Thanks for the helpful rundown on costs. Comparisons to other countries are always appreciated as well. Interesting to hear you are using a Britta water filter. Bottled water is always a costly inconvenience and I have used the Britta. I used to work l in water treatment, and my observations and lab testin indicate the Zero Water as it's much effective. I also use a kettle to boil water and let it cool before filtering to reduce bacterial and fungal growth in the filter medium. Boiling also boils off a lot of chemical contaminants further improving the quality of the filtered water.

Biggest issue for me was pollution and corruption as i lived there 10 years there abouts. Price was generally cheap if you got an income coming in like i did!

Not enough ENGLISH and too many damn visa runs loaded with inconvenience and added expense for me to be happy trying to enjoy retirement ! -- The language barrier would get really old in about 2 days. -- Not wired for their language. -- A terribly uncomfortable environment for me personally to endure. - - - I would find Cambodia a much better fit with the exceptionally friendly Khmer people & their use of English - acceptance of the USD - and - a retirement visa policy over 55 - that is legendary !!! A few dollars more expensive to live monthly - but the visa ease & cost makes up for a lot of that combined with the interactions with the local people. - - - Siem Reap in particular such a beautiful city would be in my comfort zone ! International food & cheap street food - very low rents - even 50 cent beer many places ? - - - Sorry - but Vietnam is not for me. Malaysia & the Philippines - where they speak a lot of ENGLISH - would be a lot more comfortable - for me !!! The little bit of savings in living daily wouldn't be worth the extra grief inflicted by the language - on me ?

I could't agree more with everything you said, the 1 thing nobody in these type of vids talk about is the people, the Vietnamese people while not unfriendly are not warm and friendly like othe SEA countries, they rarely smile and will look at you stoney faced, they are not as welcoming and accepting of foreigners as othe SEA countries, and don't get me started on dating that's a non starter there.

@@mrgingerman6020-- I also heard 'International Travelers Magazine' subscribers had "voted" - and - the Khmer people of Cambodia - won - as the friendliest and most welcoming people in the world. -- Even over such notables as Filipinos ! -- Also - some 250,000 Americans have moved to Cambodia in the past decade. Many being paid to teach English - others to retire. --?-- ❤🙏👏🍺

Yes as I said here before, danang is awkward and has a terrible climate, this month is the best of danang but wait until may to August, so hot you can barely walk around and then September to February you will rarely see the sun, it's a no, Hoi An is an absolute marvel and great to visit march to may, enjoy
