I was coming here to say this! His eyes alone really spoke to what kind of man Crow is before he ever revealed anything about himself in conversation. Everyone did a brilliant job, but this performance really made me feel the complexity of the emotional journey Crow was on.
The fact that you can often see grains on the film from radiation just shows huge attention to detail

I'm so glad the final product looks like Hollywood production, and that GSC gave an endorsement. Also finally a Mercenary centric STALKER story.
I thought they were NATO coalition forces seeing as their armor was blue and to my knowledge, Duty doesn't typically work with mercs.
@@WarCriminal-y1u Most of the factions can AND will ally with each other if the condition of the Zone dictates it. Plus just look at their weapons in the base game. You can't convince me that they are purely Slav based and not Western European in nature.
It seemed the infil team was Freedom based given the ceasefire treaty giving rostok control over to Freedom forces. That and the wolf patches they all wore. Brain seemed to be Spark if I got his patch correct.
@@MarineAVNGR Brotha they all have Mercenary patches on and Brain is wearing an Ecologist patch.
On the contrary this is my ONLY problem with this fan film. I was expecting it to be more focused on the grittiness of STALKER life not all that heavy milsim stuff. All the fully kitted professionals with top tier weapons and equipment made it feel more like a typical action military tough guys movie. If there were just some more characters like Crow and Brain that would’ve been perfect. This and maybe also not have such a huge focus on action set pieces and more focus on the zone as an entity and a concept. Aside from that though the cinematography is top notch and there’s so much attention dedicated to small details that some people will never even notice that it’s pretty admirable.
Chris James as Crow is a real gem of this film. You look at him and think: he is a true stalker. Good job guys, thank you so much.

@@ChickenWashingExpert-d1i Yea It's a B-grade movie at best and an expensive fanfic at worst. Everyone on screen looks like they know they have a camera pointed at them, terrible acting can be excused, the worst part is the framing of half of these shots and the camera movements/cuts make no sense. The writing is on par with a Ubisoft game. It's a cool fanfic project but I'll be damned if any of this can be described with a 'chefs kiss'.

I don't know if I'm going crazy, but I swear that I heard OG stalker sfx many times during this, but they blended so well, felt like the somehow they recreated them but still sounded so much like the original.

This was soooooooo well done holy shit. The scene with the monolith guy just "I dont give a fuck" walking, taking bullets, and magdumping the bodies actually made the monolith feel terrifying. All the attention to detail was crazy.
These were clearly not normal Monolith yes they do normally not give a shit as you say but they are normally still about as weak as humans these Monolith were like tanks.
@@rmcgowa1987 Yeah, I thought at first it was just an artifact when they killed the one outside before the one they unmask indoors, since they did show Crow finding one earlier aswell. The way it was done made what would've felt like just a normal shootout scene feel actually kinda scary though.
Absolutely incredible the first film I’ve seen anywhere that has mostly correctly radio dialogue and CQB actually done correctly and the atmosphere perfectly resembles the stalker atmosphere
The concept for the "Evolved" C-Consciousness blew me away ! Loved the attention to detail and staying true to the atmosphere of the Zone !
This went way beyond my expectations. Whoever des8gned the landscape shots to fit in with the nature of the Zone really knew what they were doing. The visuals had a pleasing dreamlike quality at times that turned to stark reality at a moments notice. And whoever played Crow did a superb job, I hope he gets plenty of other work. Thank you to the team for working on this and bringing their vision of the Zone to us. You all did a wonderful job.
It was the eeriness of the wilderness they were in. Its earth yet alien at the same time, with such hightened tension. The atmosphere was fantastic.
Just to think I first played stalker SOC over 17 years ago, and here we all are still enjoying the IP in it's various forms of media.
So happy to see this IP grow. Truly deserved
Very good.
Monolith > Great
Crow > Great
Only complaint, lack of mutants. I almost thought we had a controller in the first part, surely that wouldn't have been difficult, unlike other mutants.
The only other STALKER fan film that I really love was the animated "Contract" from SODAZ, so finally being able to see this REALLY makes me more pumped for STALKER 2. Every single detail here and even the grain that makes it look like there's radiation just shows the love and passion that the crew had to make this film, and I commend you all for it. Great work of art!
Good hunting, Stalkers.
"Contract" is just insane.
@julesgro8526 It just felt a lot more STALKER honestly
I seriously thought this was a short film, not a feature length... thoroughly impressed.
I havent even seen this yet but i already know its top tier
Edit: dear god it's beautiful
I did, you won't regret it!
The muffled distant gunfire during that whole raid sequence in the red light from 28:22 is one of my absolute favourite parts of the whole movie honestly. As a massive gun nerd who loves gun based audio and nuances, it felt incredibly immersive. The fact that they are "random," and not just a loop was also really nice. Well done!

