    To get that wonderful a result for his customer in that amount of time just shows how masterful Darren is at his craft. Wash, clay, two step polish, hand wax, spray wax boost, detail wheels and interior on a car that large and there's still sun out - just amazing and terrific!

    Thank you for such informative videos.
    Its not easy to make such a video and I applaud you for your efforts in sharing your wisdom with us.
    When you reach a customer's home, you'd be lucky if the weather is still permitting, and if you're able to commence work on it immediately, you're very lucky.
    Hence, Im amazed that even before starting work on the vehicle, you can still hv the luxury and comfort to make such a lengthy video, while the clock is ticking away. Its perfectly fine if you bring along 2 staff to do it, while you focus on making a video. But hey, you're doing it solo.
    Again, I thank you for all the wonderful videos that you've created. You're my most admired pro detailer.
    In each of your vid, I strongly suggest you pre-plan what you wanna say, instead of rambling on and on. Look at the conments since a year ago...you hv been renowned as a person who rambles on amd all over the place in a highly unstructured manner. You flit in and out of the main topic like a butterfly. And you hv too many things in your mind that wanna burst out.
    My suggestion to you...use the least words and speak only the pertinent points. Then, your videos will be quick to understand and less torturous to watch.
    In the above video, the entire clip could hv been shortened to only 15mins max if you had adhered to important points instead of deviating into words of wisdom.
    Dude, I love words of wisdom from you, but theres a time and place for it. In the above video, you shd hv gone straight into the Porsche and explained what are practical for it, and how you'll be doing it.
    When you're at home, you can make another video to give us your lengthy words of wisdom and Im sure you'll be much more relaxed when speaking in a comfy environment with no time pressure.
    Once again, you hv a fan for life. Thank you.

    Darren I gotta say this video really spoke to me here... "thinking about reaching for that bottle on the shelf knowing the variables" and honestly for me the hardest product to want to grab off the shelf is "M105 or M101" and you know it does great work however it is A PAIN IN THE ASS to wipe off and all the dusting! So I went on a search and have located alternatives that work as well with less effort! Time is money!

    Darren, what happens when you show up and a car is not washed correctly? how do you make sure it is washed right before you get there? I would be afraid of that

  • @tonysteve78
    @tonysteve78 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Darren you mentioned you are not a car washer. Have you considered investing in hiring a person or crew to be a dedicated washer for your business? You would be able to do a level 10 detail and sell them a "maintenance package" and have your dedicated car wash crew/person do quality washes for that customer once a week? Also that person/crew can up sell basic car washes into level 10 details and that is where you step in and do the polish and protection for the customer at a later date. This will obviously involve investing in another rig/supplies/ and employee also finding an employee you trust enough to work with your clients without you on site.

    Do you have your customers bring their vehicle to you pre-washed then? If they dont, wouldn't you put scratches in it by polishing etc. if it wasn't washed first?
    I hate the washing as well, but live in Buffalo so it gets "messy" here....thank you Darren....

    Darren have you considered making a dedicated pads video?
    What kinds you like.
    What they do.
    How to use them, such as pressure and speeds.
    Size pad you use on the size plate you use.
    A little more on care such as, if the polish dries on the pad for a few hours can you still wash it?

    I'm new here so I have some questions. Do you still use the mega x wax in the interiors? What , when and why would you mask off certain things on the vehicle? How do you wax or polish inside the badges and letters? I've watched some of the videos from two years ago. Are you using the same products and doings things the same way or do you change things up as you find easier ways or better products? How do you clean and protect chrome rims? Thanks for your time for any responses.

    Hi, I want to get started with polishing but I'm a bit unsure what I need, I bought some of the S20 Black. Do I need a DA polisher or rotary, what kind of pad? Wool, microfiber or foam? What do I need to do after the polishing? Wax or sealant?
    I was thinking about the following:
    Wash
    Dry
    Clay (with lubricant)
    Polish
    Wax/sealant?

    Two questions could you not use a pop up canopy like a 10x10 to work in the shade on a car? And have you considered getting a newer van like a Mercedes sprinter

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have considered both. I used to have a canopy, but simply found the hassle of carrying one, setting one up, taking one down, to exceed the benefits of actually suing one. As far as the Sprinter; that is what I have my eye on. But I enjoy the fact of having such a low overhead with my business, that my profit margins are unbelievable. If I did not still truly love my Astro van as much as I do; I would likely have a Sprinter now.

    Would a product such as the SF 4000 with a pad with light cutting power (white or green) on a DA be a good place to start on a black car with wash marks/scratches that are considerably less than shown on this Porsche (2015 VW Touareg)? As a novice/driveway detailer for my daily driver I'm looking to do a very small amount of correction and am having a hard time deciding between using a 'finishing' polish or an AIO (acronyms!) for the job.

WHY would it look flawless when applying the wax, nice & clean, consistant solid wax application , yet removing the wax leaves ugly big smears that wont come out. • @tomatoindustriesdetailing2955
      @tomatoindustriesdetailing2955 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well that makes 2 of us..He also said interior gave him more trouble and took longer than he thought, giving less time for polishing. Initially it was 1 hr for interior so lets say 1.5hrs...so 2 stage polish/wax etc using a DA on a large SUV in 3.5 hrs...Mate thats beyond efficient that's bionic. Don't get me wrong I think Darren is a great detailer and I've watched heaps of his videos...IMO something does not add up and it looks like I'm not the only one. Look, lets just agree to disagree and leave it at that...

    It's actually 35mm sidewall and 295mm width....rather than 35% which would be if the the tire was 105mm wide.

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SO you don't buy into the "aspect ratio" of the 35? meaning it is 35% of the width of whatever the width happens to be. If you look at different widths of tires, but they all have the same side wall height number, you will see a dramatic difference in side wall heights due to this aspect ratio.

    • @anthony.catalano
      @anthony.catalano 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      YOU WIN! LOL I've always thought it was measurement in Metric MM.......GOOGLE DEFINITION: The two-digit number after the slash mark in a tire size is the aspect ratio. For example, in a size P215/65 R15 tire, the 65 means that the height is equal to 65% of the tire's width. The bigger the aspect ratio, the bigger the tire's sidewall will be.

      Not really he's more taking to people who are detailing cars to pay the bills.
      Some people go over the top everytime but if you spend 10 hours to wash a car and get paid $25 for it it might not work out well.
