i have a big 5 gallon jug that holds about 60-80k gel balls and i keep water in it just to the level of the balls , and i dump small portions into an old tang container and fill my mags with a funnel when im ready to use them
Does that method still work for you? I see a lot of youtubers use the small containers for storing and growing their ammo but I have some gallon jugs ready to go
Question❓🙋🏾♂️ The gels absorbs water right, but what if the water the gels were absorbing wad mixed with alcohol & capsaicin 🔥🔥Could a gel blasting gun be used as a self/home defense weapon??? 🤔
Nah bro trynna make a gel blaster into a pepper gun 💀💀💀… anyways. probably yes because since gel balls absorb liquid, they will absorb alcohol mixed with capsaicin. Probably won’t absorb much though. You wanna make it more painful? High voltage battery… I think.
They don't expand very well when there's any amount of alcohol. I tried making 1 gallon of splatrballs and 1 gallon of the Starfire gellets where both had two spoons of 91% isopropyl mixed in, and they only got to around 7.2mm instead of the normal 7.5mm
Dang I just left them in a Walmart container in my truck with a lil bit of water in it. The heat will make It sweat inside the container and drip on back onto the balls. And I live in Louisiana so it's humid here too
I’ve left some of the glow in the dark ones in water for a while and they started to shrink down and it left me kind of disappointed because I paid like 18 dollars for around 20,000
@@Ambatukamohh I think the Starfire has a different formulation, and they can't be left in water for a long time. I haven't had any issues with the GelStrike ones
Vinegar seems better than soap for mold, imo, but maybe soap is a good lubricant? Keeping them in water would help reduce the surface area and therefore reduce the oxygen exposure, but wouldn't keeping them sealed do basically the same thing? I'm somewhat skeptical if this method is any better than just sealing them up in the fridge in a wet-but-drained state...
Will give vinegar a try. Keeping the gels for too long (many months) in water does make them grow a little too large. However, anytime I have left gels in a bottle and drained, they become a little smaller, and more likely to mold.
Gel balls without water in a tight sealed container will last indefinitely. You want the least air space possible to prevent them from shrinking. This is how companies supply their hoppers preloaded. When kept in water for months, they might grow too large to fire reliably from magazine fed blasters, but never seem to grow large enough to cause issues with hopper fed.
Keep in mind that excessive heat can make them sweat the water out. I've got a *factory sealed* hopper of purple gellets that came with my Starfire XL and I quickly noticed that during an extreme heat advisory of 104F, (something like 40 or 41C) they were smaller than at night + there was visible drops of water on the inside walls of the hopper.
Just incase its winter, or a crazy cold weather, i think orbeez will start to mold and freeze pretty fast, if you leave them in a container with no water, that could also happen, so, I recommend, wait til, spring or summer, but before that store them in a water filled container
I grow large amounts and keep them ready so that I don't have to plan 4 hours ahead of playing. That way they are always ready. I also grow many different brands for the testing I do, so I have excess that sometimes sits around for a while.
@@donjuanthepiper7166idk maybe because some people dont wanna shoot alot of orbeezs and waste them unnecessarily or they dont wanna spend money on new ones
I made the mistake of putting drained gel balls in the refrigerator what happen they must have hardend or shrunk because they would'nt fire so I poured hot tap water on the a let soak for a while and that did þhe trick because they came back to life and work again, By the way they just go away when they degrade they turn into grainy sandy pebbles and you have to sweep them up.

Wait I want to store mines in water but a article said it can get over hydrated and break the balls so what do I do
I have not seen that happen with a large variety of gels.
Don't believe them they only expand to the dimensions of size it says on the box. Scientist make them after all.......

How long will last the gel balls under water?
If I'm just storing them for a few days should I still use this method? Or just leave them in a air tight container.
Use a drop of soap, or put it in the fridge.
@@engineerable Won’t the balls freeze if I put them in the fridge? (While in the air tight container)

Me and you both know that those are the same bbs with the mold just washed them lol I seen that 1 at the end😂
Yep, I had forgotten to add the soap to this batch, which is what made me think of making the video.
I just leave mine in water.
If I don't add a drop of soap, it will grow mold and stink, guaranteed.
Do I need more soap if I have a lot of gel balls....maybe like around 300k
why do you have 300k gel balls

Drained gel balls in general get smaller when stored. Store them submerged in water.
Yeah I found out that works the best...:)
