Well done Richard and Natasha. It is sad that the majority of keto influencers found our species appropriate nutrition through chronic illness but the message is gaining real momentum now. Keep up the great work it’s so important.
This lady explains things so simply, what a pleasure to listen to. And SO informative. I’ve really just started my carnivore journey and am learning so much, even after being gluten free, processed food free, sugar free etc for over 15 years ❤️
Natasha is absolutely amazing, thanks for interviewing her. In her second book she is talking about no plants GAPS diet - that is very similar to carnivore, but even better, with the gut healing fermented raw dairy and fermented meat, plus her amazing meat stock, definitely not bone broth, plus the initial stages how to eat the meat - not fried or oven baked, but cooked. Carnivore diet, combined with Natasha's no plants GAPS diet healed our son's autism and more.
Love it so much, Richard! Dr. Natasha was one of the first healers that inspired me to reverse my son’s neuropsychiatric Dx’s. He had 5 Dx by age 5! We have done tremendous healing for myself and him by leaning into a nearly carnivore diet. Keep interviews like these coming, amazing!
Loved this discussion, what an amazing lady Dr Natasha is. I’m so much on the same wavelength with regard to the way big food, and governments are trying to destroy real farmers. It’s just so evident currently in the UK. Completely frightening! Almost forgot to say thank you for an awesome interview 👍
She is so right about the unreliable vegetable garden. That is why in traditional Chinese culture, most of the plants were gathered in the forest, not cultivated. They were fermented and often then dried👍
Really enjoyed this conversation. I didn't know about Dr. Natasha, definitely something already fixed thanks to you. (side note: I do really appreciate you put the Subtitles displayed on the screen, very well thought. ) Thanks again.
Wow such a great interview with enlightenment to how your body works, and the truth of the deception we have and are being told x beautiful thank you 🙏 x
Fantastic interview/ talk. If anyone is interested about watching more about regenerative farming I suggest watching the recent (2023) film, “Wilding” by Isabella Tree and her husband, Charlie Burrell. I’m interested in how our built landscape might change as we shift our attitude/ relationship to food. I think that these regenerative practices can help resolve so many of the problems we face today, not just nutrition.
Nice interview. I read both the GAPS books and the info seems valuable. However, when Judy Cho interviewed Phil Escott, he mentioned that some people did not get better even on GAPS, but when they did PKD, that's what helped. I believe both Dr. Campbell-McBride and Dr. Clemens have anecdotes, but Paleomedicina also has the clinical data. Richard, do you plan on interviewing Dr. Zsofia Clemens as well? Thanks!
Yes. The Gaps diet allows lots of dubious vegetables (like spinach), nuts, seeds, legumes (including lentils and split peas) and fruits. It also excludes milk and some cheeses, but this may be a good idea for many people.
@@dennisward43There is a version of GAPS diet, that's plant free, it's called "no plants GAPS" diet. This is in her 2nd book. She invented this version of no plants diet, because indeed for some people even GAPS did not work, but no plants GAPS managed to heal them. There are a few people who struggle with carnivore diet, I would highly suggest them to dive into a deep research about no plants GAPS. Chances are they will find their answers there. Idk where in Canada you are, but here in NS the markets operate from late April (or is it late May?) to October. There are a lot of cold-season veg that can be grown, for example my best - and only - good year with spinach was when i started it in November, and once the days started getting longer in March, it took off like a rocket!
@@AgnesMariaL 4B climate zone. Think maybe local greenhouses had first tomato, cucumber, peppers by late May - early June. Closed by end of Sept. So about 4 months, maybe 5. Can't plant outdoors until after Victoria Day, without risk of frost.
Does fermenting vegetables take out the harmful chemicals and anti-nutrients and does it take out the fiber that is basically complex sugar? In other words, does it destroy all the negative aspects of vegetable vegetables and fruit?
From my research and understanding, the anti-nutrients and toxins are neutralized by the bacteria :) And even any that aren't, having the now bio-available nutrients ought to offset any remaining toxins :)
A question just went through my mind regarding carnivore & vegan body temperatures. With many vegans ingesting non-heme iron vs carnivores who eat heme iron, would tthis create a difference in body temperatures? In my simple mind, carnivores may have higher body temperatures with their cells having more nutrients available to them.

These might seem like small nutrients, but micronutrient deficiencies can have a big impact on your health. (See: vitamin B12 deficiency, folate deficiency and vitamin K deficiency.) Short-chain fatty acids, in particular, feed the cells in your gut lining and help to keep your overall gut environment healthy. Gut bacteria also help to metabolize bile in your intestines. Your liver sends bile to your small intestine to help you digest fats. When that’s done, bacteria and their enzymes help to break it down so that the bile acids can be reabsorbed and recycled by your liver. This is called enterohepatic circulation. If this process stopped working, your body would be unable to recycle bile acids and your liver wouldn’t have enough to produce new bile. Your digestive system wouldn’t get the bile it needs to digest and absorb fats. And leftover cholesterol, one of the components of bile, would build up in your blood. - Leading to hearth attacks when you wipe out your microbiome by eating flesh only . Feed your microbes with fiber. They keep you alive
Hi this interests me, I did wonder about the dangers of carnivore longterm. It's so hard as a layperson to find the truth. Is it best to eat cooked, or fermented, veg, etc? Do you do healthy keto? Any advice welcome!
With regards to cholestorol, that myth has been debunked by MANY carnivore docs! Our brains REQUIRE cholestorol, and if we don't consume enough, then our liver has to make it! This is why people on a low-cholesterol diet still have high cholesterol readings: their livers are trying to compensate for the lack of intake!
