The industry needs more videos like this. Nicely done. Honestly I'm happy even at the 3 month mark or if a member of the team takes it home instead of you personally racking up the hours and then returns it for you to do another mini-review to see how it held up.

Ty for this coverage, I think it's very important to know these products last because not everyone thinks a 40-100$ is "budget", so if they do pull the trigger it's a shame if it breaks in less than s year.

    • @ethanstechworld207

Yeah, for me I bought the Hyper x cloud alpha headset a few years ago which is a bit more expensive than the razer. Though I do see them on sale pretty often. But it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It is without a doubt worth the extra $25-30. Its in a whole other stratosphere of pretty much every category compared to the razer headset. Actually razer headsets in general. At least in that price range of under 100.

Honestly, my Blackshark V2 is honestly in perfect shape after 8 months now.
But there is one problem with all the Blackshark line-up, when the volume knob is at 50%...the left earcup is a bit quiet while the right earcup is louder...but when the volume knob is at 80-90%...both earcup sound equal.
    It's a bit annoying...

@@LawAbidingSociopath69 I had an issue with sound being louder in the left ear than the right, but after troubleshooting and ordering an exchange (and going through a different brand of headphones) and still having the problem, I figured out it was a problem with my PC. Once that was sorted out, my newest pair had no problems with my PC (afaik) - so where the actual headset's concerned, I'm still satisfied, lol. Something worth mentioning is that the microphone has two sides and there's holes on both sides so it's not easy to know which one you're supposed to talk into but
there's a microphone symbol on one of the sides so if people don't hear you or it's not picking up your voice then take off the filter and make sure it's the right way 👍

I bought these ones less than a month ago.
The main things I noticed so far were:
-7.1 surround sound is hit or miss. In some games it sounds good, whereas others you just get this horrible bass boost of different sounds, and turning it off makes the sound tinny at low volume. I would love to have an EQ to fix this, so if anyone knows please let me know.
-Wearing them on my neck for a prolonged time feels odd.... There are a few contact points on the back of my head and the sides of my neck which make it a bit uncomfortable.
-The microphone is, as you mentioned, begging to get loose. Had Razer designed a retractable or removable mic this probably would've been much better. To its defense though, the mic levels are quite good, if not a bit saturated with my voice, compared to the ones I had before (GXT 363).
-I haven't had issues with the splitter, though I'm hoping Razer sells replacement cables.

Definitely need more videos like this. Lots of products work well for like 3 months then issues start popping up. That said, I actually did buy the V2 after watching and reading several reviews. My only real issue 4 months later is that my monitors will not sleep with the USB soundcard plugged in so I have to just turn them off myself. I haven't found a way to fix this, though randomly for about 2 weeks it did let the monitors sleep. Other than that they're working well for and what I paid I'm still content with them. My last headset was the Logitech G430 and the Blackshark V2 has been leagues better so far for not much more cost.

Thank you for the follow up, two of my children got a set of these for xmas. They're 10 so they tend to abuse things a little more than a teen or adult would, however the only issue present would be the mic not holding memory. I think for $59 razer knocked it out of the park on this headset, and people might be complaining a little too much for the price point. Now these issues on the v2pro i would say is unacceptable.

Really appreciate this. I bought this headset after hearing you compare it's microphone in the PC38X video and I was honestly shocked at the quality. My copy has a firm connection at the splitter and the earcup pads don't show any give but we'll see how it holds up. The sliding adjustment is also firm out of the box. For $44 I'm very content as I would have expected to need to pay somewhere around double for effectively the same quality. Thanks again for this video and for including all of the comparisons in your other headphone videos as well as the roundups!

Hey Dmitry, I own the Blackshark v2. I've had it since September/October and originally was going to get the v2x after seeing your video on it, but best buy was out of them at the time so I ended up with the v2. Anyhoots I too am surprised at how long the material is holding up compared to the original Blackshark I owned from like 2 years ago? The mic for me has yet to lose its positional memory but then again there are times when I disconnect the mic when I'm not using it. The sound on mine is pretty strong going still and have yet to notice any sound or bass loss. All in all I've enjoyed it and for me the mic is way better than the original blackshark, only thing i noticed since owning these was the built in mute button as I was that a lot in discord or when playing on the ps4, speaking of the volume on console seems pretty well and I rarely have to use the nob on the headset unless it's needed.
But yeah just wanted to share my experience with the Blackshark v2 and that the long term type reviews are always nice to see, and will sometimes be a factor when buying something, especially computer related

It is a very good headseat budjet wise... but if you are looking for headsets that has sound quality : its GOOD... but once you experienced better sound from higher end headsets, it is VERY hard to accept this one... This one wont cut i t at all. I feel this review is totally fair : for the budget price for what you actually get those are cheap and sound good... Then if you want sound quality... you definitly have to spend on better quality headsets.

I think I'm going to give the V2 X a shot, since they're currently $40 on Amazon. My current Turtle Beach Ear Force X11 is many years old, and needs replacing.
I have always preferred game audio through speakers, not a headset, so my main use for this is going to be the mic, to talk to my friends on Discord or the Xbox app on my PC or phone. In fact, I tend to just rest my headset around my neck and speak through the mic without even plugging in the incoming audio cable. As long as the mic quality stays solid for a long time, this will be very worthwhile for me. I'll probably try to play some games with the headset, like War Thunder or something, just to see if the audio difference really helps or hinders me.
After watching your original review and this, I think it'll be my best choice. If it turns out it doesn't work so well in six months to a year from now, it was only $40. Thanks so much for the review and information!

I’ve had these since like a month after release and in my opinion they are very good, to this day I’ve not noticed any fault with them other than the fact that the ear cup material isn’t for me especially in the heatwave the UK is experiencing as it isn’t too breatheable, the mic is alright and the audio quality is really good, I’ve used this on an Xbox one, Xbox series X and a PS5 and I’ve had no issues at all, the bass is nice and boomy just like how I like it and because of this I’m considering getting the razer blackshark V2 pro wireless as an upgrade

They are really great. Ive had them for over two years now, playing every day for 3 or 4 hour straight, and still they feel like brand new. No issues what so ever. Sound is super good for gaming and music. I play warzone alot, and man can i hear the footsteps of the opponents, and tell exactly where they are. Its a grat headset, and for the price, no comparison !

@@Zero_Cool.111 haven't the extensions gone loose overtime? I'm planning to get the wireless ones but I'm scared it would loose out on me.

I'm still using my Razer Kraken 7.1 v2 from 2016. Completely fine. Tiny bit of wear on the ear cups and the cable sound is slightly annoying when rubbing against clothing but sound and mic quality is superb

Hi, i recently bought the v2 X and used them for a few hours. The problems that you are mentioning seem to be non-existent on my pair. The cable is not loose in any way. One problem i found is that my microphone produced a lot of static noise. I resolved that by installing RTX Voice. Thanks for the update!

I just got these today. I should have been warned about the bass overload. Im slightly intoxicated while writing this comment. But these headphones are completely made for my needs so far
