Fun fact: the actor who plays Skinny Pete is actually a really good pianist, and when you think about it that was a really sad scene (@6:50) because it show an example of the real world when a guy has a real talent that he could do something with it, but instead he chose the wrong path :/

The Skinny Pete is my small favorite moment because is surprising and heartbreaking at the same time. Cause you see the joy in his face and realize what he possibly could've been before the drugs. And to think it was Inprov on the moment makes it all the more clever.

Oh come on now, guys -- this (telling Marie about Ted) was Walt's best lie ever, because he used the truth! He realized the affair was the perfect explanation, he knew Skyler couldn't then deny it to Marie, nor spill about Walt's crimes, AND he left himself looking like the poor sympathetic victim.
Nobody's denying that it's a brilliant lie. Imagine having a spouse like that, that is twisting everyone's perception of you and her/him in such a way. Not the best kind of marriage in my opinion.

This was the season where it became impossible to defend Walt. He had become full on arrogant asshole. He really seems to think that because he killed Gus that means he is Gus. He has no empathy or concern for anyone else anymore and he sure as shit doesn't care how he treats or effects people. And you haven't even seen the worst of it yet.
As usual Nahid's knowing glances at the camera at Ranna and Hannah's comments continue to be a highlight of these reaction videos.

12:35 The really messed up part is I still see to this day people posting comments in arguments online like "Skylar had an affair, what a horrible wife." Literally falling for Walt's tricks every bit as much as Marie here, except they don't have the excuse of not having the full picture. Rarely has a character been such a Rorsach test to determine, shall we say, a viewer's pre-existing set of biases. I get why fans might not enjoy her scenes, she's specifically written to be the obstacle to all the wacky crime antics, but the absolutely meteoric levels of hatred that Skyer (and her fucking actress IRL) got has to involve a whole lot of those, uh, gender biases at work.
Walter's no dirtier for telling Marie that Skyler slept with Beneke then Skyler was for sleeping with him in the first place on his words to your wife's sister about a family problem the other is boning your boss. Typical women to jump all over the man's case. Plus it's so funny to watch women be women you can just see that anger and hate in their eyes towards the men's of the things they blamed the men's or doing even though it was probably best that Jesse break up with his girl to get her out of the drug life and Walt didn't make that happen.

Walt was doing a good thing stopping her from finding out the truth, you are letting the dislike cloud your view of scenes just occasionally. Not telling her he is a drug lord and her sister knows and supported is not a bad thing.
And Skyler is a grown adult who made her decisions, staying with him on purpose with NO threat real or implied. All Walter did was decide that if they were over, he wasn't going to take crap from anyone at that point or be kicked out of what is also his house. She decided to move forward with him after this, even taking the lead in bringing them closer and it is not like she didn't know exactly what was happening at that point either.
I don't know what they expected... Walt is lying to hide the fact that he's a Meth cook like he has been for the last 4 seasons. But now it's suddenly outrageous? I don't understand... Skylar had her chance to leave, she chose to stay.

No, Walt was absolutely directing that statement at Mike. Those two never got along well, and now that Walt is on a power high, it's very apparent that Mike is walking on eggshells now.
Walt respected that Jesse offered up his share of the money.
I think he said that to Jesse, for the same reason Gus started involving Jesse more and more into his operations and casually badmouthing Walt. Walt knows that Jesse wouldn't approve hurting Mike, just like he didn't approve for Walt to get killed.
The way Walt calmly talked about Victor getting his throat cut scared me. Before this season, I never thought I would be scared of Walt. He's Heisenberg 24/7. His humanity is nothing more than a costume.

For whatever reason, I was on Walt's side for the first 4 seasons. It was actually the first episodes of this season that I stopped rooting for him. I was rewatching it later and couldn't believe I was on his side for so long. I think that happens with a lot of people, because we're conditioned that way by most movies and shows.
@@damyr55 You were on his side for the first 4 seasons because Vince Gilligan intentionally created Walter White to be an empathetic and likeable character. He says this often in interviews.
The point was to deteriorate his soul over the course of the series, giving many signs of grey morality and evil actions.

Munzur Baba you can enjoy watching a character that you hate. If the character and the show are well written it doesn’t matter how much you hate the main character. I hated Walt since like season 2. It was still a great show to watch. Walt is undeniably one of the worst people in this show, second only to Gus, maybe. He deserves the hate. Most my friends that have watched the show hated him by this point as well. It’s got nothing to do with their intelligence.
