- It's no question that I love fighting games - and my friends at Capcom have made the benchmark, the best of the best, dare I say it, the creme de la creme of fighters. And on the PS1, they even had a really fun Subset to collect for called Fighter's Edge. Today, I'm going to rank all 14 games in the subset - and we're going worst to best!

Such an awesome topic to rank! I forgot about the “Capcom Edge” branding! The Marvel-based fighting games were all a blast, but it’s easy to see the improvements in those games as time progressed. Great video man!

Great list and rankings. I would probably have EX+a at B, Pocket Fighter at B (it feels like it should be fun, just never clicked), MvsSF at B (had it for the Saturn, hard to ignore), XvsSF at D (same reason), Star Gladiator at C and SFA2 at S.
Such a big part of my childhood, especially when they came out on the Saturn. Didn't like how they made the design for the market push, but it was late 90's-ish enough that it passed back then. Give me the import art!
As far as Street Fighter Collection 1 goes - while it's a bit silly today and earning of the ranking you gave it, it was a big deal in its day. Up to then, SSF2T was locked on the 3DO, and was regarded as the best version of SFII. Getting a version of SFA2 that was tweeked and re-balanced while including Cammy was a great bonus as well.

Pocket Fighter is so much fun, definitely would be a S in my rankings as well. Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the best of that series but Alpha 2 will always be my favorite bc I have a lot more great memories of playing that game as a kid and loved the characters and super combos. The rest of the games on this list are good too but never really got to play them that much

I don't think we have a single game on this list or have played it.... Maybe Scott has but we tend not to play a lot of 1v1 games, mostly because I want to preserve the longevity of my marriage 😂😂😂

I give both Street Fighter Collections a B ranking they are classics and I'm glad that it could be found on the PS games for the nostalgia. I %100 agree with you on Pocket Fighters it's goofy but in a fun way and I couldn't put down the controller. I also give it a S.
My first game on my PS1 was Battle Arena Toshiden and I loved the fighters on that system so much.
I know exactly what u mean about street fighter ex plus a I bought and owned that on the ps1 as a Kid I thought it was amazing and loved it but when my friends came over to play playstation with me they only wanted to play street fighter alpha 3, tekken 3, and marvel super hero's all games I had on the PS1 also lol so I unferstand your love for the game no one else shares.
Yea the ps1 was a power house for fighters big rival schools fan!!
Not a genre I have a great deal of love for, my thumbs are probably grateful for that 😂
After the early PlayStation era, Injustice Gods Among us on the PS4 is the only beat em up I've put any time into. In over 1000 physical games, I can only think of two one one one fighers in my collection. Tekken and Rise of the Robots 😂

I absolutely love Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha, and I still play it. I'd give it an A.

Why does alpha 2 score so high but alpha 2 gold is so low
Alpha 2 Gold is dragged down by it's inclusion in the SF Collection V1, which was an unnecessary re-release of games that had already been done a billion times already - even with SFA2, which released on the PS1 a year earlier. Gold is only a marginally improved version of the original release.
I love street fighter alpha 2 but I've never played gold and always wanted to give it a whirl. Also, personally I'm not sure you can rerelease street fighter 2 enough. It's as classic as pac man, space Invaders and tetris in my opinion and nees to be re-released constantly to show the youngstars of the future that Street Fighter 2 is still better than any modern fighter. But like you I prefer the Alpha series, just@@SquarePegs
