I've been shopping and researching every single headset on the market. If they get this firmware stuff figured out, this will be my headset for the next couple of years. A headset with 50mm graphene drivers, simultaneous BT, a good mic, compatibility with Xbox, PS, PC and Mobile, great EQ settings, ANC and a premium build quality and being on the high end of sound quality.... doesn't exist right now. I've been considering the Nova Pro Wireless, and if it had better drivers/better sound quality, I'd own it right now. Maxwells would be great, but they don't have simultaneous BT and they aren't highly rated in FPS games. Stealth Pros are nice headsets but their battery life is below average and the controls are clunky and problematic and the mic is mid. A50x is rocking 40mm drivers, doesn't have any onboard BT (you can't take them away from the base station) and it has no ANC. If these firmware bugs get fixed, I'll buy these immediately.

This is incredibly detailed. I think you were really fair but the reality is that putting up such a price tag gets you compared to some headsets that REALLY have it figured out. Seems like an okay offering but nothing I’d ever feel comfortable going north of $300 for
If you had this full metal body in your hands and experience the manufacturing quality you would understand. It is insane. Is it necessary to go nuts on the manufacturing and build quality? No. But does it justify the price? Yes! Also Dongle + Bluetooth Headsets do cost more to begin with.
Im testing this Headset at the moment. Firstly thank you for the measurement. I went wild on the iCue EQ and I have to say I'm pretty happy with myself seeing the measurement afterwards. I find your review very fair and I mostly see the same points. I also encountered the extreme loudness bug on windows, but it doesn't always happen, kinda weird. I reinstalled CoD MW 2019 to check the location performance and my verdict with EQ and Dolby Atmos would be a bit more positive than yours but not far off. I feel like you have to give the ANC some time to get to a decent working point, the first moment I turned it on it was weird and I thought we have a different system. But give the ANC a few minutes and it does self-adjust I think. Still could have less noise in a quiet room. However very nice review great work!
Can’t believe they still haven’t fixed the comfort issues. I bought the virtuoso special edition after watching your first videos on them. You mentioned the comfort issue, but I didnt think it would be that bad. Got them, and when I tried them, the sound was good, but I literally couldn’t wear them for more than 15 minutes without incredible pain on both my ears. I solved that by getting aftermarket ear pads, but the bigger thicker pads, somehow caused issues for the cups that kept the pads on the headset and the small plastic tabs would break off constantly. I ended up tossing them in my closet and getting a pair a black shark pros. I don’t think I can ever buy another Corsair sound product again after that experience. Especially at the price point it was and still is.
Just got the Blackshark Pro but the audio quality just does not do it for me. As in the past I had the Virtuoso, followed by the Virtuoso SE, I guess I’m giving these a chance 😁
Same here. The only advantage with these units are when having a set of Corsair products, streamlining everything in 1 USB receiver. Other than that, I'd pick authentic high grade audio headphones.
@@ChubiPanda well the problem is a 300$ wireless head set sounds maybe similar to a 100$ wired one. That's why you can't hear more, it's just limited by then hardware. For an audible improvement you have to go up with wired headphones or IEMs.
no there the best sounding headphones I've ever had and im coming from the astro a50x razer kraken v4 pro wireless nova pro wireless audeze maxwell and these headphones blow them out of the water they been my every day driver . Good review. I've seen Corsair have had several issues with drivers ( I use corsair myself mostly ) and honestly I've had to avoid updating to 5.19.104 to avoid these problems. So definitely something they need to get their hands on or they will have more troubles from customers.
I currently have the XT BT version from 2018 or so, this looks nearly identical but has better build quality and a price hike of $120. As someone who’s used the virtuoso headphones a lot, the audio level drops that you mentioned towards the end of the video, I don’t think that’s a software bug. If you have the usbc connected to it, it will use that to transmit audio rather than wireless, as such it becomes significantly louder and clearer. It missing the 3.5mm would have been a deal breaker for me several years ago, but I’ve gotten so used to the convenience, that I think at this point I prefer wireless. With the eq bug, I think it’s related to atmos, I’m 90% sure it just overrides the default because it just sounds way different with atmos enabled.
I just got this headset and cant find much online about the volume issues. I'm glad you addressed it. With Dolby enabled I have volume at 100 and it sounds like static with cup and string in games. What's crazy is that is the only way to have surround sound enabled. With Dolby off and in stereo mode it is great. Every time I try to update firmware in Icue it fails to update. I'm sure it will be great once they work out the bugs, but releasing a broken product just sucks. It is definitely very heavy and the padding is lacking for long sessions. CLEAN UP YOUR MESS CORSAIR!