The foley work is exceptional, and the effects and filming hold up when streamed to my Roku from my phone. The acting, the dialogue… if I found this as a pilot to a Netflix miniseries I would still be impressed. Well done to all involved
This was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! The acting, the guns, the CGI, the lighting, the camera angles, WENDIGOON… everything just blew me away!
A story catering to the game properly, military detail that most standalone military movies miss and S tier acting from everyone involved.
Evan good sir and your whole team should be given an award for this.
I thought the acting was lacking in basically everyone but Crow and Brain, nonetheless great film!
@@sandberg_01 I'm thinking they got ex-military or Law Enforcement to play the mercs, not "Actors". That way they don't have to teach some person who's never done it CQB, because SHEEESH were those scenes clean.

I love how Baddie noticed the grav anomaly and his homie said "I don't even know what you're talking about man" there's an NPC in Stalker 2 that talks about his "trainer" that tries to teach new Stalkers how to sense anomalies. And that he says some people just have the sense for them and don't need bolts or detectors, Baddie apparently had a rare skill very few who enter the zone ever get...
This whole thing was just beautiful and I hope to see more Stalker content from you guys, absolutely killed it, the writing was amazing on its own. The gunplay was extremely satisfying.
My favorite part was when crow forgave his wife's killer, which freed him from the zone, I'm pondering if it was testing him, trying to see if he was ready to leave.
Or if he already accepted his fate and would give into staying in the dream.
What do the other Stalkers think?
i think the c-consciousness was trying to give him a fantasy of everything he's ever wanted in order to manipulate him into being yet another part of the collective
scene with forgiving were peak.
Top-notch writing, dialogs, pacing, combat action filming/steady unsteady cam sequences, lighting, uniforms, weapons, props, location, weather, squibs, sound recording and effects, set decoration, consistent quality performance across the board, I wailed out a few many times: FAWKING HELL MATEYS. The CQC tight halls, building clearing authentic heart pounding, sweats. DEWWWWD!
I love how the silencers work and sound how they would actually in real-life, not almost completely silent like portrayed in video-games.
Attention to details!
Agreed! I now own 4 suppressors and only two are "movie quiet". Both my 22lr & 300blk dedicated suppressors are whisper quiet BUT only if I'm using subsonic ammunition aka slower than the speed of sound. Literally the second you step past the speed of sound there's no suppressor on the market that become anywhere close to hearing safe and are still extremely loud.
@@TerminalM193I'm wondering, since that bullet isn't faster than the sound it produces, can you hear the whizzing noise like as it's coming at you?
Crow's mental battle against the Hive Mind mirrored the climax of "Pretty Deadly: The Rat" in a lot of ways, and they both make a point that I really like: Forgiveness is the only way to be free of obsession.
In Crow's case, its his obsession with the death of his wife/child and the man who killed them. Even after torturing the man, (I assume, it seemed from the way he acted in the dream he'd done it before, could be wrong though), Crow still could not let go of the pain of losing his wife and child. It was an outlet for his grief, but it also stoked it. Kept it burning long after it should have burnt down. Its only by choosing to forgive and let go that he is able to free himself from this anchor and resist the temptation presented by the Hive Mind.
However, like in "Pretty Deadly", we also see those who are unable, or more accurately, unwilling to break free of their anchors. Brain could not let go of his obsession, with the idea of a better world, and thus he was consumed.
(Another mostly surface level connection): Reaper of Obsession and Hive Mind both collect peoples minds/information. connections connections connections, I am very happy :))
NERRRD, sorry just kidding. I was confused why brain was gone and not crow, thanks for the thought
I'm not familiar with the other movie you're talking about could you point me to it?
@@sicklysphaghetti461 Sure thing! Its actually a series of graphic novels called "Pretty Deadly". The best reading order is Volume 1 "The Shrike", Volume 2 "The Bear", and lastly Volume 3 "The Rat". Would highly recommend you give it a read!

