As a Sega Fan for well over 25 years, I've been convinced in the last 5 that Sega absolutely _HATES_ money.
Which is why they still run the Pachinko machines in Japan, right?
But seriously speaking, you, that say you're a SEGA fan, don't seem to realize how niche these SEGA games really are? There's a reason why they've slowly backed away from the US audience and it's because some of their lesser known franchises just aren't capitalizing on the gaming community the way it used to be back in the 90's when all we had was SEGA and Nintendo. All the while in Japan where their series like Phantasy Star, Hatsune Miku, Puyo Puyo and Yakuza actually are a bigger deal in profit. It just isn't the same here in the US at all. A new Jet Set Radio will hardly do as well as people think. Same with Shenmue 3. But no, let's just assume they hate money.
SetnaroX We don't get the games that Japan gets, which is how it's been since the Sega Saturn. "Sega hates money" is mostly a joke, but I'm left to wonder why they've let so many great franchises just rot while we get progressively more terrible Sonic games.

Butterworthy exactly. Look at Nintendo. Yeah Mario is their mascott, but they have plenty of other games to choose from too. That's how Sega and all game companies should be, in my opinion. Give us variety. Want an action Adventure game? Zelda. Want an On-Rails shooter? Star Fox. Want an RPG? Mario RPG and the Earthbound series. Sega, Want fast paced Platforming? Sonic. Want .......a racing game? Sega All Stars Racing? ....with characters people outside of Japan hardly know....cause their games were either never released outside of Japan or haven't had another installment since the....90s? :( damn it SEGA! lol they should've kept their other franchises alive, not just Sonic

I mean you can kind of tell most of these songs have samples. The only thing that surprised me was that I thought she was saying "Would you stop playing with that radio, Love". Instead of "Would you stop playing with that radio of yours"
I know this comment is ancient by now, but what you probably don't know is that Naganuma most likely didn't sample that directly from the show. There is a George Michael song called "Too Funky", that right at the end of the song plays that sound byte from the BBC show.

Player segregation, playing off addiction, pay to enjoy, concept ripping, luring new players with little effort into actually progressing the game, it is the purest example of manipulative entertainment created by unpassionate businessmen right next to Candy Crush.
This game is scum, the people who run it are also scum, a carbon cookie cutter copy of the cash cow templet.
Play it if you want, but don’t spend a penny in it, don’t support the monopoly Valve is running here, go buy a game that will actually have some positive impact on you.
Good examples would be Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Bioshock: Infinite, Mirrors Edge, these games can go for around $5 on Steam every now and again, or you know buy two keys for that little raw pump of dopamine when you gamble with crates, i'm sure you get a much better experience that way
SEGA quick to say no to Jet Set Radio but when Sonic Boom bombed harder than Sonic 06 they wasted no time to announce a sequel they promised would be better a few months later lol.

Seriously, Sega needs to make Jet Set Radio 3. Preferably for the Wii U since the Gamepad would be perfect for tagging. Sega has been focussing way too much on Sonic, when they have a huge catalogue of classic IPs that they could be making new games for.

I remember seeing the commercials for JSRF shortly after the xbox came out. It actually ended up coming with my Xbox along with Sega GT 2002. By far JSRF is one of my favorite games to this day. Awesome music and an even better landscape to explore.

SEGA has so many franchises they can use but they've spent the last decade milking Sonic dry. I wanna see these games again.

Another Fact: The new Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive gets a lot of inspiration from Jet Set Radio which is why Grinding is a major gameplay mechanic.

I really started loving Sega again when they started porting those oldies but goldies to new platforms. Now it seems they've diverted most of their attention to crap franchises, most significantly Sonic...

xnamkcor X What you say is a bit contradictory. I'm sure we can agree that it WAS a good franchise turned sour. Many would agree that the last truly good game in a series of consistently decent games was Sonic Adventure 2.
By that I mean that there have been one or two decent titles over the last decade, but they haven't been consistent and have been swamped by the horrible ones. I liked Sonic Generations.

This game has the best soundtrack ever.
You guys did a good job and its nice seeing you guys getting started with SEGA content on the channel. Seems like you guys mostly due Nintendo on the channel. Hopefully we get to see more, especially stuff like Panzer Dragoon, Shining Force, Shinobi, Outrun, Virtua Fighter, Virtual On, and the list goes on. Too much stuff you guys can potentially do.

