Watching this channel reminds me of an old saying, "There are three things a man can watch indefinitely. Fire burning, water flowing, and another man working."
Can we just keep in mind that this was Jackie Ding's time attack car back when people were learning who is Jackie Ding? Imagine all that wrenching on and pounding we've seen Ben and Ben do to their cars but it's Jackie Ding and this S2K. Love this rehabilitation! In a lot of cases this car would have been hammered on track until it was scrap.
Not just slapping a car together for content sake. Doing it right, going through the car making it better than new. That's why I watch and love this channel.
now this is a project car, unfinished interior, 5 different colored panels, 10 more things that need to be adjusted. and i will happily watch every second of work on it and the journey its going to go on to be finished. reminds me of thorne's honda when it was first being worked on
6’2” s2000 driver here with the same issues of not being able to see my tachometer because of seat height, and the lack of a telescoping column. Lowered my seat like yourself, then added a 3 inch steering wheel spacer. That was perfect as it no longer encroached my legs, could see the cluster and perfect driving position. Love this build as this exact car inspired me to build a track s2000 out of a junkyard car I bought running for $2500. ASM now owns it, so Im sure they will take good care of it.
As someone who is 6'6", my first car being a 91 civic, was comical to a lot of people. To this day, still one of the most fun cars to tear around in - roads, fields, snow...
Happy to see the s10k back on the channel! In a pure driving sense it’s going to be a hard car to beat. I hope it becomes a big part of the channel. Side note. Bayson R (eBay) makes the best fitting aftermarket oem style lips hands down. Incase you decide to change it up or mark wants one. Add an oem rubber lip molding to fill the voids and it’s perfect.
That yellow S2k looking great though. Gah. Makes me miss my 06. One of those cars that should never have been sold. I will say, the AP2 specifically looks modern enough on the exterior to still be a brand new car in my opinion. Very timeless design.
its really refreshing to hear someone say what you said at the end. about it being annoying to drive and about harnesses being unsafe on public roads. good on ya!
That this car hasnt been on this channel for 7 months shows how these guys can make so much great content that you dont even have the feeling you are missing out on sth.
I run 8 ITBs on a 452 cu.in. Ford FE. I recommend you make a small common plenum to run the power brakes, or convert it to a hydroboost from a mustang. Harnesses are safer than seat belts but you have to run the crouch strap to prevent the lap belt from riding up. Great work.
The eclipse gave Ben rust phobia 😂😂. 9:54 the s2k has one of the most gorgeous tachs wish you had gone that way 15:27 hood spacers would clear it if it's not a legal issue. Please paint her s2k yellow with bronze wheels pls pls pls If white championship white with bronze wheels
This was one of my favorite episodes! Great work on the ITB filter install - I always wondered how that was supposed to work. The shot and sounds at the end were giving me serious Gran Turismo 1 intro type vibes...
Great content lads; just be careful about your harness, the way it sits now might actually slide off your shoulders in case of an accident, be better off using stock belts until you get is sorted out.
Ben, the stock S2000 hood has a built-in cooling plate. The driver's side blocks off the extra area and the passenger's side has a venturi which guides the air and creates a stream of high pressure airflow into the stock cleaner box. The stock box has a tunnel which guides air and dumps it directly onto the filter. Furthermore, the stock cleaner box is designed to be a high pressure system with laminar flow throughout the entire system to maximize its efficiency. It's basically perfect from an engineering perspective. If you can find a way to get a stock cleaner box to simply guide air toward the ITB and then dump that air onto the ITB, it'll be a million times more effective and you'll have clean airflow through.
Love the channel the best quality and content out there but the level mark brings to the table of skills has brought this channel to the next level thanks guys for the videos keep up the amazing work
Where are some of your favorite spirited driving roads in the Lynchburg, VA area? The mountain drives in your videos look so enthusing, and I’d love to enjoy them myself!
I'm already loving this s2k build, spoon hard top, that headlights, ITBs, that haltech dash looks both pretty AND functional, even though personally I find S2K dash already pretty enough and would rather have AFR, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure readings, etc. on guages. Man, VTEC on ITBs, so menacing! I've always wanted that on my street K20A CL7.
No headrest holes in those seats for the harnesses is a total no go. You need to put in stock 3 point belts, or get different seats to run those harnesses
An interesting idea for later in the s10k project would be to put some new (aftermarket) sound deadening into it. It's extra weight for sure, but it'll be a godsend on any long trip
Oh boy... the moisture in the passenger headlight for the price of those would piss me off. That vtec crossover and 10k redline! I could live with this thing in this state as is though for sure 🤤this IS driving enjoyment, it gives all the feels!
6:00 by the sound turn signal relay is switching, seems you need an additional resistor, Honda is monitoring resistance of the turn light signal circuit ( flickering often then normal, once the bulb is gone ), correct me if I’m wrong. Nice job, Ben, in any case
Dude, I'm working while listening to this video in the background and when you started speaking in that Aussie accent i looked up so fast to see if i was watching MCM all of a sudden at 10:43 🤣🤣

I had the exact same thought!
He'd have to really try to be worse
It’s probably the least obnoxious one I’ve heard from a foreigner on TH-cam 😂😂
It's a pretty good Aussie. A little New Zealand twang coming in there.
As a fellow aussie, bro had it nailed
Mark when he first got on camera vs how comfortable he is now is night and day! The perfect addition to the team imo. 3 car roadtrip when?
That would be sick!!

@@JackieDing86 im sure lol. Speaking of, is there any JIS hardware we can get our hands on? Asking for a friend, for future projects?

As an s2000 enthusiast and former owner… thank you Mark for taking the time to get those panel gaps clean.
As a body guy I was looking for this comment. He's got them dialed

The pull at 27:56 , I was about to say how can one not smile during VTEC? But it was a delayed reaction 🤣 (like VTEC itself lol)
Ha was just about to comment on that exact timestamp, was going to ask if the noise was just a mic issue or when VTEC came on?
VTEC kick-in!!!!!!!!
thats VTEC YO! it really does have the most epic howl
Literally my thoughts exactly
is it the ITBs that make it sound way more gnarly or what? shit sounds vicious
The smile on Ben's face towards the end says it all.
Not just slapping a car together for content sake. Doing it right, going through the car making it better than new. That's why I watch and love this channel.
As an Aussie I approve of Bennys Aussie accent , not many Americans can pull it off but you did Ozzys proud
The cameraman needs a raise. The last few minutes of the video were amazing, well done!
that has to be the most hardcore vtec activation i've ever heard on a street car, what an outstanding build!
We may have only seen a few shots, but those of us who know how cool those ITBs are appreciate it.
those headlights make it like a cyberpunk S2000

Mark's S2000 though 🔥
What a great project is this. Happy for you that you finally could drive it. Especially after it went swimming in your garage.
As someone who build experimental aircraft, custom fabrication of brackets and problem solves is the most rewarding part of the job.
Been waiting for the s2000 videos to hear it scream with ITBs and 10k redline!

Great video. It's so satisfying when you can tell they're really emotionally invested in the project. Happy to see the big push with the S10K.

My bike revs to over 15k, it still gives me chill after 4-5 years every time I red line it. 😢😢
This thing has a good bit bigger motor though, more impressive IMO. There is a great feeling about hitting high RPM though.
