I like the reference to the sims in the title. Who ever tried to do things on the computer, wanted to control people, kinda like the sims, which was originally called doll house.
This is the first comment I've ever seen online that took notice of that reference. It's also not the only reference, originally there were three, now there's only two. Dr. Conway was originally called Dr. Wright prior to his current name.
The scary thing about these shortfilms are that you never except the things that are happening. No crappy jumpscares, just the fear of the unknown. Lovely!
I LOVE the professionalism and competency of these foundation guys - Dude sees and reports 'non-euclidean geometry' like he is saying it is 'tuesday'. None of that "the professional troops are morons for *plot* reasons."
Notice how he also just says that his buddy is down, possibly KIA, and then they all walk off And then Fletcher just VOLOUNTEERS FOR A SUICIDE MISSION!!
@Rauno-Rainis Pähkel I don't mind an occasional screw up. And SCP are written by various people so there will be a spectrum of how competent they are portrayed. My problem is when highly trained professionals act like idiots for no reason other than to further the plot. This is especially annoying when the people have previously been show to be highly skilled.
A theory on the "glitchy" movement of the girl, the titles Dollhouse so the sudden jumps to a new location is a lot like picking up and putting down a figure in a dollhouse. O Niel's disappearance could be that whoever or whatever is controlling the house physically picked up and removed O Niel's figure from the house, this also explains the dissapearing of the furniture, they were simply removed by the "controller" of the house. The non-Euclidean geometry is sort of like how a dollhouse can be split open to give a better view inside and the portal in the bedroom could just be them moving from one split part of the house to another.
I was about to ask why this comment isn’t as liked or replied to then I realized it’s not even two weeks old. What you said makes a lot of sense but that then begs the question who’s in control of the dollhouse?

I'm not OP, but I think the computer is the anomaly. I think it's moving things inside the house, removing stuff, adding stuff. Or pausing things. Fletcher was messing files in the computer, and I think that's why the subjects were glitching out, and one of them even tried to attack the MTF. The subject attacked the MTF because I think the house was raided. That's why the TV said the attackers were different, and the MO was also different, that means that the dude could be speaking on his phone, pretending it was someone else from the house. Or why the furniture was gone, and why the subject that was on his phone had a really long neck (because it got corrupted) or why it disappeared out of nowhere. I don't really have an abswer for West getting glitched out, but possibly because of Fletcher messing with the computer. The TV saying numbers idk what it was, but I read some comments that the symbols shown were something ASCII related, and it said "I Am Prometheus". If I'm not mistaken, I think it's from Greek Mithology Prometheus is best known for defying the Olympian gods by taking fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology and knowledge. I don't really have an idea why this is related to the PC, it's just what other comment said.

Man, you guys could start a damn Netflix series with a lil funding. This was hands down, the best SCP short film I've seen. Also, movement and military terminology was on point as well, for the most part.
Honestly, i dont think the foundation needs a tv show or movie. So far, all SCP content has been in short documents or videos that never give you all the information so as to leave some mystery and horror to them. A tv show or a movie would both have to drag this stuff that was only meant for short stuff like what we've seen so far into a long series or a 2 hour long movie, and have to go into a lot of detail about everything in them so the audience will always fully understand everything that is going on and why it's happening, completely ruining any mystery or horror it might have had.
@@binarywaffle3433 Following random themes, each SCP for one episode with foundation intervening at times. It could work but would require non-recurring setting and characters. Something like X-files or Warehouse 13 (?).
I’ve always maintained that true horror doesn’t come in the form of terrifying figures, jump scares, or terrible things happening to people, but rather the fear or the unknown. Fearing the unknown is one of our most base instincts, our brains are wired to take us far away from that which we cannot, under any circumstances, understand. These films encapsulate that fear so well and make for some epic screenplay.
@@kotarichards5218 I think "Cardoon" is tied to Brigadoon which is a town which never changes because it appears for only a single day every 100 years. But if any of the residents of the town leave, the town will disappear forever.
Wow. Kept me on edge from start to finish. Real talent right here. The camera, the music, the acting, everything was completely on-point. S-TIER horror is rare, but this hits the spot. Well done!
The thing is though, that all of the SCP universe is licensed under Creative Commons Share-Alike 3.0. This means that any studio that made a film wouldn't get to keep the copyright and would have a hard time getting any money out of, say for instance, merchandise. This diffuculty would drive most studios away, because their main goal is to make money. Additionaly, the one most people know, 173, is the work of an artist who reserves all rights and has generously given the SCP community the right to use their art on the condition that it's used non-commercially. So if you're paying attention, the face of SCP cannot be used to make money. That's why the SCP universe will never get a big budget movie/series from Netflix or hollywood. It's too hard to make money, which is the current goal of the people who could make a high-budget mainstream movie or series. (sorry for any grammar/spelling, on mobile)