2001. All I had was an N64, Saturn and a Genesis before that so up to this point, and the most advanced game I'd played was Conker's Bad Fur Day, which admittedly is so good it looks like early titles released on the Dreamcast. Played JGR at a friend's house, loved it, was going to buy a Dreamcast but the PS2 had totally shoved it out of the way by the time I had the money and it didn't look like a good purchase at that point.
So, myself being young and pretty loyal to Sega at the time (man, how times have changed), I naturally went with the Xbox when it came out and Microsoft kind of naturally took Sega's position.
2002: Bought my Xbox and a copy of the game (those original non-bundle copies go for quite a bit these days).
*Just....like, pretty much speechless.* The word *future* was never more applicable. JSRF, along with Halo, was my first proper sixth gen experience and it still looks and sounds so fucking good that really all it needs is to be re-released at a higher, widescreen resolution, a 5.1 mix and little else. The game felt like the future of gaming. I cannot tell you how many hours I put into that game. Just like the first game, it's so absurdly lesser known and still somehow a 'cult' title which is both unfair and a little special at the same time.
Let's get this comment to the top, it has effort in it.

I want the manga/anime series Air Gear to be made into a game and JSR is such a solid base for it. it's got the skates and the gang warfare, just ditch the spray paint, switch up the music, introduce the battle systems and team ranks and you're away.
There's a game called Sunday X Magazine, Itsuki Minami is in it, not an Air Gear game but close

An Original Xbox is not that expensive and the game is not expensive either.
I got a Original Xbox, 2 controllers, Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future for about $80.
You're better off getting a 360 and a JSRF disc. It works just the same.

Jet Set Radio is where the kind of crisp, open, 3D gaming as we know it today really started. It was - and is - astounding. The possibilities of 3D gaming - and of Sega's Japanese styling and impeccable music- was so freshly laid out for the first time. Sega cemented their place in 3D gaming history with this compelling cityscape.
DANG IT I MISS THESE GAMES! its because of these games that started watching air gear about 5 years ago. (if any one likes jet set radio I highly recommend watching air gear if you have not already.)
If they only called it Jet Grind Radio Future I would have bought it. I was a dumb kid and didn't know they were related. Seems obvious in hindsight I know but games back then had a lot of similar names and it was a totally different console!

This game was amazing. Sadly, Sega is too busy sucking ass and can't do cool shit anymore. Last great thing they did was Vanquish and it's kind of forgotten.
Vanquish is quite possibly one of the few futuristic FPS games that I actually enjoyed and didn't get bored of after 5 minutes compare to like Halo.
What about Yakuzza and PSO 2?

Since JSRF was backwards compatible with my old 360 I decided to buy a copy online just so I could beat it like I ever got to when I was a kid.
That game is still way better than some games that come out today.

If they do one It should be on the entire series of games. From Halo CE, Halo Custom Edition, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Halo 4, Halo Spartan Assault and Halo Master Chief Collection.
Trust me... There are events in Halo 4 that makes a certain moment in Halo CE (the first halo) make so much sense your mind will explode on how far and how long they've had story details locked away. It's pretty much the control room where guilty spark, master chief, and cortana are talking. Spark answers to chief in a way that made no sense at all at the time.
Halo is filled with stuff. I can see this as a really good series if organized well.
***** Well to your first point, in classic DYKG fashion, if they did a Halo series of videos they would cover all topics of interest, which includes all the games, as they have done for many other franchises, so there is no cause for concern there.

The San Francisco event reminds me when I went to Japantown in fall of 2012. When I headed there, they had an advertisement for the Jet Set Radio remaster which was very nice

Thankfully I was able to get the free copy, along with Golden Axe and a 3rd game (not sure which one, didn't care tbh). But at least now I have a copy of the game and wasn't disappointed. The pc version came out some time ago and I didn't buy it simply because I already have it for the dreamcast and didn't want to shell out another $20+ for an hd version with some extra perks. Anywas, you are correct though, when it was free, the prayers of many were answered :D

Hover: Revolt of Gamers comes out on the Switch and currently out on the PC. The closest thing we'll get to Jet Set Radio sequel.
I'm a big Jet Set Radio fan. I remember I completed 3 versions of the game (US, EUR, JP deluxe) just to know the differences between them, and everything came to mind when I saw the movie The Warriors. It's like this game is an homage to the movie with the gangs, and the DJ as a narrator.
The soundtrack of Jet Set Radio Future is so awsome that I'm still playing it in 2014!
I hope they make another Jet Set Radio game in the future.
