I don't really need a high quality sound because I mostly play rocket league and sound there isn't a big deal so for me the kraken is the choice.

I am the tampon of tech or a gaming Sherpas tampon. The majority's microphones, (specially for gaming) are truly a nightmare. I've been looking for something that just works, minimalistic but doesn't pick up every noise in the room, doesn't buzz, doesn't clack doesn't pick up your chair squeaking the list goes on and on.
When people seem to have their mic under control, unfortunately I can't take anybody's "word for it" bcz people's environments are different, their equipment is different, we just have to test it, thoroughly.
and I won't lie, you'll probably get sucked into the vortices of miscellaneous Joe dirt type stories because I've been doing chatroulette combined with multiplayer gaming for 15 years, almost every single day and man do I stories...

I'm not much of a tech reviewer but the past five years have been a hellish nightmare for me; I call it the hot mic apocalypse. I have auditory tactile synesthesia, (the most rare form of synesthesia) which simply put means that I feel sound physically. Noise pollution is has a very strange, physical sensation effect, on me.
Then there's the spectrum of autism for the tech industry to consider & it's really just a common courtesy issue run-of-the-mill empathy & common sense even.... (Example: If you get 4-8 people in a party chat & all of them are tapping a pencil whenever they speak and no matter who speaks?, I mean, wtf we supposed to do with that?) (On the side, to whomever it may concern, it is totally irrelevant that the noise pollution doesn't bother you personally, it is completely irrelevant that it doesn't bother the majority of the population and your ignorance of how many people that it does seriously harm is completely irrelevant)
The worst part of all... All of this means that neither "the human factor" or our ecosystem are being considered, nearly unilaterally as an industry standard within all corporations but most of all, tech.
(Another idea spark walleye I'm reaching out): podcast/interviewing you in regards to the cascading redundancy that can be attached to resource waste & an actual ecological disaster, from, basically, a lack of industry standards, of which includes dedicated QA/UI testers, some specialists that are well-versed with the biological, social science realms, physiology & Communications... Or, someone like me who knows headset tech failures to the point where I would be able to pinpoint within minutes what's wrong with every single device or prevent wasting our time if I can intervene during conceptualization, (ATM, just for gaming headsets but I am not a tampon and rather, I'm a Golden goose or a tampon that needs to be wrung out multiple times to get every drop of blood out of it)...
(More emphasis/background, as to how I'd be sending you viewer traffic & a lil insight into my redundant nightmare):
People like talking to me & they get mad at me or it's just too much trouble for them to type/text & then I do all the talking while they listen,... when I won't listen to their horrid mics.
(So I've started to use my streams to raise money to buy people mics. Even my mic requires mr. Miyagi level practice to achieve a somewhat acceptable level of sound quality nightmare)...
I already know that this Razer mic is probably better than a lot of other headset's have but it's going to work different with different combinations of tech & as thorough is your review is; it doesn't cover the variance needed, in regards to combinations of controllers on PC & on Xbox, generic &/or name brand? Headset adapter or no headset adapter?
See what I mean? (Likely, a lot of this is nothing you don't know already.)

The original 2010 Razer Carcharias headset is honestly still the best budget headset around in terms of sound and mic performance - it thumps every value headset out there including the Cooler Master Mh751 which has been pretty well received.

for future people seeing this, i got this early March and the headband has cracked twice, once my gf hugged me and it snapped in half after 5 months or so, second time i noticed minor cracks along the front of the headband which im guessing is why it snapped the first time
