I'm glad he got to show that off. It's nice when actors get to showcase their other talents.

When they talk about Walt manipulating Jesse into breaking up with Andrea, it's really hard to say what his intentions were. He never saw her as a threat like Jane. He might've been scared that she would convince Jesse to get out but then again it's possible he was trying to teach Jesse based off what he's been going through. Hard to say.
I think Walt’s problem was that Andrea was a variable, an unknown factor, and he had no idea what the possible consequences of her being in Jesse’s life could be for himself
At this point I think Walt sees Jesse as a useful asset, a loyal dog that he can easily manipulate to do whatever he wants. Jesse being happy and having Andrea might make him a liability. His loyalty would be split, or worse shift towards her over him because he knows first hand a man would do anything for his family. If Jesse is alone then Walt can use Jesse as needed.

I loved the dynamic of Walt and Mike getting into some conflict and Jesse jumping in to play peacekeeper. This was the part of the show where Jesse became obviously more likable than Walt. Walt is becoming straight up evil.
The flying too close to the sun reference was definitely a threat towards Mike.

You ladies are reacting to both of my favorite shows Breaking Bad and Peaky Blinders.... Breaking Bad have the best ending ever for a series I wish I could have watch both of these shows at once like you guys 2 highly creative shows that are so very different in tone. Peaky Blinders is more stylish old ganster but gritty... Breaking Bad is modern and street and gritty
Remember that this season is really 5a and 5b. After the 8th episode, there was an over a year break before the next half.

If Walt were to have ever done meth it would be a nightmare monster, cuz he already acts like he's on it in these later seasons with his delusions and psychosis. This is where we start to realize it was never really about him trying to make a living for his family or for his health, this last season is where we get to see who Walt really is and probably always was. Here he starts to really believe his lies, whereas in season one he kinda sucked, and he knows it, and he likes it 🫣
the first season 5 scene is not years later. he just has an inch of hair again, that can be a few month only

I thought he was threatening Jesse for inserting himself in the situation. Jesse kind of undermined Walt's authority by offering his share which made Walt look bad so he had to back down. At this point Walt's ego is on a massive power trip and he's intent on being a winner and making sure everyone knows he's top dog but having to back down means he lost that argument and it was because of Jesse. Jesse flew too close to the sun by trying to circumvent Walt's demands.

Reminder that Mike at least commits crimes for his family and lives with empathy, standing up for his people. Meanwhile Walt is a thrill seeking manipulative sociopath that habitually ruins everything he touches and destroyed the possibility for peace and easy money that everyone involved with gus had - all for the sake of some excitement. He also basically ruined Jesse's life.

@@newname4793 Nah, Walt killed Gus because Gus was gonna kill Hank and threatened his family if he tried to intervene. Everything before that was driven by his pride and ego and protecting his family but after killing Gus, there was nothing left to hold back his ego so he asserts himself with impunity.

It's really hard to not see that comment as misogynistic. Walt was always worse than Skyler.
Walt wanted to alienate Andrea and Jesse because that would alienate brock from Jesse. Brock apparently knew Walt poisoned him, so he's the only one who could let Jesse know.
How would Brock know that Walt poisoned him?
@@dwnkaomwn3953 Walt propably gave him the poisonous berries. Assuming those do not have immediate effects (I don't know wether they do or not), brock wouldn't have to know it was Walt. He did seem to recognise Walt again, however, and he did seem scared of Walt. At least that's the impression I got. Plus, kids aren't as stupid as one would sometimes think; If a man offered you berries, you end up in the hospital afterwards and that same man appears at your house, you'd get suspicious, even as a kid.
Brock doesn't know that Walt poisoned him. Walt poisoned him in secret.
He wanted Jesse to break up with Andrea because he doesn't want any loose ends in case Andrea finds out about the business.

@@KJYKJY1985 Okay, you are right. But since he didn't really know Jesses family that much at that point, he didn't really have a way to sneak these berries into Brocks food undetected, either. It would be a stupid plan, but to be honest, I can't really imagine a smart and safe way to do this. Plus, Brock did act really awkward around Walt.
@Jeremy yeah, well doing it in secret sounds more reasoneable, but it wouldn't be as easy as it sounds. Plus, Brock did act really weird and awkward around Walt. maybe it was just a bad performance of the child actor, but something about Brocks behaviour seemed off. Not wanting Andrea to find out abut their business does seem like a solid motive. However, Walts manipulative speech could have backfired if Jesse actually did tell Andrea the truth instead of breaking up with her. Not very likely, but still a possibility. If he was worried about Andrea being a loose end, this would have been a risky move. If Brock was the loose end, this move would make a lot more sense.
Yeah, so I do see the flaws in my theory, but I'd be curious to hear how you two think it went down.
