What a damn good game. There needs to be a modern, open-world Jet set Radio with no time limits where you can explore a huge city and do missions or free roam while tagging and doing tricks in both.
Milktank ™ yeah, and it ashame that this 'dlc' culture is just spreading like fire. I mean srsly, why goin all 'good graphic' and super ultra complex story, while u can make games more fun to play via a more better gameplay or atleast more challenging gameplay
Morrilou They're legendary touchstones of modern gaming, but a person would guess they were from the early 90s, visually/gameplay wise. JSR hasn't aged a day, it's remarkable. Even the music in it sounds contemporary and fresh.
I didn’t own a gaming system as a kid and only got to play at my friends house. He had this game in a combo game disc for his Xbox that included sunset overdrive and I always wanted to play it but he never wanted to. One day when i was over at his house he had to do some chores so while he was away I opened the game because of sunset overdrive but accidentally selected jet set radio. I’m so glad I opened Jet Set Radio, I had so much fun, the music and everything was fresh and exciting! My friend came back in the room after he finished chores and got upset I was playing the game, took it out of the system and was so confused at why I chose that game and put in his favorite game, Starwars battlefront. The unfortunate thing is that I didn’t have my own Xbox and my friend got rid of that game combo disc. Whenever i tried to remember the game I mistook it for sunset overdrive since that was the main game on the disc, so I never found it after that….UNTIL only last year did I find it again through its music. I love funk and especially have been digging into early 2000’s style on hard hip hop techno funk sound. The song “Moodys Shuffle” came up on a radio playlist and it took me back immediately! it felt so nostalgic, it became one of my top listened to songs! Especially while riding my Electric Skateboard through New York City. I decided I liked it so much i wanted to check out other songs by the same artist and thats when I realized THIS IS THE GAME MY FRIEND DIDNT LET ME PLAY!!! OMG I then dove into all the incredible tracks from this game! Hideki Naganuma is a genius!!! Whenever i hop on my boards now i play these tracks and feel like im in the game as I fly through traffic and carve the streets. Since I didn’t get a gaming system like an Xbox until 10 or so years later I never got to play the full game, but I never forgot this game, and if I ever found a copy of it I would buy it in a heartbeat. Now I am hoping that they release it again for Switch or as a Mobile game so i can play it! (I dont have a PS or Xbox anymore and dont want one) but man this game deserves so much more acclaim than it got. I’m so happy to read all the stories from people who actually got to play it, it only makes me want to get a copy sooner!
This was most of my childhood on dream cast! Everything in this game has some of the most original and unforgettable experiences when I was kid, especially the music. Leaves a big smile on my heart.
We had a pirate (quite appropriate!) version of this game all in Japanese. It took us ages to figure out how to get past the menu and we almost gave up on it entirely, but eventually found the option to start game. Never understood what the fuck was going on at any point but this game was amazing. One of the best we ever played.

I agree 100% - This game looks incredible, everything about it, its lighting and use of color is masterful. It looks quasi-photo-realistic even though it's celshaded.
One of the greatest games Sega has ever made. I remember having it when it first released. It came with a sampler CD with it. I regret losing that CD to this day. The soundtrack in this game was God tier. Sega need to release this for the 20th anniversary of this game with this game and Jet Set Radio Future in Switch or something
Yes, it was a beautiful thing! Being a big fan of going to play the latest games in the arcades it was the first time that a console technically surpassed what was in those big cabs. Soul Calibur being the main one to shine with many others to follow. Although Sega dropped the ball a little by not doing their own arcade games in house they definitely made up for it with the many original titles they released in its short lifespan. The only other console release that came close for me with a similar amount of buzz would be when the 360 released, but obviously for different reasons.

Indy The Great Would be cool to have that kind of game but most likely won't happen since SEGA moved to the mobile industry.
Indy The Great Take a look at "Hover: Revolt of Gamers"
Indy The Great You're talking about Jet Set Radio Future (the sequel)
Indy The Great
I like the time limits, as they add drama and challenge to the game.
Philippe A. Dubuc The problem with that game is you had to follow the story; there wasn't much to do outside of it. Plus the city wasn't very big.
A new Jet Set Radio Would look great on the Switch
Or at least a port
Yes
I would say just emulate it but I keep remembering that modded switch's are frowned upon
It would look good on a new SEGA console...
I would kill for that
