I got a lot of stuff about "the mic is actually pretty decent" and the 7.1 on PC is okay as its usually a hit or miss, and i cant say its a miss but its not a big hit either but not bad for 50, its more lightweight than my old hyper clouds, however the build does feel cheaper because of the plasticness compared to the hs50 but so far i like em!

Bought this and after a 2 - 3 months and a couple of drops from the couch it broke. I would say that the mic sound and the sound quality are good. I mainly used it for work so calls then eventually with PS4. For work it was fine in terms of comfort since there are breaks in usage. When I used it for the PS4 and played long hours, it felt uncomfortable at some point.
The plastic band when you adjust the headset to fit is the one that got broken for me. Definitely it's because on how use it, after each use I set i back to closed then pull it up and adjust again when I'll use it. Do take note that I adjust it normally, no excessive force or anything but doing it frequently is how I suppose it started getting some cracks and broke at some point.
Overall, it looks good and it surpsingly sounds good (felt like I didn't need to replace my ATH-M40x that I replaced with this) but you do need to be careful with it. Am I going to buy a new one again? Definitely not as I need something more durable that can withstand my day to day usage.

I’ve had the headset for around the year, best headset I’ve ever used. The sound is really good and the 71 surround sound blows the doors off of the THX spatial audio in my opinion. The only downside I’ve found on this headset is that it breaks very easily. The top headband cracked for me and my headset ended up being held together by a single wire. That being said, I got a year out of it before it broke and I just got a new replacement one, so it really is a good headset, you just gotta be careful.
Also, I never need an external mic as the headset mic is the best I’ve ever heard, better then microphones up to $300 dollars that I’ve heard.

Mine broke too. I don't think blacksharks are better in terms of build quality. Debating what to get as a replacement..

bro my headband broke too, Ive had two and they both broke in the same spot after a year! Upgrading to a steel series Nova 7 now as I really value comfort and these arent cutting it

I play SQUAD in PC, sound and mic is very important to me. I can't decide for the past days whether to get the Kraken X or Arctis 1 or HE50 Pro and then I saw this review. I finally decided on the Kraken X because I will also use this for WFH via Gmeet, calls either than gaming. Thank you for a superb review.
I couldn’t agree more with you on the need for swivel. As someone who wears glasses, I thought I’d love these, but after trying them on in Target, I couldn’t get over how the pressure was all towards the front. There was a noticeable gap in the back where they weren’t contacting my head. You were spot on in your review.
I have a shunt after 2 months because my head shape the left ear broke ..... Waiting on Razer to talk to me on what they intend to do.

Update, I still love these headsets, and unlike other headsets, the ear cushions are nice and deep, most headsets are shallow, and my ears are always touching the speaker. These are great for my huge hears. And these are so comfortable guys 10/10. HIGHLY recommend. Also great for zoom and long sessions. I find myself wearing these for 12+ hours going from my zoom classes to my Xbox and back to my laptop for studying and watching more lectures. Also one note. Just like Techne, I treat my stuff very well, but be aware, the top plastic part of the headband with the logo RAZER, WILL SCRATCH AND LEAVE A PERMANENT WHITE MARK unfortunately. But other than that one complaint. 10/10

Is there really a usb version? I ordered the jack 3.5m version, I ordered an adapter for it (USB jack adapter) I checked all over amazon, eBay etc but couldn’t find it.

For some reasons it costs 60 in Europe instead of 50 euros. Do you know why ? (For example, on Razer France or Spain, it's at 60 euros plus shipping fees which ends up at minimum 70 euros which is hella expensive knowing that the headset should cost 50 bucks... )

This is a super versatile headset with all the features you could want for $50. In my personal experience I have noticed the mic creating some fuzz, but overall I’ve largely enjoyed my experience with the headset!

For everyone having that problem, that if you wear these headphones and you fell a little bit of opening on the back of your ear, like the guy in this review, you just have to put the top of the headphones a little to the front, that fixed it for me.
How is the build quality of this headset because I've read quite a lot of reviews saying it's cheaply made and mic breaking down... How long can they last? If anyone could help me out here it would be much appreciated.
My main priority is a good mic so if there are any other headsets having an equivalent or better mic quality in this price range please let me know.

SteelSeries Arctis 3 or Razer Kraken X? I've watched both your videos and both seem very positive for the Xbox One console. I used to have the old 2014 Kraken and it just broke, I'm used to Razer products but if the Arctis 3 is better I'll go with that. Please let me know what you think comparing the 2 with the Xbox One Console.

