This lady knows the stuff! Respect.
I love how well informed you always are. I hate reviewers that get to test a car and almost don't know how to start it.
But you come in and almost know more about the car than the VW person 😅
He doesn’t even know the terminology, and called the estate wagon a hatchback sedan…
Most efficient at highway speeds is actually huge!
Yes, it makes so much sense. You have to wonder why nobody has done it this way before. Such a good idea.
But it is only in relative terms, doesn't mean it will consume the least.
Word has it the APP550 revs to 13000 rpm with optimum between 5000-11000 rpm which if it maxes out at 180 km/h would be the region of about 70-150 km/h. 👍
Useless information without a number.
@@krane15Auto motor Sport did a Test at 120km/h in the Autobahn, there they did 17,4 kWh/100km with an average Speed of 110km/h
VW rep was very knowledgeable and enjoyed her explanations. Very good video.
Yes one of the best representatives I have seen, both in Knowledge and enthusiasm. Nice rapport with Kyle too.
In Europe, station cars are like SUVs for us. As Passat station owner , it has a lot of space. I believe station version of ID7 will be a hit in Europe.
You really notice how much Franziska appreciated your technical knowledge.
It was a great video with lots of insights. Just love it when you have a peer from a company in a video.
Kyle at 11:02: "Shall we go for a drive?" 16:23 (5+ minutes later), they start driving 😂
He is soo fricking passionate about the cars. I love it….
After spending like the first six minutes of the video talking about how the quality was going to suck. Honestly, this channel could use an editor.
EXACTLY too! much dickin around! just get to it! we are not here for the chit chat!
I'm a big fan of the Arteon, and I see a lot of that in the ID7.
Also, EVs may have saved the sedan. When it comes to range, efficiency and practicality, sedans are king.
Not necessarily practicality but apart from that 100% agree
Great instrument cluster, much better then the Id.4. The interior and exterior are also looking good!
I drove an ID.4 on Saturday and was disappointed how it drove. This one looks better for sure.
the interior looks like plastic from 1980´s lada, it looks very cheap
@@b286guy as a vw owner all i can say is stay away, and dfont listen to kyle
he is in tghe pocket of vw, never tells the truth when it comes to vw
they are allways the best of the best 🤮
@@Hansen710 just because you hate your own car brand does not mean people who like it are paid. Relax and think rationally.
@@Hansen710Apparently he's in the pocket of Tesla too.
I want to see the wagon version with the large battery come to the US. I would buy one of those in a New York minute.
You'd be the only one.
Hardly. Compared to an SUV, they are way more aerodynamic and have wonderful space. Not sporty? Drive an Audi wagon sometime, they are great cars.@@krane15
I am looking for a replacement for my VW Passat Wagon, so the ID.7 wagon would be a better match than the SUV EVs currently or soon to be available in Australia.
Unfortunately it does not look like the ID.7 will be coming to Australia.
@@krane15we need more wagons in north america
@@krane15lol, speak for yourself 🤣
Alyssa in the back like... Ida gonna catch these hands 🤣 if she doesn't quit flirting with my guy 🤣 I'm sure I'm wrong, but the thought made me chuckle. Great video, and we appreciate all the overseas content.
I love that old timey expression “give it the beans”. It’s something someone under maybe 40 would never say. My grandfather also says it. We always laughed at him as kids. I think k he still says that for charging his phone.
Pretty cool! Am excited for the id4 facelift video!
Me too!
Every VW dealership needs to hold 1 unit. I don't believe the iD7 is a love at first sight type of vehicle, it's more love at first drive. Test drives will sell this car.
We also need ID2 GTI to North America please😁😀.
Not even then. Too much competition, and not enough uniqueness.
id.2 will be too small and too expensive for US buyers.
There is no competitor to the id7 in the US for a comparable price.@@krane15
@@kraenk12 Well, there's a pretty decent sized Golf GTI and Golf Type R crowd. You see them in every city. And there's a reason the regular golf hasn't left North America.
@krane15 Well, I think most folks are moving towards comfort now. The Tesla refresh is actually all comfort. Visually, it looks ugly to me.
All that being said, they have to price it right. Ioniq 6 isn't doing well because Hyunda refuse to dip below base Tesla
Bjorn: Oh Helga!
I love my ID4, but I’m *really* interested in the ID7…
It's incredible how in each video he demonstrates solid knowledge about each vehicle he presents.
Regarding the ID7, I don't dislike sedans, but in this case I would like it to be a little more visually bold.
