      @@MaxxCoyote It's called Impact now but besides the point - At Bound for Glory he lost the title to Johnny Impact (John Morrison/Johnny Nitro) and immediately 'no sold' that he was beat up after losing and got up and broke character, gave the finger to Don Callis (Impact's head booker who was on commentary) and walked out of the ring. People speculated that it was all part of an angle, but he has never been back since, and Bound for Glory was back in October 2018, so it's been almost a year.

    "They don't pay me enough not to have an opinion". I remember firing someone for this kind of arrogance shortly after I became a supervisor in 2010. He was damaging staff morale, being insubordinate, and undermining his superiors, myself included, all because he had opinions about company protocols and policies that he didn't agree with, so he decided to do shit his own way. He didn't realize that being the employee and not the boss means part of your job is to shut your mouth and do as you're told, unless you're asked to do something against policy or unethical. He didn't see it that way. So after about a week of that, I called him into work on his day off and fired him.

      Michaels may have been a malcontent but he would do business and he stuck it out with WWE until he was forced to retire. Punk just took his ball, went home, then spun a sob story about how terribly WWE treated him.

    • @dantesprophet9612
      @dantesprophet9612 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pretty sure WWE drew first blood when they suspended him and then kept making barbs about him quitting. The only things in those podcasts that may be up for debate are how the WWE doctor treated his MRSA infection and Ryback. Can't argue with him being suspended. Since Vince had said during that time he was "on a sabbatical" and had later confirmed his suspension and can't argue with him being fired on his wedding day since Vince apologizes for it on that podcast with Austin. Can't even argue about his issue with HHH. No one thought Punk getting the shovel against him was a good idea.

      RollandDynasty well from the sound of it Aries was complaining about the direction of the company was headed and the incident Corny mentions happened after delerious got the book. Oh no question that ROH's current landscape is pretty miserable, but I assumed Cornette was insinuating Aries was complaining about the state of ROH during his '09 title reign, which I thought was under Pearce's booking. Aries is en example of a guy who was great and expected that to push him all the way up and be the number one guy. When he didn’t get what he wanted he was sarcastic to people. He even says how sarcastic he is. Unfortunately here’s a life lesson: sarcasm about your job at work is not appropriate. Sarcasm is using irony to mock something. And the truth is when you joke and are sarcastic all the time about what you’re not getting or what he expect people realize you’re not kidding anymore. It comes off like Jim says in a negative way and it can have a bad effect on the other talent and such. WWE obviously ain’t gonna deal with that shit. And I also find it funny that as he walks out of WWE he goes to all these other indie promotions and gets not one not two but like I think 5 or six titles from different organizations on him. That says to me he went and wined about not being the top guy which he thought he deserved and combined with the fact that he is good they just put him over because I’m sure he played it off that it was all everyone else’s fault. Yeah ROH, TNA and WWE were all the issue, not you, right

    I like Aries. I think overall: work rate, gimmick, and mic ability, Aries was arguably through best overall performer on the WWE roster. Cest la vie tho. Might be time for GFW to give him another run considering the problems they're having w/ Patron rn (another guy I like alot).

    Aries is great but 5’9? That’s being generous. I’m 5’7 at best and he isn’t a centimeter taller than me.

    I've known Austin Aries for 32 years. He was my roommate a couple times. He's my favorite person. As such, I can attest that he is not a miserable person - especially compared to Punk, who I knew a bit.
    For Cornette to call someone miserable is the pot calling the kettle black. And a lot of time Aries complained, it was to fight for the boys. He tries to do what's best for business.

      ViolentLee
      Seriously ? Wow. Thank you BTW because every person on this comment section believe what Cornette says. Cornette is NOT the voice of the world, I've never heard somebody complain about Aries, and with all the words that can describe Aries why "miserable" ?

    • @JustinLeeper
      @JustinLeeper 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yup. I got a few old videos on my page of he and I wrestling back in the day. I got him into training at Eddie Sharkey's.
      I'm sure Cornette didn't like something Aries said or did once - it's funny how he said he eventually had problems with the same office guys Aries didn't like - and so he decided to never like Aries again. No big loss, far as I'm concerned.

      this must be true, a random person on the internet is posting it on a youtube comment....

    • @JustinLeeper
      @JustinLeeper 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Maybe instead of doubting, click on my TH-cam page and see evidence that I was a pro wrestler, and that I have videos of me wrestling Aries back in the day - one of which lifts clips from about 5 different matches we had. I also have videos of various performances including hosting, stunts, and musical, so I'm obviously not just some rando.
      And most of them list my full name so you could find my Twitter easily (@StillManFights) and see Aries follows me and interacts with me often. Or go to my Instagram (@USJustinJapan) and see the pic I posted July 9 of us hanging out when he was in Tokyo for a few WWE shows.
      And if you've ever listened to an Aries interview (or read his new book), he mentions his best friend since grade school Justin who got him into Eddie Sharkey's wrestling camp. That's me.
      But if you still don't believe, nothing I can do for you.

      I can personally vouch for ViolentLee, as I was involved on shows with him while he lived in Minnesota and wrestled for various companies there along with Austin Aries.

    Aries is a midcard talent at best and the blame is on him. WWE has a stacked roster of main event talent on Raw and Smackdown.