Despite mainly using Arya Organics. I'm looking for wireless cans to use at my desk just for casual gaming... and those adjustment rings, microphone, and decent ANC kind of sold me on them.
@@waterkey2712 which one is? I have not purchased the virtuoso max and I have not purchased the delta 2. hello, can you use this headset for work in a calling center? is the noise removal for the mic good enough so that you won't hear people that sit close next to you?
Ive had my Nova Pro Wireless for about 2 years now and Im ready for something new and fresh butttt nothing really is giving me a reason to switch yet. The Razer Kraken 4.0 with Haptics loomed cool but the base station doesn't have a hot swap battery and Ive come to live that feature so much. Arctis did a damn good job with those headphones
I honestly think the only upgrade path from a Nova Pro Wireless is the Maxwell for the sound quality. I have an Arctis Nova 7 which is a lot like the Pro but without some of the extra stuff like the base station and the ANC, and I love everything about it. The simultaneous Bluetooth feature has me completely sold on never buying a headset that doesn't have it.
Better sound quality is Maxwell, better competitiveness is Turtle beach. If you want both you need to give up wireless and move to separate headphone and microphone.
I agree with the two comments, the Audeze Maxwell is the endgame headset right now. The sound is incredible, it’s comfortable, and the mic sounds great. A lot of reviews say it’s heavy but I didn’t notice it at all and I have a smaller head where most headsets begin to hurt the top of my head. Don’t let the weight deter you, this headset is amazing. Another great wired option is the PC38x.I have the nova pro wireless, all virtuosos, arctic pro wireless, all the flagships and the Maxwell is king. Also, the battery is INSANE.
Wireless is always compremised in terms of microphone quality (unless for the mmx200 for some reason). That's why wireless headsets should come with a wired mode, like the old HS80, you plug that sucker in and you have a mic that you can even use for voice overs!
I don't even know why I'm watching this as I have the Hifiman HE1000SE on my head xD but this was still a very informative video! Its a shame "gaming" peripheral companies continue to cater to the "gamer" bs like RGB and all these crazy shapes and such.
Is Dolby Atmos such a big difference in sound quality ? cuz i bought the audeze but ps version and i was thinking of buying the license of dolby to get the sound upgrade if its worth
0:10 after I heard this I heard a gunshot that hit my chest. I know I won't get these as I have the previous model as my current backup. Just here to support 💪🏾💪🏾
i have a question what to choose between the 540hz asus vs the 400hz xl2566x+ i dont hit 540 hz but for me vertical viewing angle is important and the price of them is the same for me which to get?
Corsair mic on steel series would be endgame it drives me crazy they won’t make an effort to have an acceptable mic on the novas. I gave up trying to eq mine to not sound like hot trash and just went the iem + xlr mic route.
They just need to make a modern day Turtle Beach elite 800. Best headset ever as far as functionality and features. Especially with audio in to the base not just a dongle.
If you do not use Dolby Atmos or third party EQ settings, you cannot EQ The Virtuoso Max right now with DTS:X Headphones. Fair warning I think you have to save the ICUE eq to it and THEN switch to DTS headphone X but its kinda annoying.
Corsair has released a new Virtuoso it seems like every 6 months. I've learned to stay FAR away from "gaming" headsets. Beyer Dynamics is the way and they just came out with a new 1770 Pro which is miles better in build quality, sound quality, and just everything minus features but that's not the point of a professional pair of headphones. Admittedly I haven't had experience with Corsair headphones like I have Razer, Logitech, HyperX, and a few others. I've learned they all suck but this headset does seem pretty nice, just not for $329, maybe $200 max. Would love to give Corsair the benefit of the doubt but I've been wronged so much it's never worth buying "gaming" headsets
@waterkey2712 sounds quality is pretty darn good, better than the Xt's. There are a few bugs with the volume, but hopefully, this will be fixed with a firmware update. I like them. I was pretty immersed playing last night.
@waterkey2712 the volume, if you crank up all the way and turn it back down, it stays at the same level, but if you adjust a couple of times, the volume will get loud again. It's weird.
Been looking for something that mixes 2.4GHz and Bluetooth but every product seem to have something I don't like. I guess the best solution is still just to have a proper stand-alone mixer. :(
I own the previous flagship headset the XT’s. And they are just MEH. Very mid, very average, very much looking forward to replacing them with the stealth pros. I very much doubt these max version will sell me but I’ll give this video a try 👍

hello, can you use this headset for work in a calling center? is the noise removal for the mic good enough so that you won't hear people that sit close next to you?
My fav headset is the Meze Elite Tungsten, been using it for half a year now, its awesome for 4000$ still
Does anyone know if these have a built in microphone when not using the detachable one??