As for safety, comfort and solidity, I believe it is on a high level.
The sound isolation and soft suspension is something that will be very hard for Tesla to beat. Even ID.3 drives more smoothly and feels more quiet than TMY
Currently drive an A6, very excited for this car
37:07 Nyland is pronounced pretty much like new-land (which is also the meaning)
Danke, Francisca, Alyssa, Kyle and the ID.7 👏🏻
Imagine a Kombi/estate/wagon version… 👌🏼
As it is a long hatchback you do not really need a station. (says a octavia IV station driver, who also drove the octavia hatchback version III before)
If anything the hatchback is easier to (un)load.
There will be a wagon in 2024...but not sure if for US, too...I doubt.
24:24 LMAO Kyle keepin’ it 💯- she wasn’t happy about that 🤣
This as a wagon will be extremely popular here in Europe.
Kyle, when she claimed 10-80 % in 25 min. you missed out to ask if this is with new cells or a SW update for the SK battery.
Really interesting VW product, well done
I am still interested in the ID7 too. Love my Passat, and was going to get the Arteon now that they upped the power, but I am seriously looking at an SQ8. But I like to keep a car in the driveway too.
it will sell well. next year they will introduce the station wagon version. maybe not that popular in north america but europeans like station wagons.
some companies need cars that have a longer range but do not break the bank. the ID.7 might fill that gap.
This video made me more excited about the ID.7. I can't wait until it gets here
Hi kyle there is also manual preheating button same screen where you can see charging speed. But now battery was warm so it dosen't show it.
Great videos, any plans on coming to the U.K while you are in Europe?
I have an ID.4 and looking forward to the ID.7 as our second EV. I hope we get the larger battery as it will be great for road trips from the Bay to LA.
Need this in the us too
Thanks for the review, seems the Volkswagen people are catching up! Impressive!
Nice looking car with well thought out control and User Interface. I say YES to sedans - not all of us are in love with the Stupid Unnecessary Vehicle. 🙂
Definitely need sedans, especially ones that are actually full-sized. So VW gets points for making that good decision.
The ID.7 is on my list of contenders for the next vehicle purchase. The only downside is that VWs tend to be overpriced, so I suspect the cost will knock it out of the race.
Have owned several Passats and a 2021 AWD ID.4 in New England. I would buy the ID.7 with the larger battery and AWD. Hope those are available in the US at launch instead of having to wait until a second release. Informative review-Thanks
For me a Sedan is perfectly fitting. I don't understand all the SUV hype.
I would like to hear about the service and repair side of the purchase equation in some future review - for all major companies.
Is the new software coming to ‘21-23 ID4 as has been rumored?
überholprestige is correct but it's really not used that much. even people who drive a lot often dont know the term
Can’t wait for this to be launched in Canada finally a worthy contender for Tesla what about the charging standard would it be using at launch
you wont be able to compare them in price
look at where id 4 is in price for used compoared to teslas
not worth it, specially because vw is experts in bugs, and making systems they cant understand them self
its again a 1´st gen full of problems no doubt
i dare you to get their voice assistant to work for exapmle 🤣 no doubt that is to complicated for vw
they did not fix their bugs in the old simple system, now they are creating something 10 time more complicated 🤣
btw i am a vw owner
their service when you come with bugs to them is the worse
I would get this i love sedans had two passts before loved them..
Look forward to see the wsgon version.
I'm 6'3 and not exactly in slim.....this would fit me perfect...especially as I hate a firm suspension....unfortunatley the price will put this far out of my reach...
We really need the id2/GTI in America.
I predict that it would be more successful.
You think the sub compact id.2 gti which is in America's worst selling segment overall. Would do better than this here? 😀
The U.S. still sees sales of over a million for sedans each year. Sub compacts though do 300-400k total across all the brands. 👍🏻
And the gti sells well here sure because we have a lot of people with $ who can buy a premium priced hot hatch, but it's still only in the low tens of thousands in sales not hundreds of thousands. The id.7 if made in TN with tax credit access could do 50-100k easily for comparison.
id2 would be too expensive for the US and people would hate on the pricing and space.
Cute VW spokeswoman
Very
I would be interested if we got the Wagon version state side.
I wish you'd ask VW if the US models will get amber indicators or blinking brake lights like the iD 4
It has to. North Americans safety standard.
Absolutely the opposite.@@JDDevice
Please tell me you asked if V4 is coming to existing cars. We need an OTA update!
We need more sedans in America.
