    Hello, I am (48f) and I have a younger sister, Diana (46f). Diana never really got along well when we were kids. She was always too pretentious and kind of mean to me and so, parted ways as soon as we had high school. I chose to go to that, she decided to move in with her boyfriend at the time. It’s a good thing that her boyfriend was rich since our parents would never have been able to afford the rent to let her live on her own. But she had made it very clear to our parents that she had no interest in knowing their opinions on her life and was going to do whatever she wanted.

    LIFE ADVICE: DON'T EVER EVER EVER post about receiving money/gifts, or post about your location until you've already been there and you're back. Social media is a dangerous medium of communication and can lead to horrible consequences. Honestly, unless you are using it to promote your business or brand, there is no real reason to have social media.

    Pretty risky to have three young kids and no job with someone not married to. What a winner to give up rights to children leaving their life. I feel sorry for the children having a mother like her.

    Rules to end up in middle class
    1. Graduate high school. Then get a job, attend trade school, go to college, or get certified in something with practical applications (job opportunities)
    1a. avoid majors in: philosophy, gender studies, race studies, art, theater, or anything else that sounds lofty/fun
    2. Don't have kids before you are married/Don't have unprotected intimacy with someone you do not want kids with
    3. Don't commit crimes
    4. You don't need to love your job but don't get one that kills your soul
    5. Do not spend more than you make.
    5a. Don't rent more space than you need/get room mates if you can't afford rent
    5b. Pay off your debt as quickly as possible
    5c. Invest as much as you can afford to loose.
    6. Remember Murphy's law and prepare accordingly./💩 happens, be prepared to deal with it and have a rainy day fund.

      Unfortunately from interviews on campus a lot of women choose easy studies to scout for potential rich husband as the real reason going to college.

    My brothers and sister and I were neglected by our mother. She found alcohol and random men to be more fulfilling than being a mother. We would just watch the
    Men come and go quietly. But at some point something shifted an we realized that we were competing with these men for attention. And then we would attack back. We'd run them off every time, behind my mothers back. One time she brought this man home who looked like a wet kitten and we were the type of savages that only teenagers could be. This time I unleashed on my mother told her everything that was going to happen and this poor man didn't look like he wouldn't live through it. I told her it was kinder for her to take him back to where ever she found him. She thought about and took him back

    OP didn’t steal anything she was actually there for the kids why their mother wasn’t this because you give birth to a kid doesn’t mean they owe you anything.

    I'll give it to OP, she really wise and level-headed woman. I fully agree with her, that if she contacted any autorities, in ANy, and i repeat ANY verdict outside of "full custody to OP" kids would be MUCH worse, because guess on whom sister would vent her anger? But now kids wouldnt have aunt to help them at all.
    Btw, there are some countries where "CPS analog" would take kids away by such claims almost immediatly, but guess what, in those countries that "CPS analog" weaponized it to the fullest. One of best cases of double-edged sword i know

    NTA OP. You have to call a spade a spade and if she did treat her children badly but not give them up to give them a chance of a loving home because she was being paid child support for them and getting money elsewhere for them, then she did treat them badly on top of any blaming them for 'cramping her style' with the men for simply being there. It would appear that she behaved in a self centred manner and did not deserve her children, effectively, to pay her for giving birth. The proof of how they felt is that they all came to live with OP as soon as they legally could because they knew that they would get the love and support there that they had not been getting with their mother. Their bio mother would continue to leech off her children as much and for as long as she could if OP, as the de facto mother, did not stop her. Carry on protecting those kids from their bio mother, OP, and being there for them when they need proper, non self interested help and advice.

    I sorry your sister should have been a mother and than the children would not left her tongue was sharp because she blamed the children for their existence, she put men before her children and suddenly believe s she owes something she not
    And she never would have given you custody she would not let go of child support money

  • @christinecary8413
    @christinecary8413 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

    No! She needs her eyes open to how she doesn't value relationships more the money. You don't treat people horribly and think they owe you something. You choose to give birth. So it's not something that someone owes you. You didn't do the raising of those kids by yourself.

    Something puzzling me still, OP., I understand what you are saying about the possibility of Diana taking the kids away and you and your parents not seeing them again, had you filed for custody, but she was getting money from you and your parents. If, as it seems ,she is money orientated, would she have sacrificed the money she was being given by moving away? Also, if she was 'never there for them', isn't that child abandonment and immediately actionable, or was it meant as 'not emotionally available to them'?

    I'm conflicted because OP took them in at 18 and provided stability. OP is also full of shit because cruelty to children is abuse she could have tried to get custody or called cps but guess she was not that concerned or just could not be bothered to go thru the hassle.

    • @robertx8020
      @robertx8020 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know that listening and reading isn't easy but OP explained this!
      Custody?/ While they are with the mother and there is no real proof of abuse on the outside? I don't know where you live but you get laughed out of court/
      CPS? Depending where you live (OP lives) Useless , years of investigation (while the mother used her anger in her kids even more) or kids taken into custody and OP can TRY to take them but there would be no garantee on success
      RL is not a movie

    The sister was no better. You want to pat yourself on the shoulder but you was just as bad as her and your parents too. If you see abuse and do nothing you are an abuser too. You was just the less monster. Stop you could have done better and more. You didn't step up you were just there and was again less evil than the mom. You deserve nothing.