I have these and they don’t, you have to have the microphone plugged in
@ thank you!
Does it beats the Audeze Maxwell ?
@@houssamalucad753recommendations?
Please tell me he just made up that OnlyFans request. I’m just going to live life with that assumption for my sanity’s sake.
Lmao they know who they are
I think this mic is surprisingly good
Not even close to A50(X)
@@flex3135 haven't listened to that one yet. I only had the A40 for a while back in the days
Listening this on my Virtuoso SE. The only thing i can say is that Corsair Virtuosos Mic >>>>>>>
Thanks for the review. Woof for the algorithm.
I'm optimistic for this set when the custom pads come out.
I wish they'd just make the Virtuoso Pro wireless. I love an open back headset, but hate wires everywhere in my setup.
Like the video, like the beard game, never shave 👊
Nice beard brother!
Have you not done the rog delta 2
If you do not use Dolby Atmos or third party EQ settings, you cannot EQ The Virtuoso Max right now with DTS:X Headphones. Fair warning
I think you have to save the ICUE eq to it and THEN switch to DTS headphone X but its kinda annoying.
dam I was rly thinkin bout getting these, it seems I should just get the maxwells
Curious if any of the bugs mentioned have been worked out yet? anyone know?
Rather than those headsets, I prefer a proper headphone like the 560s and attach a mic from ModMic
Does eq settings save to headset to use on console?
Ur on fire dude!
So no game chat mix volume adjustability for ps5 on the actual headset?
Correct. Its rumored that the Xbox features this, but wasn’t included on the PS5 version
The volume bug is so annoying. But I find that if you turn off the headset and then turn it back on it gets fixed.
Is it better then Logitech pro x 2?
Atmos in COD with R70x? Guess I'll have to try...
I tried those cloth or fabric covers and it’s so scratchy… didn’t they like them.
That charing + still should be connected via 2.4 wireless is a let down. 🙂↕️
I wonder how they perform against their little brother the XT variant
good to add comprasion with blackshark v2 pro 2023 with any headset now, mic ofc
Are the mics interchangeable with the old series
No, the new microphone is usb c , the old one not
Does it have onboard memory to save your audio eq
One slot, yes.
I would like to buy this headset, but the only reason I won’t purchase it is because it doesn’t have game to chat volume for the PS five
Guess we'll hang on with the dt770 forever 😅
Picking up a pair todayx im worried about that random volume drop.
How is the sound quality?
@waterkey2712 sounds quality is pretty darn good, better than the Xt's. There are a few bugs with the volume, but hopefully, this will be fixed with a firmware update. I like them. I was pretty immersed playing last night.
@waterkey2712 the volume, if you crank up all the way and turn it back down, it stays at the same level, but if you adjust a couple of times, the volume will get loud again. It's weird.
@@Motoxlight i was searching for a headset for nearly 1 month now and this popped up. Would you say it is better than arctis 5 sound quality wise?
@@Motoxlight hmm. I hope corsair will fix this issue. Otherwise if they dont fix it i dont know what to buy.
Been looking for something that mixes 2.4GHz and Bluetooth but every product seem to have something I don't like. I guess the best solution is still just to have a proper stand-alone mixer. :(
thanks for telling me about ur only fans! imma go sign up right now!
I own the previous flagship headset the XT’s. And they are just MEH. Very mid, very average, very much looking forward to replacing them with the stealth pros. I very much doubt these max version will sell me but I’ll give this video a try 👍
Does anyone know if it supports Slipstream? That’s kind of a dealbreaker and I can't tell from the website 😂
So thats the weird thing….there is ZERO slipstream branding anywhere on the box or the press kit. But why would they not?
Ive had my senheiser 6xx for years, i cannot see myself getting any other headphones
BadSeed ASMR when
The price tag is an immediate no to me. There's no way Corsair is doing better than Audeze
I think this mic sounds worse than the first Virtuoso, i hope they can somehow get more out of it via updates
No chat/Game balance? No flip to mute mic? No charging dock? Still nothing beats the Astro A50/x for me.
Me with the apple air pods max. Damn It’s more than twice the weight of that.
so... still wired for me. sens6xx and ZenDac V2.
It is one of those products where it is fine good even but it is just so expensive
what's the cat's name
I'm gonna ride out my SE model a lot longer if the price of the new version is DOUBLE 😂
Air purifier question. Does that actually work on cat hair? I have an incredibly fluffy cat who loves to lay in my computer room.
Yep makes a big difference. I have to vacuum the filters out like once every 3 weeks.
Honestly a 150$ headset here, their profit margin must be insane on this headset
most certainly
wouldn't surprise me if manufacturing cost is less than like 40 bucks
