One of my favourite years in video game history. It has 3 of my favourite SNES games of all time Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 2 and Yoshi’s Island. Still to this day, Yoshi’s Island is my favourite game of all time. 👍👍

warcraft 2.....perfect game. played it most when i lived in germany. the language was set to german, and it really gave the game a cool vibe. i still say the ghostly "naturlich, meister" when my wife asks me to do something

Hi, Panzer Dragoon fan here. The remake was bad for like 2 months, but they fixed it and it's damn good now. It's also often on sale for like $3. Just buy it if you like interesting on rails shooters.
What a great year for gaming. Yoshis island warcraft 2 I both played back in 95 and love them to this day. Chrono Trigger I played years later but it still blew me completely away. Such an amazing game. Sad it never got a sequel.

I was 10 in 1995 and my favorite games of 1995 are: DOOM (PC)DOOM II(PC), I was still playing Wolfenstein 3D(PC) in 1995 and still playing it today , Mortal Kombat 3(SNES) , Tekken (Arcade) and PS1, Street Fighter Alpha Warrior Dreams(Arcade) and PS1, The Legend Of Zelda : A Link To The Past (SNES) I was still playing all these in 1995 and to this day. I'm almost 38 now.

Honestly, I don't remember playing anything in 1995 other than Warcraft 2. I don't even rememeber anything about 1995 other than playing Warcraft 2. I sunk an obscene amount of hours into that game and beat it both as human and orc. Used to know all the cheat codes by heart too. You know, for the 3rd and 4th playthroughs to feel like an invincible god commanding my unbeatable army.

God I love those chunky 3d graphics, there's something about it I've always loved, the creativity needed to make characters and other items out of a very small amount of polygons is crazy.
Sega rally championship is amazing. Its too bad SEGA didnt innovate and just clone the game for a decade afterwards, but in 1995 it was a GAME changer. Im doing a full chronologically correct gaming session. I have a full collection of Pc Gamer, Pc Zone, Game pro and computing magazine. I cant believe i forgot about panzeer dragoon from saturn. Im already in 1998 and playing when i can. Playing old school games, considering the graphics improvements each year is incredible. I totally recommend it!
@@fhs4137 I use RetroArch for the interface and then an emulator for each console and a special one for windows 98 where i can install msdos and win 95 & 98 games. The other option is to buy each game and console, but where i live that's impossible. Emulation is the only option i have.

Damn. 1995 was a bang up year for all sorts of creative works. The games here are insane. 95 had Chrono Trigger, DK Country 2, and Yoshi's Island among others. I'm kinda shocked that CT wasn't number 1. Look, I adore Yoshi's Island, but is it better than Chrono Freaking Trigger and DK Country 2? I wouldn't say so. DK Country 2 is also shockingly low. That game and CT are some of the closest to perfect I've ever played. 1995 also saw Neon Genesis Evangelion come out and Opeth debuted. Sure, Opeth had been around since 1990, but 95 was when they officially began with their first album. What a year.

Meh to #1. I'm certain because it was a Mario game and the art direction it helped bring up review scores at the time. While I do not think it is a badgame, I just cannot help but get board every time I attempt to play it. Maybe its the extra side things they added to the game that they give you that kills the more satifying straightforward nature of super mario world one.
The original Virtua Fighter port for the Saturn sucked as a result of it being rushed...that's why they released Virtua Fighter: Remix for free for those that owned the original a few months later. P.S. DKC2 still looks great today.
YEESSS! Yoshi's Island beats out Chrono Trigger. Whilst a huge fan of JRPG's, Chrono Trigger is nowhere near a personal favourite of mine. I find it clunky, convoluted plot wise, and the battle system is not my favourite. Don't get me wrong, I owned and finished CT on SNES. And have it in my Steam library. But I'm much more a Chrono Cross man.
I do not have such fond memories of Seiken Densetsu 3. It was amazing at first, but the back half of the game was such a slog, with endless levels of fighting the same monsters over and over between every increment of plot advancement. Chrono Trigger though, now there's a perfect JRPG! I personally rate it higher than FFVI…

I really don't Not only is it so so much uglier than its predecessor (seriously it's hard to look at), but it was also more tedious and the control was looser. I truly hated this game and I find it baffling when people refer to it as one of the greatest platforms of all time.

Sega Rally Championship is so, so good. The physics are absolutely perfect and made the game eminently replayable.
As Canadian child in the 90s, NHL 96 was so beloved because they brought back fighting after it was missing in 94/95.