No we don't. In case you haven't noticed, sedans are dead, and they're not coming back.
As you are in Europe have you tested the mg4
So any word if iD software 4 would make it to existing vehicles?
Love it!!! Too bad it doesn't have enough buttons and nobs for my liking... It too difficult to get access to anything.
this, i guess, is as close as we're getting to an EV Arteon.
"this is a vehicle you could bring a bride to her wedding" I kinda felt like I was going to hear Kyle say "don't get any ideas Alyssa" lol
Does the Id.7 have DCC Pro, or just the old DCC?
I wish Tesla would put a similar display in front of the driver!
What's with all the spots on these new cars?
Gee this would really do well in Australia
What’s the deal with the echoing audio? Are you filming with an iPhone with no external mic?
Reminds me of a Rover SD1
We NEED the id2 !!!
Want, not need. And ALL the automakers know that the sub compact segment has never sold well EVER here in the U.S.
Just look at the very fun well priced for the time Ford focus st and fiesta st model's.
Even tesla is going to build their compact in mx to start and export IT, so they can see what if any demand the U.S. has for it. 👍🏻
Too expensive and small for US buyers,
I wonder if it would get a tax credit if the battery was indeed from USA and car had final assembly over there.
As a German, the "wants to be able to" argument she brings up is so relatable. People drive 12000km a year on average, but think theyll charge a 500km car twice daily :D
Yep, and this car cost 13k€ more than a C (not E) class in Germany.
12.000km is around 1700€ of fuel per year, so 7 years of fuel!
And that's considering electricity is free, which is not in Germany.
In the end, it will cost more to run this car than a C class!
@@tiloalo Just looked at the German manufacturers websites, the current E-Class with no options and the smallest engine starts at 61.999 €, the ID7 also with no options (but arguably better base spec) starts at 56.995€. Theres only one battery, so its not even a "short range" version. I dont know where you got your numbers from...
@GamingProject23 Sorry, I meant to say c class. It starts at 45k€.
@@tiloalo Well then youve got your answer. You are comparing the ID7, which is bigger than an E-Class and has 286HP, with a C-Class, that is a lot smaller and in its base form has 170HP, less nice interior and what not.
Tesla fun. But car guy in general. Really like to try this car.
I'm one of those Americans who prefers sedans (or hatchbacks) to SUVs, but as much as I like the ID.7 it's doa to me until they commit to NACS.
Remember max charging speed is a marketing trick - what really matters is charging curve :)
Wow…Volkswagen ❤
I want small VW EVs!
I'm actually ok with just 2 window buttons. It's embarrassing how often I accidently open the rear windows, only to have the car tells me that I have left the windows open in the app. :)
It absolutely makes sense, because why would you - sitting in the front - ever open the rear window?
Its a glaring cost saving measure. People notice those things.
Can totally relate
VW, please stop using the high gloss finish on any surface. It looks good until you touch it, then it just looks bad. From an ID.5 owner.
nice, i will get a tesla then
Much nicer than a Tesla.
I just realized he is in the porshe not I’d 7
what about the reports that show that using touch pads in cars are more dangerous and that as the normal people start driving them that they want to keep their knobs and buttons.
VW will return to normal steering knobs (already announced, but it was too late to change this for the ID7 at this stage...perhaps in any Facelit in some years.
Did we see some chemistry between Kyle and Francisca? The US needs more sedans and an EV convertible.
Lots of flirting going on.
VW has chosen to keep ID Buzz production in Germany. And that will be the hottest VW product in the USA for the next few years.
Well the Buzz is being build by VW Nutzfahrzeuge (VW commercial vehicles), who also build the crafter, T7 and T6 - so its a Different Division than VW passenger cars
Also German automakers outsourced so much Production to the US because of subsidies, protectionism and much lower energy prices, we also need some capacities here
just give those americans a box on wheels and they will love it 😂
imagine if americans dident drive postman pat cars.
Add me to the list of "Interested" in ordering.... provided... VW adds the NACS plug or at least access to the Tesla Network!
Idk if the test drive lady was being extra friendly or Kyles charm was that inviting but for certain they were enjoying each other for sure. Alyssa was definitely 3rd wheeling it for sure 😂😂.
Hahaha VW put her there for a reason
Why you out here ruffling feathers
It blows my mind that they'll bring the ID.7 to the US market, but not the ID.2. I understand that car sales are down - but what boggles my mind is that wages and income are lower than ever in comparison to the cost of living and cost of goods - you'd expect cheap, smaller vehicles to do GREAT in the US market right now. Instead,. all of the automakers are transitioning away from them.