8:03 theory; I’ve watched this a few times now and I think I’ve finally got an idea as to wtf is going on here. The laptop has several open folders. One for each main room, even the bathroom. Coupled with the fact that Yava was running in the background of the same laptop it could mean that the code is used for the house, but it needed the keyword-cardoon-to merge with the house’s files. Suspect 2 could be behind all this, I don’t know. Her being institutionalized for a year with nothing else after that seems very suspicious, and I don’t know what that’s about. But she was present before AND after the keyword was spoken, but she appeared severely glitched after Yava was merged with the house’s program. It could be that the house is a coding anomaly, and Yava was a broken program that corrupted the system and house. Also it could have been a fail safe for whoever or whatever lived/lives in the house, as a way of knowing if there are intruders. But it still doesn’t make sense to me as to why the occupants would post the keyword outside the door, did they know the MTF would be there? Evan Royalty did I get anything right? We’re all dying to know what the real story behind this interesting film is
Maybe "Camel Skin" was a bad password meant to bait intruders. It guided you to the contingency "cardoon" which was the keyword that triggered anti-intruder measures (the MTF glitching and the girl trying to kill people)

If your not the kind of person to panic in emergency or aggressive situations than that's how you'll react to the paranormal too. Only in Hollywood do people let out a big scream when seeing something. In real life people usually cry out in response to some being hurt. Fun fact: Oppenheimer was basically prometheus too, he gave the humans fire in the form of the Atomic bomb and was tortured for eternity due to the immense guilt and depression that came with the aftermath of his creation. I just wanted to say that for no reason :D

What would you say happened plot-wise in the short? I liked SCP Overlord, this one just doesn't seem to have any meat on the bones in terms of storyline (acting as well), but maybe I missed something.
@@tiagoviana263 Yeah i also think the computer is the anomaly, i wonder if that was created or if it just occured. These films are so damn good that there are so many possibilities about what actually happened.

It's really incredible how much it adds to the tension when they struggle so much with SCP's when they themselves are well-equipped, well-trained, and thoroughly prepared.
I agree, I love how the MTFs are always so badass but always seem to get wrecked anyways. Poor guys are like the best of the best and the Foundation is like "let's treat them like D-Class. We need more intel on the anomaly!"

@@DrakeOola In this one, it made sense, as they didn't even know anything about the anomaly yet. I imagine once they have some containment protocols in place, they'll begin really testing the anomaly by throwing D-Class into it. That's assuming it's not keter or worse.

This was seriously a great scp film, the suspense had made me wonder what was going to happen next, great film!
I love the attention to detail too, like how you can hear the surveillance aircraft watching them flying overhead when they get out of the van.
The more fan-made SCP content that is put out there, the bigger chance that we get a legitimate series or film.
This community is blowing up.

@@QuesoCucuy HEY INTERNET CULTURE MOVIES ARE GREAT !!!!!

Slenderman 😐🤢🤮

Honestly this short film was marvellous, I find it scary but also funny at the same time. Best moments were the 2 operators just blatantly freeze and stare at the anomaly after engaging, the last operator remaining with the computer turns around and sees his buddy has disappeared out of thin air, and the expression is his eyes fill with terror as the anomaly moves closer and hits the backspace button. Overall, this short film is a masterpiece.
After watching Overlord, and then watching this.. I'm absolutely impressed with your work.. you most certainly know how to make horror without cheap jumpscares or trash CGI effects. That cliff hanger ending was really good the suspense in these films are perfection
I'm wondering if the reason I never liked horror was just because of bad decisions and jumpscares. These (this and Overlord) were *interesting* and I wanted to know more.

Only a small percent of people experience a mental breakdown and blindly run screaming.
But yes they put the effort in to make it look like a proper profession paranormal team. And it pays off greatly.