Ідея Сталкер - інтернаціональна. Дякую хлопцям за можливість насолодитися переглядом цього фільму. Це було чудово!
По-русски можно было сказать, поросёнок?

she shadow on my zone til i stalker (stalk her)
Stalker? I hardly know her!
@@bigcheese7492 he plays S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: spectrum of the zone💀
the fact that im subbed and this wasn't recommended to me until 2 days after is criminal

These guys managed to touch every fiber of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ; from "Roadside picnic" to Tarkovsky, to "our" side of shooter and even some "cheeky breeky" was present.
I started watching with "hmmm..." but soon got pulled in, the atmosphere was just right and engagingly immersive ...
Bravos !

That's what I was thinking too! They captured the beauty and essence of the zone and yet how dangerous it is and how it can change at will. It was amazing.
Same Same. Tho little bit wish the Monolith commander would have Gauss rifle.....or make it even more fun a RPG.....like in the corridors of the NPP.
I agree. I came here expecting GAMMA tacticool slop with absolute disregard for the source Material, but this was quite good
I think you watched something else.
@@Kminek246 It would have been a brief shootout if the commander had a Gauss rifle tbh 🤣
dunno if anyone else has said this but i really love that the surpressors are actually acurate and the guns do make noise just much less
Bloody fantastic. Loved every minute.
The little Specks of radiation in the “camera” throughout the show was a very fine touch to detail.
Homage to the Soviet Chornobyl tapes.
My favorite part of the the movie was when wendigoon said "IT"S GOONING TIME!" and gooned all over the place
I gooned twice after

I felt like this film took themes from the Roadside Picnic book, the Tarkovsky movie and the games in a very engaging way. Good job guys, loved it!
Yea, there are lots of wide "people walking" shots in here, just like in Tarkovsky's movie!
STALKER overall is based on Roadside Picnic and Stalker (1979).
@@mcfeddle it's overall "inspired by" & not "based on". The only thing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. & Roadside Picnic have in common is a concept of the Anomalous Zone & its valuable artifacts, similarities pretty much end there.
Roadside picnic! Fuck yes!
I'm so glad you said something because either read that in prison and it really stuck with me and I thought I was the only one going to think that
I haven't watched the original stalker film, and haven't played the games, so no idea how faithful to the spirit of the game.
Coming into it with zero background knowledge, I thoroughly enjoyed it
It's spot on.
Spot on
It's very close to the game, also the movie, books, and games are all very far appart. But this is based on the game series and it's very accurate. Would have been Nice to get some mutant action though
OMFG ITS HERE!!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH Evan, Isaiah, an everyone else who worked on this EPIC of a tale... priming us for the launch of Stalker 2!!!
pretty great fan made movie! the lack of mutants and other shenanigans surely turned this into a more of an EFT, stalker gamma adaptation but the budget wouldn't allow them to appear. nailed it on that meat tenderizer anomaly!
This film is absolutely thrilling and the quality is top notch. I love the way you interpreted the zone in this film, it was an absolute joy to watch!
It's commendable that this avalible FOR FREE on TH-cam. Thank you so much
The atmosphere, CQB work, squad roles have really made this film more immersive. Phenomenal job team.
I must say, that for something that is basically a fan-made project, without the funding of a huge Hollywood studio, amazing job you did here.
Yes, it could have been a bit better here and there, maybe a bit longer, but I am glad that we got something in the end.
I disagree it should've been shorter and lets be honest that ending was not great. At best crow should've survived. But most of his team and him. Yeah nah, I don't think so.
Dude, this rules. I played all the stalker games growing up and it was great watching something so high quality and well done by actual fans
Don't know why I wasn't notified, but I happened to be searching for STALKER 2 news and saw this title. The moment I realized what it was, my heartrate spiked and I started breathing harder. No media has ever excited me so immediately and unreservedly. I'm about to drink in this long labour of love and savour every second of it.
And then watch it many times over, just like Overlord!
Непогана задумка!!! Чудово що для миру stalker відкриті кордони, і грає в цю гру весь адекватний світ ❤
