Joe Robinet you have inspired me to get a hammock and a good knife and hatchet and me and my friend are going out to the woods for a bushcraft night. We will be cooking steak as well! And I am from ohio so it’s much different forests but same concept

This is the best "You and Scout video" ever! This dog of yours loves you so much and its evident that he just wants to being doing what ever your doing and be near you. I had a dog like that growing up. She lived to be 16 years old and I still miss her. Scout is still strong and full of energy. He has a lot of years left. Take him out as often as you can. I did not need to say that because I know you will. When you told him to help you dig....I laughed my ass off. Cool dog bro. I love your videos and I got to know Doug, Shawn, and Scrambled O from you. It will be great to see all of you together again and hopefully on a long trip. Loved it as always. Made my day man.
You just said everything I had to say, and I also got to know about Doug, Shawn and Scrambled O because of Joe. My self reliance is one of the best, if not the best discovery of the year for me.

I loved the part where Scout was digging the hole. Haha what a good, smart dog! He definitely makes the videos that much better. Love how he always manages to get in the shot during parts where Joe is trying to show us what he's doing. Some may find this annoying, but I think its hilarious. Its almost as if Scout thinks Joe is talking to him, showing him what hes doing, so he stands right by Joe and pays attention. But I mean Scout is a dog, he doesn't understand the concept of a camera recording what they are doing. Maybe in a couple years Scout will evolve into understanding the concept behind a camera and will maybe even be able to zoom in and out as Joe is demonstrating something.
Happy Birthday to Mr. Scout. Would be happy to watch him for hours, just munchin' bones. Miss my Mr. Duke, our beloved German Shepherd who brought so much happiness into our lives. Great watching you, Joe. Blessings.

Your vids make me remember my childhood and using wood fires inside and outside to cook on, boiling water and foraging and collecting firewood. Even though I'm not romanticizing the hardships associated with having such a primitive life, I most remember how, even as a small child, I was communing with nature and how I would get so filled with the spirit I would almost burst.

I have had dogs thru my life but my favorite was an incredibly bold - no fear Jack Russel. He thinks he is the size of a Bengal Tiger but such a character. Super smart. He died at age 18yrs and it broke my heart. Well, he had a great life running on the beaches and up into the woods.
Still miss him.

Scout is like: "Why are you using that thin little thingy to dig with? You know what I can do with these two!" But since he is a welbehaved and polite dog, he wants you to find that out for yourself. The moment you let him, he is eager to show you how it should be done. He's like: "Use your paws. Both of them! Get it?" What a great dog. It is nice to be out in the woods with your dog like that. I think most of them love being in the woods and being alone with you.

Go to a remote wilderness then. Buy a boat plane, fly there and land in the water. Then hide the plane and just live off the land. Would recommend you bring a satellite phone with solar charging for emergency use.

But you really gotta fix your audio levels, either wear a clip on mic and overlay it. Or go through each clip and with your volume up full when editing and balance the audio levels. About half of the video is loud and the other half quiet. Wouldn't have said anything but noticed it a lot.

Yeah I agree it could be improved but I'm guessing it would be impractical for joe to carry around all that extra gear plus it's just more battery power to worry about. But good consistent audio wouldn't hurt...

regardless of the audio channel set up, the audio is regularly low, then high, then low. etc.
I'm deaf in my left ear so if you could put speech into both channels I'd really appreciate it.

Had to have my German Shepherd Daemyn put down last week so this video was very bittersweet for me. Glad Scout is doing so well, hope you two have many more adventures together.

Love watchin your vids w Scout involved. My camp/hiking pup was put to sleep on August 3 due to prostate cancer. His 10th B-Day would have been December 8th, exactly 2 month younger than Scout. Glad you enjoy your time with your dog. I sure miss mine. Haven't been able to enjoy the hiking spots since, can't even go into the woods as of yet. Watchin Scout brings up a lot of memories of Floyd.