I've had my turtle beach recon spark gaming headset for about a year now. I loved them. They never gave me any problems until recently they started cracking on the side twisting area he points at for the razer headset. Not long after the cracking they just completely fell apart. Apparently this is a known issue with this headset and I should've done more research, I was lucky they lasted me a year. I'm shopping for a new headset and these are definitely at my top 10, but that side twist has me so worried because they're just like my prior headset. Does anyone know if these are known to crack or break? Not just for this exact pair but for razer kraken headsets in general?

Hi, i have a problem with these. So i reinstalled my audio drivers and now i realise that I do not have the “Speakers (7.1 surround sound)” option as my sound output. Because of this i cant use the 7.1 surround sound program that came with it :(
I just bought this headset for my PC and there’s absolutely no audio. I’ve tried games and youtube. I can’t seem to find the proper fix. Perhaps updating drivers. My Razer Man O War stopped working the other day so I picked these up. If I can’t get them fixed Im going to be very disappointed.
I saw you reviewed both this headset and the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core 7.1, so, for PC gaming, which one do you recommend the most?
I have a hyperX stinger NOT CORE i had it for about 2 years and its still fine tho it has a couple of scratches since its plastic the razer Kraken X however broke after 4 months after falling off my desk 3 times my hyperX fell around 30 times and its still fine no cracks just scratches
Currently I'm using the Kraken 7.1 V2 and at 0:41 the bass was huge. Anyways, great review, if mine ever breaks ill have this in mind!
BJ does the mic pick up a lot of background noises?
@@drew5191 so there is in option in the razer synapse software that allows to get rid of background noises. It degrades the mic quality a little bit but it does work.
@@drew5191 also in my experiences on discord my mic doesn't pick up most of the background noises. Even if I'm whistling no one can hear it or typing on my mechanical keyboard. Not sure if its the headset doing the work or discord. But it's nice

I got a pair and they are loud asf if you turn your in-game volume up aswell i played rainbow six siege turned my sounds all the way up I could hear footsteps with surround sound from miles away
Sorry for late comment, but yes you will be able to hear footsteps. The trebles are exaggerated.

Is there a big difference between the kraken and the kraken x? Because my kraken isn’t in the best state anymore and I would love to get a new one. But the kraken x is cheaper and looks the same on pictures. What is smarter? I want good quality gear.

Im considering the kraken x, but im worried sound is muffled like the Kraken 2019, compare to those, how does the X sounds? what i really didnt liked about the kraken 2019 was the lack of highs. and ive heard conflicting reviews on highs on this headset.

so the ktaken x sound great all around, very balanced. now the 2019 kraken also sound great but lack bass, it's the tournament edition your thinking off that sounds muddy, and I don't recommend them. I think the x are solid, the 2019's are great if you want a competitive footstep picker headset
if i'm using these with a laptop (mine only has one hole it'd plug in) would the mic and audio still work at the same time since i can't use the splitter?

Bearoh his final verdict was the Sennheiser Orpheus. Just joking, honestly the Cloud series from HyperX frequently goes down to about 60 bucks, and they blow any cheap headset out of the water imo. Just save for a bit and get them if you can.
I bought this headset 2 months ago, and they cracked today. They cracked at the adjustable bands place, one side cracked. And i set the size on 4, so my head isn't big or anything. It happened to me few hours ago, and i had to share this story with all the people who consider buying it. Better buy a bit more expensive ones, then this. Frame of headsets is very low quality and can crack on few different places. It's like they are made of paper. I was saving money for quite some time to buy them, but im so dissapointed now i have no words. And of course, i can't refund or do anything, cause razer doesnt know is it my fault for cracking them. Im a calm person, and i treated the sets very gently, so this is not worth of a buy for sure, especially for passionate gamers who don't pay much attention how they put this headset on their head etc. I have razer keyboard, mouse pad, mouse, so i don't hate razer in any way, but this headsets are the weakest item in their shop for sure. I will copy this message to all clips about this headsets, maybe it will help someone. Sorry for long post.

I bought these earlier this month. They were great and performed well and were sooo comfy! Sadly after normal usage, a crack formed in the middle of the headset's headband. I was so disappointed because I just got them, and now I have to return them. The upside is that I was able to return them to amazon for a refund. Guess maybe my head is too wide for them. Was weird though because when I put them on, a part of it would dip inward which was what was causing the crack. I am not sure what that could have caused. This time I'm buying the aluminum band ones to see if maybe those are better for my headshape/width.

dont buy this headset, it breaks really easily on the headband. mine broke just 3 months in, i got it replaced and it broke on the same area. trust me dont buy this.

I bought the Kraken X Lite in June (It’s September now) and the side bands, i guess you would call it both crack whenever I put it on, and now both the side bands(where you see how many notches are there) got snapped off. It’s probably because I have a big head, but was a decent headset, the build was bad for me at least.