Car companies want high margin vehicles only. No one is paying a year's salary on an ID.2.
Guess I will be stuck with my BMW i3 for a while longer until they figure out we don't all need these BIG cars.
Car makers want to make bank on what they bring over. Profit margins are higher for those who can afford to pay in. Unfortunately for those of us who love smaller cars and/or don't have $100k to spend on a car have to sit and suck it up. It sucks. I want the new VW GTI ev version but I bet it's going to be every bit of $45k now if it even comes over to the states.
Tesla Model 3 sales tanked, compact cars are all dying except the Corolla and Civic, VW stopped selling the Jetta years ago, then the passat, and you can't imagine why they won't bring the id3 or id2 over???
@@sprockkets - I'm saying that I don't understand how those vehicles sales are tanking when income vs expenses is at where it is currently. People are having less children than they did in the past - Why does the market keep gravitating towards larger and larger vehicles that cost more initially and more to operate over-time. I'm saying that the whole thing doesn't make sense to me.
I know a lot of old people who won't let go of their ghetto sleds including my parents and half of my aunts and uncles. I would wait until it is available with NACS though.
Funny to see you drive around our neighborhood.
1/2 Baked and hopefully it doesn’t fall apart at 125,000 miles like my daughters Audi Q5 POS
this should be a full wagon/estate.
Next year
Do they still have the ID light on ID.7 ?
Yes!
Executive VW?
I feel like there's a large request for many VWs and Audis, yet we still don't get them.
US is a lot bigger than Germany. 15% of the market in the US is more or less equivalent to 60% of the total market in Germany.
"what's your favorite color...." not sure I can take much more of this insightful review...
8:17 Is it just me or did you guys hear the spokesperson for a Volkswagen ID Model mixing up kW and kWh too?
Well, Volkswagen should just take a minute and think about that.
I would NEVER get an SUV for myself. The whole liftback design of the ID.7, range, the possibility of GOTION new battery tech, AIR CONDITIONED SEATS!!!! (I'm in Texas where it is usually H-H-H-HOT) and the possibility of decent charging speeds is what makes it a winner. Tax credits are one of those things "sound good", but if it applies to your particular circumstance great, but if doesn't they didn't matter in the first place. I hope those air conditioned seats work themselves into an option on any level of ID.7.
I guess it will be similar as the Atlas which also has ventilated seats as standard.
its a vw, good luck getting the heat or cold to work without having to deal with bugs first
they never understod their old simple system now they are going for something 10 times more complicated
and we all know how they treat the costumers when they complain about a bug, they have the worse costumer service known to men
(im a vw owner)
never listen to kyle when it comes to vw
he never tells the truth, no doubt he is in vw´s pocket
@@Hansen710And what a spammer you are having not tried the SW4 at all I bet.
It is customer btw, not someone wearing a costume.
Volkswagen Excutives: please import the ID.7 tourer wagon to United States. Also looking forward to the unreleased next generation jetta.
I wish they would put all of that in the ID.4
They have.
I would buy this , but my issue is there isn’t anymore cool looking sedans. I would want a sedan like an Altima vc turbo , arteon, Kia k5 gt, but they are all still so slow . And then the Audi s5 is great but the gas is terrible so they should find a middle ground . I think Mercedes might have something
CLA electric-2024. The best and the best looking.
I think they released the sedan first because it is quieter (because of the sloping back) so journalists will get the best first impression.
There will no be Estate Version in other than the european markets, thats why
Rather have I'd buzz if same footprint
But id buzz is only for driving slow
Estate version?
Coming later
I kind of like her.
Her knowledge of the vehicle was great, most of the time the product reps only know the basics, or nothing at all. I suppose in Germany, car culture is more serious, even among women. Doesn't seem as common here in the US.
I like sedans for the efficiency, which matters in an EV. I want to squeeze out as much as I can from the platform. It's why I went with a 3 over a Y. Well, that and I don't like the looks of they Y. I barely accept the looks of the 3.
I will continue to drive the 3 as long as I can as it's been a good car. Unless Tesla/Elon does something monumentally stupid with their cars/service earlier, I'd like to keep it for another 7 years and by then there will be tons of other options. They way Tesla is going with forcing full autonomy, I probably won't be getting another.
They should bring back the Passat name in the USA.
Are you an Electrical Engineer...Coz you use a lot of tech terms. Love the VW
very intelligent.
