It's one of the best value bikes on the market. The things I enjoyed about mine: power throughout the rev range, amazing suspension for the price, seat is actually comfortable, does highway speeds well and isn't geared too high or too low in 1st and 6th. Is a good weight for a dual sport. I really loved this bike and could see getting another in the future. I'd need to compare to the new DRZ4S first.
Great review -- covered all the right details. Keep up the good work 👍 I'd consider this or the CRF300L if I decide to go water cooled and move on from my trusty little XT250.
I almost bought this bike this past summer. A Husky Fe350s went on sale for $8900 and i never looked back. The extra 10hp and superior suspension can't be bought for a couple grand more. I still like the Klx for that price always!
Just bought the 2025. Ditch the stock tires for off road as the D605's are horrible. Loving it so far and have some videos on my channel. ! Great review and a nice Apple to Apple comparison as the CRF300L is the only other bike in this price range.
It would be cool if you did a new crf300l with the 301 big bore kit by Ari Henning and 550 performance. Do dyno test and compare to other dual sport more powerful.
I personally think the recommended 7,600 oil change is way too long . I change oil at no more than 2,500 which for me is about 2 times a year.I recently checked the valves for the first time at 10,000 and they were within specs. You are right on the negatives and i have addressed all of those. I have also done a few mods to increase power, including the exhaust and it responded very well to those mods. I also changed the front sprocket from 14 to 15t , not a big difference but I like it.
Just out of curiosity, what were the weights of the riders? Asking because I’m 6’4 230. I’m at the point where I’m considering the new drz, but if the motor can handle my weight, also the KLX. My DR650 handles my weight really well as far as power, but suspension work definitely needs done.
No way this 300 is as powerful as dr650, 2 different worlds, id do fork oil and spring mods, and new rear shock on dr650, would be way better than the klx300
Haha I have heard that so many times since starting my channel. "are you in Florida?" Lol nope this is new Jersey. The new jersey pine barrens are 1.1 million acres.
@user-lj5ri3gp5o aftermarket is not the best for this bike. Barkbusters and hand guards are based on bar size not the bike so they are universal. Screens as well, but extended tank, not so much. I believe there is one option and its not a huge upgrade.
@MotorcyclesOffroad Thank you. Hopefully the aftermarket will catch up by the time I get closer to purchasing the bike. Thanks again and have a good one.
Even better, the KLX does get more discounts from their List price in comparison to the Honda. Meaning an even lower pricing, usually well over $1,000 less. Yes, the Honda is the ultimate in engine and tranny reliability, but the rear suspension of the Honda is WORSE for sure than the Kawasaki's all-rounder for the rest of us average size/weight crowd. And make no mistake, the big 4 Japanese manufacturers is where it is at for longevity.

Ukrainian and Russian people are beautiful in their own ways and it's such a shame we are still living in a divide and conquer world. It seems like we would be way past that at this point in history.
CfMoto 450NK quoted $3999 Black Friday sale, but $5900 out the door, incl Taxes, Tags and Title, out the door. in MD. Lot more everything, 50HP , 170 KMH or 115 MPH twin, Big TfT screen, adjustable suspension, slipper clutch, but street. Kaw needs to drop their price a bit more, their SuperMoto version is a R.O. That $5900 includes the "Shipping" and Dealer Prep which together is about $1K add on. "Shipping", From China?

Im not sure about the new DRZ yet, I will have to look more into it.
Just bought a 2025 and I’m just getting broke in. I’m loving it so far.
Been watching and subbed with you for a while. Yes, I did watch to the end. I own a KLX 300 ds (2021) and a KLX 300 SM (2022) and I enjoy them both.
This is one of the most in depth informative reviews I've watched. No fluff, just facts, subscribed.👍
@LastCall534 thank you, thats what I have been work towards in the evolution of my bike reviews.
good to see you back man, would like to know your opinion on the new DRZ-4S bikes!
Many people have asked me about that bike, Maybe I should look into it more and do a deep dive video.
Reviews are coming, from what I’ve seen though, if the drz wasn’t for you before, it still isn’t for you now. Too little too late I think.
Great review! Watched it to the end.
@@kurthedgecock6313 thank you

I’ve been saying this is the best bang for buck dual sport you can buy now that the wr250r is discontinued. Far better option over the crf300l
Very nice review!!
Thank you!

I owned a KLX 300R, and although it's a great bike, that front suspension left a lot to be desired.

I bought klx 300 sm n then got 2020 klx 250 rims n loved it . Sm suspension is stiffer n i am 200lb n it fit me good .
Keep up the good work dude! 👍
@TheDogDad thanks, I have been really busy but I needed to get this project finished and out there.

The only reason I got a crf300 instead of a klx300 is that the only bigger gas tank for the efi klx is only 2.7 gal.
I was wondering what you've been up to. Last video was a while back. *motorcycle wave*
@clvrswine haha well yeah I have been busy. I did do a life update on the patreon if you want to know more. You can watch it for completely free.

The best mod for more power? Get that secondary throttle plate out of there!

What area is this filmed? Reminds me of north Florida.
Haha I have heard that so many times since starting my channel. "are you in Florida?" Lol nope this is new Jersey. The new jersey pine barrens are 1.1 million acres.
This is an interesting option for me.
Does anyone know how the aftermarket support is?
Looking at least - screen, barkbusters, extended range tank...

Honda has more aftermarket support and options. How does the shifting compare to the CRF300L?
@mt1885 the CRF is much more smooth through the gears
@@MotorcyclesOffroad Thanks, was curious please do a DRZ4S video or over view would be great.

@udmbfckx2916 I prefer the Japanese bikes overall. I have had KTM and Chinese as well. But the Japanese bikes are really engineered to last.
If u don't want the maintenance of a mx trail bike klx300 good choice that was my final reason less maintenance than high performance ktm or husky
You have to be in Warton St Park?
Umm some of it might be, I mostly ride north of wharton though,

No ABS No buy
I wish there was an ABS option, The bike would be more available around the world.
