Being an ER dr, I am thoroughly enjoying your stories. The whole-done-it crime stories are fun enough, but I especially love the medical mysteries. Trying to guess the ultimate answer before the conclusion is a lot of fun for me. Thank you!
When i was a kid i was horrified, fascinated, and terrified of spontaneous combustion. I would stare at the pictures of the feet that would remain. I couldn't wrap my mind around it then and i still cant now. 😬

@@shannonrutledge8872 my insomnia was horrid. I’m able to tune out the brain. Beats any medications for sleep issues. I just seldom make it through an hour. But literally keep it playing all night. It’s been a life changer. No more sleep meds❤️🩹

Spontaneous combustion... I suppose George either had a cigarette lighted, or a candle in his hand when the oxygen hit it and the flame then backfired on George. When his son came, the oxygen was still turned on, so this could be the reason. It's the body fat right under the skin that keeps the fire going.
Just my thought on the case. What do you all think?
Here in the UK I worked as a Joiner for a local authority (council /local government) . Quite often I had to gain entry (legally break in) to properties for the police or local authority. Once you have smelt the smell of death you will never forget it. It's a very sickly sweet smell. I really hope nobody here will ever be subjected to that.

And spraying weed killer, then having a compost bin.....which most likely has herbicide residue in it.....
I'm still so confused how the interior of the fridge (no reason for it to have been standing open at the outset) could have been so hot and the outside undamaged. A weird human combustion I can see but the fridge? That just skyrockets the weirdness!

There was a girl in my high school that died from West Nile in 9th grade. She was really cute too, it was weird. You hardly ever hear about it in New York.
Hmmmm... aren't most New Yorkers related with people from that area. The name is only west Nile, because this was the place this disease was discovered by modern medicine the first time. This disease is all over the middle east and also north Africa. So with New Yorkers traveling to Israel or people from there visiting their relatives in New York, it actually shouldn't be that rare. 🤔

West Nile was admittedly w.e.a.p.o.n.i.z.e.d on Plum Island. It was one of many diseases they were working on that got away from them. For at least a decade, Lab 257 had gaps of nearly an inch in their "containment" systems, that vented straight outside. They knew the local wildlife were taking these things to the mainland. They had hundreds of test animals there, monkeys, cows, sheep, etc, and knew the sewage system from their pens malfunctioned, causing untreated infected animal waste to flow straight out to the New England coast.
