The team reporting to the TOC whenever they do something that interacts with the environment, like playing a video or using a camera, is a nice touch. It's like they understand that in an SCP event even seemingly harmless actions can have an affect, and they want to ensure they get approval/document how they are interacting with the house.
All SCP should be considered as a threat and should be spectated on

Honestly, I was a little shocked how comfortable they were using the camera, considering the existence of cognitohazards. You know what they say: “An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded”.
To be fair it that or they get killed one by one
MTF is all about a combination of playing by the book and playing it by ear. Since the camera was the only way they had to see anything it was an acceptable risk. Besides, cognitohazards aren't that common, it's like a 50/50 chance that you can come back from them, and what alerts the Foundation to a cognitohazard is usually it's primary effect getting noticed.
also: "we found a video file titled 'play me', proceeding to open it"
and it had a pay off being that that camera did end up leading to a cognitohazard from the mirror in the basement
That's why they asked for permission from Helios, Helios took a second to respond, maybe asked the O5.

20:18 I like how this situation unfolded, both in terms of the acting and the tone that the scene handled.
In any script, the soldier either would have overacted and started screaming or fainted, almost convulsing, very aggressively, or it would have resulted in instant death. Here, however, the reaction is much more realistic, with the uncertainty and shock of the wounded soldier and then trying to retreat with the help of his companion, losing strength little by little until he dies silently. Ironically, I found it much scarier than any over-the-top death or jump scare.
This scene is in no way unique or advanced. The soldier SHOULD be freaking out, he SHOULD be in shock holding both of his hands on his throat with all his strength, he shouldn't even be able to process whats going on anymore due to fear and lack of blood and oxygen to the brain and when they were dragging him that was the dumbest thing of all there are three men there, two should be lifting him and bringing him to the other room whilst one assesses the actual threat and not have his back turned to whatever tf just did what it did. the only thing good about the whole death scene was the way his throat was lashed out of nowhere, that was confusing and unnerving and the sound cutoff as well was great but everything after

That's one of the reasons Homeworld is so good, even when the battle is getting intense it's the job of the adjutants to report the facts even if their friends and family are the ones fighting. The slight shifts in tone as you lose units are much more emotional than them breaking down or being dramatic, because real people don't deliberately try to be an emotional mess, they try to keep their shit together. Doubly so if you're a professional.
It's a big mistake that I see TV and movies make all the time. Big emotional moments need to be earned.
That sound mixing at 19:20 is perfect. No big noise cue or anything, just subtly dropping the white noise reverb with the slight movement. It's so good at being incredibly unsettling, and a really great demonstration of how less is more, especially with elevated/suspenseful horror.

DON'T MESS THIS UP
This's is the most mind-blowing film I have seen for SCP stuff good work man.
This was excellently done great job, keep up the great work!
I bet the MTF's first reaction was "Finally, something we can shoot with bullets."
Always thought it was funny that these MTFs are armed to the teeth but 90% of the time they cant kill the shit they're deployed against
@@halrold7369 That's because the things that bullets work on are either contained or dead, and it doesn't make for a good story if they can just shoot the anomaly and be done with it.
U might win..or loose the bet my friend
Man, Cicero (the shooty Italian), must have had a blast of a day. He got to use his gun TWICE that day.
@@iSmartMan1 Basically GOC
Can't believe that this is free to watch.

Honestly!
20:30 I love how besson ducked a little since kolinsky's gun was pointed in his direction
I want a sequel now so badly, this was amazing
Damn bruh refreshing to see people in a horror scenario act smart.
So true, it seems as if people in most horror movies have less than 2 brain cells
People's in horror film have 99% chance trip on ground and can't rise up in 5 second
Except they didn't inform everyone that the enemy is invisible and for now only the camera can see them...
@@tako158 It was probably obvious apart from the camera part, which wouldn't be very helpful anyways since there's only one
@@tako158 Cus he thought that it wasn't invisible when he first saw it
"Tactical Horror" was never a genre i thought I would love to see
I love it, i kinda looked at movies like Doom as a tactical horror.
Check out Delta Green, next to SCP it is the best for "Tactical" or investigative/Cosmic Horror.
Try out FEAR, then. Solid game. Definitely gives off SCP MTF vibes
Yes getting tired of this generic horror where the characters had nothing but scream and fear on their ass.
If you like books, I'd recommend Monster Hunter International, by Larry Correia. It's very shlocky and b-movie, but fun.
bro this vidoe is sick keep up the work W Evan and his team
Only recently discovered the SCP universe, through The Exploring Series channel on TH-cam. Binged the SCP playlist. Trawled the site. This short captures the tone so well. Not to mention the quality, all the small details and hints, building of suspense, sound, literally everything, perfect. As a completw newcomer, amazed at what the SCP community has put together, and this is some high level stuff which deserves more funding. So much solid content, multiple series and movies could be crafted from all this material. Just amazed at what has grown out of a simple 4chan post with an open wiki project and an organically formed community. 👌 👏 😍 👍
This is what horror movies should be like this. Jumpscares are good. But this genre of horror movie with no jumpscare but constant paranoia is awesome
Yeah jump scare are soo scary its now boring
But horror movies without jump scare
Have more action and more scary (some how)
Jump scare is a cheap way to scare people. Imo it can't really define horror in the truest sense of word. The art of horror is about building tension and suspense without letting it go just to give a shock through jump scare after. This is especially true for novels or any written stories; impossible to utilize jump scares.
@@user-no9he3po1t the fear of a sudden jump scare is better than an actual one
@@al-aminmohammad7574 that is called terror my friend
That's just it. I think I've said before that jump scares are cheap. Look at old horror movies, they would often build up a creepy atmosphere of suspence. Establishing that takes more work and I think can be more effective than just throwing something in your face. That's not scary. That's just startling you. I think someone once said "If I run into the audience and tickle you, does that mean I'm funny? "
I love how when the invisible entity is revealed through the camera there’s no jumpscares or anything Hollywood does. Gives you time to slowly take in the horror and be overwhelmed by a feeling of horror
YES
Exactly! I think it has a bigger impact than just some cheap jumpscare
100% way more terrifying!
Reminds me of the Mind Flayer scene from Stranger Things
@@AmericanIdiot7659 I got that vibe when they showed the tentacles lol
As a SCP fan I thank you for this cinematic masterpiece, fantastic work team

Besson: "Look at me and tell me I'm not the most valuable member of this team."
Also Besson: **kills himself**
That was my favorite dude man 🥺🥺🥺🥺
dont think it was besson that died, mask art was different. it was Scepter 1-02
Correction: it was Besson seeing as they called in Scepter 1-04 as down not S1-02

only if sombody go and knock the camera off his hand. well i supose they also need the camera so mayb not do that but also if they have some kind of far reaching stick they can use to close to door or somthing damn they lost thier mvm because they thinking too slow.

That moment when a fan film has a better call for fire than movies with a budget of millions of dollars...
saying "out" after every transmission though..
@@nomad25c oh ya it wasn’t perfect but it was way better than most. He at least gave some form of each transmission and didn’t just say “target house bring the rain” or something lol
@@TFBadBush indeed, cool video 💪
@@TFBadBush very true. It's not just about accuracy. When movies make language too ordinary it's like the auditory equivalent of filming in just one location in a domestic mall. Specialist realistic language is spicy.
@@tamlandipper29 exactly and with something like a call for fire it’s a simple google search and it literally tells you how to say it lmao
